I don't want to scare you now, but our greatest minds work in teams. At the top are the Theorists, accompanied by mathematicians, surrounded by interns, funded by corporations, ... and so on.

I would have been a Physicist except I couldn't handle the math.

MooPig Physical Science Department is a windowless room in our basement, where few seldom go. Think about it; your kid grows up and is stellar in his math and language skills, goes through college like a hot butter knife, then tells you he wants to be a Physicist. eh?

It's like telling your dad who pours concrete for a living that you want to become a cloistered monk. One time I told my Dad I wanted to become a psychiatrist. That went over like Katrina with Dad.

When discussing cosmology and theory of Everything, I read about "teams of Physicists." so we Google, and search Reddit, for "Teams of Physicists," with this result: " ...team of theoretical physicists led by researchers from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University .... "

You know where I'm going with this, don't you? I want to know who is the left tackle and the pulling guard on the team. I want a breakdown on various conferences and bowl games schedules. I want, want, want ... to know who the team members are! Don't you want to know?

The question is how long until football references are used to describe breaking developments in Physics, by teams of Physicists? I want to know how to play Fantasy Physics. If only we could pick and choose our teams and pit them against each other.

TWO ARMIES of scientists ... Aha! There's your reference to Armies! That'll work. But the question remains: for Physics, Cosmology, and Anthropic events to be trending at the top of Newsvine's will need more than some sports references in their jargon. Let's all get behind that.

WOW ... I really strayed there. Sorry 'bout that.

CONCLUSION
The rigors that bring society all its consumable products and tech's is found in the work of teams of physicists. Isn't it about time for John Q Internet to have a good source of what these teams are up to? If Physical Science wants to expand its views to include the improvement of the human condition it might have to loosen up its hard line math models and include some sports references to its viewpoints.

January 12, 2013 will mark three years of misery, tragedy, and homelessness for 358,000 people in rough tent cities and camps around Port au Prince. During those three years refugee Haitians have been exposed to "crime wave, a cholera outbreak and - from time to time - hurricanes." Haitians wonder when there will be relief for them.

" ... The 2010 disaster triggered a global outpouring of sympathetic rhetoric and pledges of aid for the already impoverished Caribbean nation, but residents and aid agencies complain that rebuilding and re-development has been too slow. (SAPA. 2013-01-11 12:30. HERE) ... "

"We are without support," complained Wisly Decimus, a former teacher who has given up trying to run classes in a tent in the Marassa camp, just outside the capital, where 5,000 people cling to life beside a dangerous river.

"We have been abandoned by the authorities. January 12 will be the anniversary of three years of suffering, misery and contempt," he spat.

Three years ago on January 13th, 2010 this story made the news:

For now the refugees get a wreath and rhetoric:

" ... In the late morning, Clinton, the U.N. special envoy to Haiti, joined Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe in placing a wreath at a mass burial site north of the capital of Port-au-Prince. None of the three spoke at the event.

Clinton expressed hope about Haiti's future in brief comments to reporters after the ceremony.

"I think that you will see, particularly in the economic sphere, a lot more in the coming year, where Haiti is projected to have the highest growth rate in the Caribbean," he said. "Well, we hope to speed up some of the infrastructure. We have to repair the agriculture and ... build a lot more houses. We've got to get those people out of those tents."

And, last but not least, Sean Penn has worked at organizing relief for Haiti:

" ... Sean Penn has spent the last two years helping the relief effort in Haiti, and he's got little time for those who have long abandoned the country.

"It's not only celebrities who went for a day," Penn said at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday when asked about the lack of support for the Haitian relief effort. "It's the whole f--king world. It's all of you."

Following the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in January of 2010, Penn headed to the country and helped set up J/P Haitian Relief Organization, an aid group that rebuilt homes, schools and hospitals. For his efforts, Penn was awarded with the 2012 Peace Summit Award by the Nobel Peace Prize laureates, and also became an ambassador-at-large for the country.

I have seen both sides of human survival now. I have seen the Mitt Romney nouveau riche bunch, where nouveau riche describes rich people who acquired their wealth within their own generations ... the equivalent English term is the new rich; ... and I might have seen some of the worst poverty stricken masses.

Whenever I traveled I tried to at least see what is going on in the community I stayed. In Mexico I stayed with my family in a pretty nice hotel, but from the window I could see naked children running and playing soccer in the woods behind the building. If I opened the window they would run up and ask for money.

In Osaka, Japan, I saw no poverty. Associates there took me to the "bad parts" of town, and it looked like "One Mag Mile" of Chicago. In Chicago, I would walk on one side of a street, like Lake Shore Drive, and it was swank high-rise apartment/condo -- while just across the street was high urban density bric-a-brac ...

Here in Haiti, after so much western countries pledging billions to reconstruct post earthquake conditions, there are many projects not even started after three years.

Here in Bryan Texas, the Lutherans threw up a solid brick, buttressed hexagonal, 'cathedral' church in just a few months. Now it sits on a busy road, with its moving message sign flickering about its services. I am a skeptic, because a good builder a minister does not make. Maybe the wrong people are in charge over there in Haiti?

This, the Haiti earthquake aftermath, is a carbuncle on the face of humanity, that such boastful pledging goes without follow up. Eh? We don't like bombast, for an other-wise great cause, here at MooPig Enterprises. We scorn it.

This thick tangle of iron rebar is all that remains of the shattered National Palace that was finally demolished earlier this year.

A boy rested on the edge of a construction site in Cabaret, outside Port-au-Prince. The American government had promised to complete 156 houses there, but earlier this month only about a dozen had been completed, and they lacked doors and windows.

In the mountain town of Furcy, Haiti, some 480 students cram into two small, makeshift schools planted in the heart of a construction site for their new school. Construction was halted on this and 20 other school sites when inspectors discovered construction error and design flaws indicating they would not be safe during earthquakes.

While construction on their new school is stalled, students attended classes in a makeshift structure without electricity.

Sixth-graders in their temporary classroom, lighted only by the natural light that seeps through the gaps between partial walls and tin roofs.

A partly demolished section of the General Hospital in Port-au-Prince that is still being used as a holding area for patients being prepped for surgery. A $70 million reconstruction of the hospital by the American, French and Haitian governments, announced in September 2010, has yet to begin.

The emergency room of a newly finished teaching hospital in Mirebalais, outside the disaster zone. The hospital, built by the nonprofit Partners in Health, which plans to run it jointly with the Haitian government, has not yet secured its first-year operating budget.

Dieudonne Zidor, a local elected leader who represents the Campeche neighborhood of Port-au-Prince. “As you can see, conditions are calamitous,’’ she said.

Nadain Janvier, 29, repaired a leaking roof with tarp material on his makeshift home in the Campeche neighborhood of Port-au-Prince. Mr. Janvier has lived here since his home on this site was destroyed almost three years ago in the earthquake.

Charles Frantz, 46, and his family live in the Campeche neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, a jumble of tents, half-destroyed buildings and makeshift shacks. Campeche has been the focus of millions of dollars in reconstruction aid but has seen little progress.

MooPig, God love us, has been promoting Salt Lake City for several years in hope that the Nation's Capitol could be re-found there. We think it is the most likely and a safest location in the whole lower 48 states. Washington DC is a great place for history, but many civilizations have moved their capitols over the eons. Did anyone catch the story about the Capitol Building was condemned by fire safety inspections several years ago? Congress Persons and Senators would be incinerated as they would be unable to escape the premise. Inadequately arranged for egress in the event of a fire...

I suggest a quick move would eliminate about 40% of the bureaucracy. We could maintain the DC as a Disney theme park, no problem. It would be a huge success. How can a Beijing bureaucrat just wave his magic wand and Babooommm there's a Billion HKD Stadium called the Nest... and Olympic Village, and shut down the entire city during the Games... I ask the USA, WTF? One Chinese Red Bureaucrat did all that by proclamation... eh Barry? You've been on the government pay wagon for a long time now. You are as Bureaucrat as all the Kennedy's, the So Little Rock Clonetons, and the Tumbling Bush's. Possibly listen to good judgement?

Why doesn't anyone see my vision? Am I just another Hinckley, on another Ground Hog Day Feb 2, 2009? Will I not be heard? Every schmuck knows the Baltimore site for the capitol is no longer defensible... even a shiite can figure that one out. Maybe I should write a book [oh, wait I already have]... any way a book that came to pass, that tells of a nation bedraggled and could not defend its own capitol economically and floundered into obscurity... As well as formal groups around certain types of photography on Flickr (like this HDR group for beginners) there are the more impromptu adhoc communities that form around just one photo. It means that whereas destination sites' half-lives were relatively short, the half-life of a "insta-community" photograph like this becomes very much longer. Flickr, in this case, is an organisation that has created more by doing less - less intervention, less 'management' of community, less structure around debate.

How much does the individual have to give up to get to the action. Sharing is easiest, collaboration is harder and collective action hardest.
