Another Opening, Another Show
by Pat Darnell | Jan 20, 2013 | Bryan TX
The International Consumer Electronics Show is innovation. However, CES, January 6th through 11th, 2013, has been criticized as "lacking" in luster. Several reasons make it so: manufacturers have their own time tables for moving their new products. Such as Microsoft, who released Windows 8 in October 2012, and all the innovative, new laptops followed. All happening before the trade show and exposition.
In the past new products were most often showcased at the CES which has been in January over the years. Here are some of the innovative products you can expect in the coming months.
These items caught the eye of the poor bastards down in MooPig's Electronics Department in the basement.
Huh?
Tactus' morphing touchscreen was quite likely our all-around favorite device at the show. It combines a great idea with interesting potential and that full-on science fiction wow when you first see the "keyboard" inflate. Tactus hopes to see products shipping with its tactile touchscreen this year in devices ranging from phones to devices for the visually impaired. We wish them well and look forward to checking out what may eventually come of this technology.
At first glance the HAPILABS HAPIfork seems more novelty than tech -- and may well prove to be -- but it definitely stepped away from the norm and garnered a pile of attention. The idea is you use the fork as you normally would, but it keeps track of how long you eat, how quickly and how many bites you take. It then shares these metrics with a Runtastic-like site. Eat too quickly and the fork or spoon -- the end is detachable -- will vibrate to let you know to slow down a touch. The $99 HAPIfork ships in Q2 this year.
CES 2013: top 10 moments | News | TechRadar: " Xi3 Corporation and Valve talk Steam-powered Piston Gaming is usually a sideshow at CES, but it stole major spotlight this year thanks to an announcement by Valve. The company chosen to be Valve's first public partner in this venture is the Xi3 Corporation. Xi3 has a CES presence, too. They showed off the Piston, said to be the fruit of their partnership with Valve.
While their representatives wouldn't talk specs or availability, or even refer to the prototype as a Steam Box, Xi3 already has powerful and compact systems on the market. Like the rest of the gaming community, our curiosity was piqued. The possibility of a machine like this bringing PC gaming to the living room, and competing with the upcoming Xbox 720 and PS4 is beyond exciting."

Playing around with ThinkGeek's table full of toys was unquestionably a highlight of 2013 CES experience, which is (thankfully) nearly at an end. In amongst the always awesome licensed Star Trek and Star Wars toys was the Princip Interactive LED Futuro Cube, a strange game device created with ThinkGeek. The device brings to mind the Rubik's Cube, if only because its a geometrical puzzle game. In place of colored squares are a series of different colored LED lights.
Like Rubik's famous three-dimensional toy, the Futuro isn't particularly easy to master. It has a menu system and offers up a series of audible commands to access its different games. Getting started takes a quick shake and it can be put to sleep with couple of taps. There's also a USB port on one side for downloading software updates, including new games.
Nokia is here to show that the maker community isn’t alone in its love for 3D printing. The mobile phone maker has released a 3D-printing Development Kit, cutely named 3DK for short, that gives people the files and information they need to print a custom Lumia 820 back case.
The company is essentially making it possible for its users to tailor their phone to their tastes, an unusual move in a space where companies exert tight control over their technologies and design innovations. Nokia is, according to Nokia, the first major phone company to do this.
It released the files for the Lumia 820 back shell on Friday. They can be found on the company’s developer site here, here and here.

MooPig Clandestine Operations Department :: "International Man of Mystery Running for Public Office?
Just Google "173%, Romney, Panama ..."
Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Jan 19, 2013 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK] It is up to us to figure out who the culprits are, and what their methods are, who ruined our beloved country. We the people are responsible to end all corruption.
Bernie Madoff was thrown in jail, right? Bernie Madoff made 10.5% on his bogus returns... and got caught when he couldn't produce the cash to investors.
Why then is Romney free today after skimming his 173% returns on investments while heading up his company Bain Capital? That is why he wouldn't "release" his tax returns; because he usurped funds from secret operations, putting skimmed profits into foreign accounts, writing checks to his thug bosses, and chopping up company's in corporate hit-man fashion.
Who are the thug bosses -- start with the Bush's. How many of the jokers are loose today via CIA clandestine operations? Most of them aren't running for public office ... I don't think. That is how Robmoney got his mission in life twisted around.
Hey, Mitt, you can't be the International Man of Mystery and also run for Prez ... and that is why we make Mitt Robmoney the Dumbass of the 21st Century, before the century even gets started.
It is just one of many expose's of the retardation of the International Man of Mystery, Mitt Romney... and we can now say this type of crap is the mode of operations for most of our leadership in Washington... headed up by the venomous Bush's.
Corruption Mitt Romney: International Man of Mystery: "a decade of 173% yearly returns, Bain Capital, BrasscheckTV, Cocaine, Dick Cheney, George Bush Sr., Iran-Contra, Mitt Romney, money-laundering, narco-trafficking, Panama, The Bain Game, The Bush-Romney Connection"
Mitt Romney is a pitiful case ...

" ... This clip makes it pretty clear as to what Bain Capital and its CEO were up to throughout the 1990s and it explains the real source of Mitt Romney's phenomenal success as an asset manager.
So much of this information is publicly available, it is shocking that it's never previously been presented so clearly.
Firstly, Mitt Romney's close relationship with George Bush Sr. and Dick Cheney are newsworthy -- and it's also newsworthy that these close ties have NOT been in the news.
Secondly, the "Bain Game" played by Romney: when he left the management consulting firm, Bain and Company in 1989 to form his own company, of which he was the President, CEO and the sole stockholder, the name of his new company was "Bain Capital."
What? He left Bain and Company to form Bain Capital, a corporation with no legal ties to his former boss, Bill Bain?
As the President, CEO and sole stockholder of Bain Capital, Romney could write checks, contracts, audits -- he could do anything without ever having to explain anything to anyone about what went on at that company.
He had specifically set up Bain Capital in such a way that he could operate in complete secrecy. Why?
On July 19, 2012, the Los Angeles Times reported that Mitt Romney's super-secret Bain Capital had managed to pay out the staggeringly unreal average yearly return of 173% to its investors -- for over a decade!
Most of the funds which investors put into Bain Capital were channeled through corporations set up in Panama, long known to be a haven of secretive banking -- and of cocaine money laundering.
The State Department officially refers to Panama as the "Primary repository and conduit for Colombian and Mexican narco-trafficking cartels." Watch [the above] clip and don't let your jaw break when it hits the floor!
It is just one of many expose's of the retardation of the International Man of Mystery, Mitt Romney... and we can now say this type of crap is the mode of operations for most of our leadership in Washington...

South Dakota witness says multiple UFOs watched over four days - National ufo | Examiner.com: Story captured by Pat Darnell | Jan 18, 2013 | Bryan TX
'via Blog this'
None of these people pictured were in South Dakota, they weren't even on time for their own appointments. In fact they are only images of the people who were in the news today, for various reasons: wardrobe failure, pill popping, same sex kissing ...
But did you know that in South Dakota, crazy lights in the sky showed up for 4 days around January 6th?
That should add to the suspense of the night.
YANKTON, South Dakota | EXCERPT "... I couldn't help but notice what looked like police lights ('cherries' or whatever they're called) in the sky to the south," the witness stated. "I was pretty sure there weren't any cop cars flying around that night, and the part of the sky I was looking at is a pretty busy flight path. On any day at any time of the day I see planes and especially helicopters flying by, usually flying northeast. This was definitely not a plane or helicopter."
Then the witness noticed a smaller object being ejected from the larger object. ... "

"A smaller thing like it appeared to fly out of and away from the first object. Its flight trajectory was a sort on parabolic curve toward the ground."
The second object seemed to affect cows on the ground nearby.
"And as soon as object number two disappeared behind background trees and houses I heard a herd of cows about a mile away freak out briefly. Nothing really happened; no cows were harmed and the diving craft didn't crash. But seeing that made me realize that there may be more of them. I looked around at the sky and spotted about four more of them but all were either smaller or at higher altitude than the first one."These light patterns have been spotted now for four consecutive days.

"But every night there seems to be more of them. Thursday there were maybe about three or four of them. Friday, January 4, 2013, there were about six of them. Saturday night at about 1 a.m. there were at least 11. While I write this it's about 6:30 p.m. and they seem to have started early because instead of being on the eastern horizon, right now they are almost directly overhead, and other new developments are that they must be lower because they are much easier to see."
As the witness was writing the report, one object appeared to be at or near ground level."And about 15 minutes ago I saw something with all of those same flashing lights, but was much closer to the ground and I can see the shape of it - maybe triangle or stealth fighter shape. There are no military bases around here or anything else that should bring so much aircraft other than the usual traffic of private planes, crop duster planes and medical helicopters. Tonight is as interesting as all the other nights so, I guess the story continues to unfold."

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on January 6, 2013. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Yankton is a city in and the county seat of Yankton County, SD, population 14,454.
South Dakota is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. South Dakota had 2 reports in December 2012 - the 43rd highest reporting state while California had 75 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
You can read more details about other recently reported cases at the UFO Examiner home page.
The following is the unedited report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If South Dakota MUFON State Director Jim Klancnik investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update. Please report UFO activity to MUFON.com.
HERE IS THE UFO REPORT AS WRITTEN:
January 3, 2013, 10:30 p.m., Yankton, Yankton County, SD - for 4 consecutive nights, becomes visible on east horizon after dark, then between 8 pm and 6am move across sky going west. Case 45060.

on Thur Jan 3rd I went outside to smoke and was about ready to go to bed. It was about 10:15 pm. MooPig Brain Industries :: Google Zeitgeist 2012

What Google Zeitgeist 2012 Tells Us About Us | News and Opinion | PCMag.com: "Evidently, we really want to know about Whitney Houston, Gangnam Style, and Hurricane Sandy. The 2012 Top Google Searches were: Whitney Houston, Gangnam Style, Hurricane Sandy, iPad 3, Diablo 3, Kate Middleton, Olympics 2012, Amanda Todd, Michael Clarke Duncan, and BBB12."
Is that all there is? Nope.
'via Blog this'
We search the web for answers to our questions; what are our questions? Can they be translated to show our quests? ... Quests beyond just consumerism?
The 2012 Google mind map is too large but not unmanageable. It shows us the way to 1.2 trillion searches; 146 languages. That is roughly the capacity of one human brain; sure you cold learn 146 languages if you had to.
From Scientific American:
MooPig Brain Industries Department thinks that the day you see an aisle in the Walgreen's with the sign "Brain Products" posted, that will be the sign that machines have advanced to the realm of competitor.
Or, when your pet can play BorderLands as well as your teenager, that could be the sign that machines have "evolved."
So, regrettably your mind could be supplanted by terabytes of computer power, before you have a mind. But that is the way of the future; Or is it?
It is hard to believe that the Apollo 11 spacecraft had a computer with only 2k of memory and 32k of storage. Earlier missions had relied upon as little as 24k of core read-only storage, and 1k of main memory.
Moore’s Law ... which originated around 1970 ... simplified version states that processor speeds, or overall processing power for computers will double every two years. The limitation which exists is that once transistors can be created as small as atomic particles, then there will be no more room for growth in the CPU market where speeds are concerned.
On the other hand, ... perhaps molecular computers, quantum computers can takeover when silicon power is exhausted. But then the question is, what’s the timeframe?
Hey, our brains are three dimensional. But, did you, reader, catch that -- "heat and leakage" -- we might want to tweak our brains in this age of techno-barbarism; all that leakage will catch up with us.
Using natural human curiosity and Google search, will we download our brains?

From Scientific American:
" ...The human brain consists of about one billion neurons. Each neuron forms about 1,000 connections to other neurons, amounting to more than a trillion connections. If each neuron could only help store a single memory, running out of space would be a problem. You might have only a few gigabytes of storage space, similar to the space in an iPod or a USB flash drive. Yet neurons combine so that each one helps with many memories at a time, exponentially increasing the brain’s memory storage capacity to something closer to around 2.5 petabytes (or a million gigabytes). For comparison, if your brain worked like a digital video recorder in a television, 2.5 petabytes would be enough to hold three million hours of TV shows. You would have to leave the TV running continuously for more than 300 years to use up all that storage. (Paul Reber, professor of psychology at Northwestern University. April 19, 2010. HERE) ... "A reader comments:
"... I'm sure this is just a mistake in editing; after all, even Neuroscience for Kids gets the number of neurons right: 100 billion neurons and a quadrillion synapses. Since your estimates here are magnitudes of order wrong, though, and if they were used for further calculations, doesn't that make the rest of your calculations in error as well? (ibid.) ..."It's not yet an exact science, neither brain industry nor Google zeitgeist. the author above, Reber, goes on to explain:
" ..."The human brain consists..." I should have gone with the commonly held estimate of ~100 billion. However, in terms of the numbers of neurons in the brain likely to participate in long-term memory of facts, events and episodes, 1 billion neurons is not a bad estimate. That might be surprising, but if you look into the details, e.g. a report trying to estimate the number of neurons, [Report LINK] (ibid.)... "The point being a year of Google activity is equivalent to one regular, everyday human brain. There are those who think once the "machine" surpasses the brain's capacity to think and adapt, it will become our ... lord - boss - teacher - owner - maestro ... or what ever supplants the human brain in capacity is called.

" ... In fact, Intel Corporation is now going to three-dimensional chips, chips that compute not just flatly in two dimensions but in the third dimension. But there are problems with that. The two basic problems are heat and leakage. (MICHIO KAKU. MARCH 7, 2012, 12:00 AM. HERE) ... "CONCLUSION

" ... Our brain is a learning machine. It encounters tasks and then learns how to overcome these tasks, one by one. So that's going to be the basic problem. Simply digitalizing information, that's easy, we can simply scan information into a computer. But, you see, our brains learn. We learn to adapt new ideas, we begin to learn new tasks and new things. And that's going to be a lot more difficult to replicate by computer. So, I personally don't think we're going to see that in our lifetime. (MICHIO KAKU. JANUARY 19, 2011, 12:00 AM. HERE) ... "Let the wild rumpus continue. And, be good to your brain, it's got a lot on its mind!

Attrition: Robots are Here to Stay

Historically, technology takes jobs, and, makes jobs for us. Some are thinking that technology today is outdistancing human performance at the jobsites; sorting robots, manufacturing robots, stock-trading robots.
It is puzzling, what is this interviewee selling? Is he a whistle blower or a lobbyist for robotics? We think he is trying to warn humanity that technology is going to over take it. Some may call that DOOM-SAYER -- we call it Attrition.

" ... The world is fundamentally changing; the economic assumptions that currently gird our society will be meaningless in as soon as a few decades. And we’d better get ready to prepare for that shift—if we don’t adjust the current socio-economic structure, we’re going to have mass joblessness, and society-wide chaos. We’re going to need to fundamentally reform not just our policies but our attitudes towards work. We’re going to need to re-engineer the social safety net from the ground up to account for the fact that robots are taking over on the labor front. (Brian Merchant. motherboard.vice.com | Posted: Jan 15, 2013. HERE) ... "The winner in robotics development is Manufacturing and Distribution. Simple robots doing simple but necessary tasks; it is a remarkable scene. "What’s the point of building society around a 40-hour work week, after all, when robots are doing all the heavy lifting?
