University of Houston Football Undefeated, 11-0

The Law of Gus has been overtaken by the Law of Gilmore.

Only 2 undefeated teams left!
That sums up the standings of college football in November 2011. LSU, Louisiana State University Tigers and University of Houston Cougars are each 11 Wins, 0 Losses tonight. All the other college teams have lost at least one game.

Look at University of Houston's eleven game winning scores HERE.

From the WEB, COMMENTARY:
Cougars509
I won't sleep much until Friday this is the first time in school history we have a chance at an undefeated season this late in. BCS bowl on the line. Slim chance but we may even get in the NCG convo. What a time to be a coog. I just hope I am still saying that Saturday. The last time we were here was my freshman year and UT beat us bad end our top 10 rank. We were bowl ineligible due to Yeoman era violations but still. This game is always crazy and hard to call. I think UH should win but our stats against common opponnents are close and with the expection of '08 and back in the 60's, before my time, when UH scored 49 in one quarter against and scored 100 total these games have been very close.

Eat 'em up. I hope we go out and win but Tulsa's run game scares me. Their D is so so and not as good as SMU but they can run and that is our weakest point on D right now.

tomvaughan2005
A lot of losses have to happen for us to be in the NCG conversation and even then I don't see it happening. But you're right, great time to be a Coog.

(I still remember than UT loss. I remember the Miami loss more the next year even more. Ugh.)

Cougars509
I try to forget the Miami game. I was at a Sigma chi party about a week after and the Sigma Chi guys were giving the backup center who snapped one out of the endzone for a safety heck about it since he was one of their brothers.

Tulsa is going to eat Houston up. It's our senior day. It's in Tulsa. The pressure and expectation on Houston will be too much for the players.
2 fans like this.

Cougars509
I don't think so scooter. UH might not win but this one will be close. There was just as much pressure against SMU and we got the blow out.

Rocketman003
This is going to be a shoot-out, high scoring game. If UH's defense plays like they did against SMU, they will win but thats a big IF, regardless I have hope
8 Hours Ago

Cougars509
I don't know. It depends on how UH steps up run D. Last year it was pretty low socring but a shootout. SMU was able to really eat some clock today and if Tulsa can run well it might be another 28-25 affair like last year because Tulsa takes 8 minute drives.

Brent6382
You know that last year Houston had a true freshman quarterback in there that didn't know any of the plays right? Keenum and Turner were out for the season. The team was in the dumps all around and still almost won. Don't expect Houston to be anything like last year.

I really want UH to win this game but it just won't happen. Strange things are happening on Friday nights. The Law of Gus has been overtaken by the Law of Gilmore.
" ... As for the Tulsa Game this Friday --
Cougars509Common opponents update
Tulane UH 73-17 Tulsa 31-3
UNT UH 43-28 TU 41-24
UAB UH 56-13 TU 37-20
Rice UH 73-34 TU 38-20
Marsh UH 63-28 TU 59-17
SMU UH 37-7 TU 38-7
UTEP UH 49-42 57-28

Total points scored 345 UH TU 244 101 points + UH
Total points given up UH 169 TU 119 -50 TU
Total point differential UH 176 TU 125 UH +51 avg. +7 UH
By common opponents this should be a very close game and a very good matchup. UH has only a touchdown a game net more than TU. ..."

Let's talk Michigan turkeys

Did You Know?
Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Nov 19, 2011 | Bryan TX

Some would like to preserve the purity of a good, fresh turkey for Thanksgiving Dinners. Here in Michigan, the Mitten State, one farmer has done just that.
[Picture LINK]

Let's talk Michigan turkeys | MLive.com: "The story of how the Broad Breasted White turkeys get from Farmer Linda’s gate to her customers’ Thanksgiving plates began in mid-May when she ordered 40 “poults” @$4.75 each from the Townline Poultry Farm and Hatchery in Zeeland, Michigan. Linda purchased a “straight run” (mix of hens and toms) and typically 60 – 70% of the birds are hens. "

MooPig Report from the Middle :: "TIME's Person of the Year 2011"

The World is Terribly Out of Balance, and has been for a while, Actually
by Pat Darnell | November 13, 2011 | Bryan TX

When TIME magazine was a legitimate magazine, in the last century, it had credibility. Its Person of the Year magazine cover articles were timely. *[Hehe -- chuckles]*

With ascent of digital data streams, TIME has run amok in many ways. It no longer depends on snail mail, and readers' responses for determining its main concentration for the past years. It uses online surveys, even though they are subjective, and it uses feelers, like web crawlers, to suss out a good candidate for Person of the Year.

If you have a faceBook account [a free entity open to everyone in the world] you can sign in to TIME and vote. You can also double check TIME's content, but that is another story.

When Ronald Reagan said, "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall," he was voted in as the potus P of the Y, eh? (TIME. Jan 5, 1981. HERE . Man of the Year 1981), and, (TIME. Dec 19, 2004. HERE. Person of the Year) Those were easy pickings. You get the idea, though. It is a yearly designation that balances the present conditions with a constituency of readers... right?

So, if you want that distinction, you can try a cryptic quote, like Reagan quoth, or look around for something and someone to believe in. MooPig voted YES to 99%-er.

The 99% - Who Should Be TIME's Person of the Year 2011? - TIME: "From tsunamis to budget battles to revolutions, 2011 has been a tumultuous, news-packed year. Who influenced the news most, for better or for ill? Tradition dictates that TIME's editors choose the Person of the Year, but we want to know: if you were in charge, who would it be? And remember, a person's inclusion as a 'candidate' in the poll doesn't mean he, she or they are serious candidates to be named Person of the Year by the magazine."

MooPig's "Who Would Win in a Bar Fight #3"

[Madoff Picture LINK]

Bernie Madoff

--OR--

Diederik Stapel

BACK STORY ON Diederik Stapel
Psychologist admits to faking dozens of scientific studies: "A preliminary investigative report issued on Monday by Tilburg University has concluded that dozens of research papers authored and co-authored by Stapel contain fabricated data.
"We have some 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals where we are actually sure that they are fake, and there are more to come," says Pim Levelt, chair of the committee that investigated Stapel's work. If all of these papers are withdrawn, Stapel's will become one of the worst cases of scientific misconduct in history." (Gonzalez, Robt T. 2 Nov 2011. HERE)
"Our field is one where a great deal of currency is placed on surprising you," says University of Connecticut psychologist Hart Blanton, who expects to have to retract two papers written in co-authorship with Stapel. In an interview with New Scientist, Blanton said that he was concerned about how the field may foster a dynamic that encourages researchers to progress from ""counter-intuitive, to cute, to provocative, to 'defies gravity'". "Challenges loom as world population hits 7 billion » Knoxville News Sentinel"

The Only Thing on Earth more Plentifully populated is Insects
Review by Pat Darnell | Nov 6, 2011 | Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]
Challenges loom as world population hits 7 billion » Knoxville News Sentinel:
"My father had 25 children — I have only 14 so far, and expect to produce more in the future," says Kasadha, who has two wives.
"It's an opportunity to bring the issues of population, women's rights and family planning back to center stage," ... said in an interview. "There are 215 million women worldwide who need family planning and don't get it. If we can change that, and these women can take charge of their lives, we'll have a better world." (Crary, David. 16 Oct 2011.)

"... Looking ahead, the U.N. projects that the world population will reach 8 billion by 2025, 10 billion by 2083. ..." (David Crary reported from New York. Associated Press writers Alexa Oleson in Beijing, Nirmala George in New Delhi, Angela Charlton in Paris, Daniel Woolls in Madrid, Victor Simpson in Rome, Onesime Niyungeko in Bujumbura, Burundi; Yinka Ibukun in Lagos, Nigeria, and Godfrey Olukya in Kampala, Uganda, also contributed to this report. Some say it is a time to "reassess." MooPig thinks it is time to develop a taste for insects, like delectable insect pate'.

Otherwise, as described, the situations of many people referenced in this article, there is not enough "food" to go around. That means protein is scarce.

MooPig is all about protein. We have our calf, and we have our pig... if it could be bred, it would here in Texas ... the MooPig -- half cow, half pig. Yummy! So far there is no such protein source, and its two meats are separated for genetic reason.

But if MooPig were available, like a Roman BBQ, we would be puking Veal-pork... and that's not all. We have side dishes too. But will insects become part of our digest? "A side of beetles, please."

In Post Modern world, gangs of people have little food, and share a small room for all functions, eating, sleeping, fracking, and what ever studying they might do ... cramped and stunted ... what is the point?
"Children were a good labor force in the past when there was enough space to cultivate," she said. "Today I can't even feed my family properly. My kids just spend days doing nothing." (Crary, David. 16 Oct 2011. ibid.)
That is sentiment from a Burundi wife and mother of four; " ... [A]nother of the fastest-growing countries is Burundi. With roughly 8.6 million people, it's the second most densely populated African country after neighboring Rwanda. (Crary. ibid.)..."

The majority of population in Nigeria is under 30, youthful: "... Ndyanabangi Bannet, the U.N. Population Fund's deputy representative in Nigeria, notes that 60 percent of the population is under 30 and needs to be accommodated with education, training and health care. (Crary. ibid.)..."

Nigeria is a massive country of almost 160 million people comprising 250 ethnic groups speaking 4000 dialects. In size, it is more than two and half times the size of California. Could anyone imagine a larger California with half the total USA population occupying its borders?

Further irony is that Italy is in its fourth year of zero population growth... among Italians that is:
"... [A] man uses a cane as he walks among other people through an open air market in Milan, Italy. In 2010, more Italians died than were born for the fourth consecutive year according to the national statistics agency. Italy's population nonetheless grew slightly to 60.6 million due to immigration, a highly charged issue across Europe. Italy's youth minister Giorgia Meloni said earlier this year that measures to reverse the birth rate require "millions in investment" but that the resources aren't available. (AP Photo/Luca Bruno) ... "
SUMMARY
Every Nigerian infrastructure and utility is at its limit -- power grid, potable water, food production, "... problems with traffic congestion, sanitation and water supplies are staggering; a recent article in UN-Habitat said two-thirds of the residents live in poverty.
" ... [in Mumbai] For nearly 7 million commuters who ride the overtaxed suburban rail network each work day, every ride is a scramble. Each car is jam-packed; sometimes, riders die when they lose their foothold while clinging to the doors. (Crary. ibid.) ..."
Population continues to grow in many parts of Africa, while European countries only grow in population because of immigration to their borders. Such as, " ... one reason is immigration to France by Africans with large-family traditions, but it's also due to family-friendly legislation. ..."

Incentives to reverse birth rates -- to the positive or to the negative -- remain controversial and difficult to enforce, if "enforce" is a good word to use here... "... Spain used to give parents 2,500 euros (more than $3,000) for every newborn child to encourage families to reverse the country's low birth rate. ..."
"China is always so proud of how quickly we brought down fertility from high to low, and how many births were avoided but I think we did it too quickly and reduced it to too low a level," says Gu. (Crary. ibid.) ..."
The conclusion is that low birth rates deplete the sources for supporting elderly populations. High birth rates produce mortal problems, challenging survival of the masses.
"If the young population remains uneducated, unskilled and unemployable, then that dividend would be wasted," says Shereen Jejeebhoy, a Population Council demographer in New Delhi. (Crary. ibid.) ..."
MooPig Wisdom says for starters: The modern society that develops a diet of insect protein will be the survivor of population surges. 'Nuff said.

MooPig's "Bar Codes"

No, This isn't about a Drinking Paradise...

RE: George Houghtby's Photos
‎(ALWAYS READ THE LABELS ON THE FOODS YOU BUY--NO MATTER WHAT THE FRONT OF THE BOX OR PACKAGE SAYS, TURN IT OVER AND READ THE BACK---CAREFULLY!
With all the food and pet products now coming from China , it is best to make sure you read label at the grocery store and especially Walmart when buying food products.
Many products no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located.
It is important to read the bar code to track it's origin.
How to read Bar Codes .... interesting!
This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.
GREAT WAY TO "BUY USA and CANADA " AND NOT FROM CHINA!!

The whole world is concerned about China-made "black hearted goods".
Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ?

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 690 691 or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA.
471 is Made in Taiwan .
This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the
public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA ", so they don't show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode - remember if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 FRANCE
40 - 44 GERMANY
471 .... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK

BUY USA and CANADIAN MADE by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number.
We need every boost we can get! Pass this on to everybody on your E-Mail Contact List!!
