MooPig Narcissus Department :: "Who Would Win in a Cage Match #2.1"

Submitted by Pat Darnell  |  June 29, 2013  |  Bryan TX

Ben Bernanke

-- vs --

Joseph Stalin

Faced with international crisis management decisions, both these narcissistic, poisonous, bunch-back'd toads will have been responsible for making policies that kill millions of people worldwide.

What might they do faced with one-on-one survival in the octagon cage of today? I would like to see this one, if only.

Joseph Stalin Biography - Facts, Birthday, Life Story - Biography.com: "Born on December 18, 1879, in Gori, Georgia, Joseph Stalin rose to power as General Secretary of the Communist Party, becoming a Soviet dictator upon Vladimir Lenin's death. Stalin forced rapid industrialization and the collectivization of agricultural land, resulting in millions dying from famine while others were sent to camps. His Red Army helped defeat Nazi Germany during WWII."

But what exactly does the Fed do? Chairman Bernanke explains what the Fed actually does and explains his job too.

The Federal Reserve System, often referred to as the Federal Reserve or simply "the Fed," is the central bank of the United States. It was created by the Congress to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary and financial system. The Federal Reserve was created on December 23, 1913, when President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act into law.

MooPig Financial Trends :: "Bank Subsidies"

Government Cheese
Re-fashioned by Pat Darnell | June 29, 2013 | Bryan TX

"This is a clear case of socialism for the rich, -- and rugged, you're-on-your-own individualism for everyone else." (Bernie Sanders)  [Picture/MEME from faceBook]

Why Should Taxpayers Give Big Banks $83 Billion a Year? - Bloomberg: "So what if we told you that, by our calculations, the largest U.S. banks aren't really profitable at all? What if the billions of dollars they allegedly earn for their shareholders were almost entirely a gift from U.S. taxpayers?"

'via Blog this'

On television, in interviews and in meetings with investors, executives of the biggest U.S. banks -- notably JPMorgan Chase and Co. Chief Executive Jamie Dimon -- make the case that size is a competitive advantage. It helps them lower costs and vie for customers on an international scale. Limiting it, they warn, would impair profitability and weaken the country’s position in global finance.

In June 2011 Bernie Sanders and crew audited for the first time ever "from top to bottom" the Federal Reserve. It revealed that $16 trillion was provided by American banks, during the greatest economic failure since the Great Depression. The trillions were used to bail out "American and foreign, banks and businesses.
" ... Among the investigation's key findings is that the Fed unilaterally provided trillions of dollars in financial assistance to foreign banks and corporations from South Korea to Scotland, according to the GAO report. "No agency of the United States government should be allowed to bailout a foreign bank or corporation without the direct approval of Congress and the president," Sanders said. (Sanders, Bernie. June 21, 2011. LINK ) ... "
In Senator Sander's report from his web site it is implied that no one knows what the Federal Reserve System is, or how it does what it does; except for those employed by it. Those few executive yes men and women sitting at CEO positions at FRBNY, Federal Reserve Bank New York, and others are privy to secret information known only to the owners of the Federal Reserve Banks. Central Banks of Europe are included in this banking cartel.

For example:
"...the CEO of JP Morgan Chase served on the New York Fed's board of directors at the same time that his bank received more than $390 billion in financial assistance from the Fed. Moreover, JP Morgan Chase served as one of the clearing banks for the Fed's emergency lending programs. (Sanders, Bernie. June 21, 2011. LINK ) ... "
CONCLUSION
If the Federal Reserve Bank were a mouth, it would be chock full of cavities. Deep, dark, secret caves exist in our financial system.

"Neither bank executives nor shareholders have much incentive to change the situation. On the contrary, the financial industry spends hundreds of millions of dollars every election cycle on campaign donations and lobbying, much of which is aimed at maintaining the subsidy. The result is a bloated financial sector and recurring credit gluts. Left unchecked, the superbanks could ultimately require bailouts that exceed the government’s resources. Picture a meltdown in which the Treasury is helpless to step in as it did in 2008 and 2009. (By the Editors. Feb 20, 2013. LINK and LINK) ... "

NEXT WEEK ::  The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 is scheduled to expire at midnight December 31, 2013. It's renewal needs to be stopped.

MooPig Paint, Home Improvement Department :: "What Color to paint the Bedroom"

Hasn't Been Painted for Thirteen Years

Suggestions? We have been under siege for too long. It is time to brighten up things. We can start with our bedroom, and work outward to the other rooms. Is that a plan?

I always go to Benjamin Moore for paint, call me old fashion. I fell in love with Ben Moore paints when I lived up north in Glenview. Also, I used Cabot Stains for the exteriors, like siding and door thresholds, with a little Penetrol added. Benjamin Moore Impervo Alkyd High Gloss Enamel is suitable for both exterior and interior surfaces. So I trimmed the exterior with Impervo, -- funny name I know.

When painting, it is best to use top of the line, because, like I said, we have not painted or remodeled since we moved into this place. So you want a paint that can penetrate the surfaces, and last for a decade or two.

MooPig Complaints Department :: "Ten Formal Complaints in Six Months"

Of Course Not about Us, Everybody Loves Us!
Snagged by Pat Darnell  |  June 25, 2013  |  Bryan TX

Ten Formal Complaints in Six Months: "Apparently after receiving three, you are meant to have some kind of formal meeting between the parties involved but this never happened. According to the rules, if there are five complaints, an external mediator has to be bought in. This didn't happen either and I was quite disappointed. I don't really have anything against Simon apart from the fact that he likes the band Nickelback and I have no idea what his problem with me is, as I'm pretty sure I am an absolute pleasure to work with.

I brought in donuts once, which is pretty nice. I found them in a bin and left them near Simon's desk. When he asked, "Who brought these donuts in?" I replied, "The girl from the shop across the road brought them in because they have too many" and watched him eat four, complaining between mouthfuls that they weren't very fresh. He would have eaten them all but stopped after finding a dead cricket in the box."

'via Blog this'

See Formal Complaint Forms F26-A  HERE ...
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s regulation at Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1614.102(b)(2) requires Federal agencies to establish or make available an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program. The ADR program must be available during both the pre-complaint stage and the formal complaint stage of the equal employment opportunity (EEO) complaint process.

ADR is a range of problem-solving approaches used for resolving conflict in lieu of more formal and/or adversarial processes, such as court litigation. ADR approaches may be used to resolve a portion of, or an entire claim. Such approaches usually involve the use of a neutral third party who works with the parties involved in the dispute to help them find mutually acceptable solutions.

Who Would Win in a Poker Game? #1

A Tribute
by Pat Darnell | June 22, 2013 | Bryan TX

James Gandolfini

--vs--

Steven Seagal

Long time actors who never strayed far from playing their favorite roles, as in always playing themselves, with lots of schmaltz, Seagal and Gandolfini might have faced each other in a poker game. Or not.

If you were holding five diamonds, and the bet was several thousand to you, would you still be able to stare these two down?

" ... New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has released an executive order that all flags in the state will be flown at half-staff on Monday, June 24 to "recognize the achievements and contributions" of James Gandolfini. (6/21/2013 by Michele Amabile Angermiller. LINK) ... "

MooPig FWD Email :: Miserable Terrorist

Snagged from email by Pat Darnell  |  June 18, 2013

[Picture LINK]

Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it?

Did you know his trial is over?
Did you know he was sentenced?
Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?
Didn't think so.!!!

Everyone should hear what the judge had to say.

Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.

Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his 'allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah,' defiantly
stating, 'I think I will not apologize for my actions,' and told the court 'I am at war with your country.'

Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:

Judge Young: "Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.

On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4 and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)

On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years, again to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000, that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.

The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you, five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.

This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.

Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice.

You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it, or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier, you are not-----, you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.

So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said:

'You're no big deal. '

You are no big deal.

What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have, as honestly as I know how, tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today?

I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty, and admit you are guilty, of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know.

It seems to me, you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom, so that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges.

We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden; pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.

Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice, is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers, will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.

See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America . That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will.

Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down."

So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need more judges like Judge Young. Pass this around. Everyone should, and needs to, hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home.

Please SEND this----so that everyone has a chance to read it.

MooPig Water Department :: "Potentially Drinkable Water"

Thirsty?
Conjoined articles by Pat Darnell  |  June 9, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

Pretty soon we will have to book a flight to Mars to get a drink of fresh, unadulterated, water.

Recently on Mars, the ten year old mission record breaking NASA's Opportunity, discovered what "Scientists believe ... a lot of water once flowed through these rocks through some sort of fracture, leaving an unusually high concentration of clay. (Agence France Presse. Jun. 8, 2013. LINK)"

In a temperate climate, on Earth, adequate intake of water for males is about 13 cups, and for females it is about 9 cups a day. Water makes up 60% of the adult's body weight. To keep your eyes, ears, and, throat moist, like they are supposed to be, requires adequate intake.

So at an average of 10.5 cups per human times 7 billion, ... [cursor blink, blink, |...|...|...] ... That's 73500000000 cups of water a day across Earth.

A note from USGS web page: "...Data compilation for the report Estimated Use of Water in the United States in 2010 had a delayed start in Fall 2011. Report completion and data availability are not expected until 2014. ... "

Potentially Drinkable Water Found On Mars - Business Insider: ""This is powerful evidence that water interacted with this rock and changed its chemistry, changed its mineralogy in a dramatic way," said principal investigator Steve Squyres of Cornell University. He described the research as "some of the most important" of the decade-long mission because it showcases a very different chemistry than most of the previous discoveries about water on Mars, which is now quite dry."

It makes evidence for the argument that there was water on Mars with balanced ph, "water that you could drink" about a billion years ago. But from this rock formation Opportunity has found "prebiotic" water, moisture that could support life forms.
"Opportunity and its twin rover Spirit launched in 2003 and landed in January 2004 for what was initially meant to be a three-month exploration. Both discovered evidence of wet environments on ancient Mars. (Agence France Presse. Jun. 8, 2013. LINK) ..."
  'via Blog this'

CONCLUSION
No water; no life.

The most pristine body of water on Earth is a lake in Australia. Scientists claim it is untouched by climate change for the last 7500 years. (Weather Channel. Jun 5, 2013. LINK)
" ... Blue Lake on Stradbroke Island, which lies off the south Queensland coast of Australia  ... The water here is so pure that the bottom of the nearly 33-ft.-deep lake is visible from the surface. ... "
Earth's population would drink that lake dry in one day, okay maybe in a week ... but you get the drift. Again, no water; no life.

MooPig Verbal Agreements Department :: "Reality TV Lawsuit"

What's Number One will Surprise You
Conjoined by Pat Darnell  |  June 6, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

Have you ever watched 'Pawn Stars' ? We have. Apparently for cable TV it is one of top ten shows out there. It has gotten so popular that copycat versions have "sprung off" it. The Harrisons own a Las Vegas pawn shop, which is the focus of The History Channel series Pawn Stars. Grand-Pop, Pop, and Son, Harrisons make up a "tri-generational" business.

With more than just a cult following, January 2011, Pawn Stars is History's highest-rated series. An original episode broadcast on January 24, 2011 was watched by seven million viewers, the most-watched telecast ever on History, according to the network and Nielsen Media Research.
Debuting in 2009, ''Pawn Stars'' is now the History Channel's top-rated show, and one of the highest-rated shows on cable television, averaging 5 million viewers per week. This month, [July 2011] Harrison signed a new, record-breaking 80-episode renewal contract for four more seasons of ''Pawn Stars.'' He's also released his first book, ''License to Pawn: Deals, Steals and My Life at the Gold and Silver'' (Hyperion).
That kind of gravy attracts the money grubbers. Five million viewers a week watch four fat men, good-god-and-land-a-sakes, for reals. Yes, there are consultants and fee seekers, and bombastic copy cats all closing in on the Harrisons.

For instance you can find on cable TV "Cajun Pawn Shop," and "Hollywood Pawn" and "Eat up with a Pawn" and first heard here: "MooPig Pawn" where we trade for your tender vittles.

With money grubbers comes always litigations.

Fired ‘Pawn Stars’ manager files lawsuit against reality TV stars - Las Vegas Sun News: "The lawsuit says that around May 2009, Jefferies entered into an oral agreement with the Harrisons to provide management services for the following:
• A $4,000 per monthly fee;
• 5 percent of eBay merchandise sales;
• 5 percent of Rick Harrison’s License to Pawn book;
• 10 percent of Pawn Stars’ slot machine deal;
• 5 percent of Pawn Stars’ coin deal;
• 5 percent of Pawn Stars’ credit card deal;
• 5 percent of Pawn Stars’ merchandise deals;
• 5 percent of the pawn store’s in-store merchandise sales;
• 10 to 15 percent of all paid personal appearances;
• 10 percent of proceeds related to the production and management of the Pawn Stars’ roadshow;
• 5 percent of an energy drink deal.

Jefferies said he also had an oral agreement with Russell for 10 percent of his gross revenue and 10 percent of merchandise deals. ... (Dave Toplikar. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. HERE) "

Usually, consultants work with firms and are rewarded if their work brings in dough. Most of the time the relationship ends in litigation.

'via Blog this'

CONCLUSION
To quote one of my favorite bloggers, Pribek, I submit this conclusion:
" ... I realize that my TV viewing, at this point, consists of baseball, old or straight-to-DVD movies on Netflix, ridiculous cooking contest scenario game shows and…the History Channel or the Arts and Entertainment network which, of course have nothing to do with history or art (entertaining though) but are instead a stew of new age versions of the Beverly Hillbillies (charming rednecks who have somehow goobered their way into a fortune and/or are somehow making their way through the modern age while retaining elements of hillbilly culture) and shows about pawn shops that depict scenes nothing like any the depressing collections of crap and human refuse that I've seen in real life pawn shops.
Go figure…  (Pribek, Jack. JUly 19, 2012. LINK) ... "
I am listening to this while I cogitate these articles ...

MooPig Cloning Department :: "Woolly Mammoth?"

The Rest is History
Cloned article by Pat Darnell  |  June 2, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK] 'We were really surprised to find mammoth blood and muscle tissue,' said Semyon Grigoriev, head of the Museum of Mammoths of the Institute of Applied Ecology of the North at the North Eastern Federal University. Picture: Semyon Grigoriev

We are noncommittal when it comes to cloning articles, which is what out MooPig Cloning Department usually does. But we didn't know which department to refer this story to, since we don't have any scientists aboard MooPig central. So we sent it to the cloning department.

Also we are sorry this LINK to The SUN is intermittent valid; we try to stay current... but alas we were too slow. Sometimes the Link works, sometimes it doesn't.

Now, we are just showing off. How does this fit into the current flow of things, having a blood sample from an extinct animal? You ask? No? Oh, but it does figure in.

While the world of humans tumbles into obscurity, making humans the next big Extinction Level Event on Earth, we should go out with at least a few Wooly Mammoths around. Their remains will totally confuse the next gen of humanoid explorers, as they try to piece together ancient times.

Woolly mammoth found with blood in veins boosts chance of cloning | The Sun |News: "Hwang Woo Suk, a stem cell scientist who created the world’s first cloned dog in 2005, said that once the tissues had been treated to a nuclear transfer process, eggs would be implanted into the womb of a live elephant for a 22-month pregnancy. Semyon Grigoriev, chairman of the university's Museum of Mammoths and head of the expedition, said: "The fragments of muscle tissues, which we've found out of the body, have a natural red colour of fresh meat."

'via Blog this'
" ... A perfectly preserved woolly mammoth carcass with liquid blood has been found on a remote Arctic island, fueling hopes of cloning the Ice Age animal, Russian scientists said Thursday.

The carcass was in such good shape because its lower part was stuck in pure ice, said Semyon Grigoryev, the head of the Mammoth Museum, who led the expedition into the Lyakhovsky Islands off the Siberian coast.

"The blood is very dark, it was found in ice cavities below the belly and when we broke these cavities with a poll pick, the blood came running out," he said in a statement released by the North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk, which sent the team.

Wooly mammoths are thought to have died out around 10,000 years ago, although scientists think small groups of them lived longer in Alaska and on islands off Siberia. (abc13. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. LINK) ... "
CONCLUSION
We don't know what we are talking about, do you?
