MooPig Follow-up Department :: "War Crimes of Bush Era"

Is Germany Filing War Crimes Charges Against George Bush And Dick Cheney?: "The problem with the stories from Ryan Denson and Tiffany Willis (besides from being very misleading and using large chunks of the original text with a couple of words changed) is that human rights groups don’t have the ability to indict anybody for war crimes. The German government could take up the case as this group has requested, but doing so would jeopardize German relations with the United States, which is a strong ally and fellow member of NATO. In addition to that, Brookings points out that indicting anyone for war crimes and attempting to prosecute them creates diplomatic issues that have to be taken into careful consideration."

"...Cheney’s claim that he would approve torture again highlights a key question: Are top officials above the law, and will the impunity of today lead to more abuses in the future? The question spans a wide chain of command from Cheney, President Bush and other White House officials, who kickstarted the torture program after 9/11; to the lawyers in the Justice Department, who drafted the memos providing legal cover; to the CIA officials, who implemented the abuses and misled Congress and the public; and to the military psychologists, who helped devise the techniques inflicted on prisoners at U.S. military prisons and secret black sites across the globe..." (Gonzalez, Juan--Democracy NOW! Dec 19, 2014. LINK)

CONCLUSION
The issue is "Did we torture or did we not torture?" There is no middle ground for this activity so loved by Cheney and Dubya, Rumsfeld and Rice. Torture is still amoral, up there with cannibalism, and only in America could these people get away with it, is what we are telling the world?

If I were Dubya, Cheney or the others I would drink myself blind and shoot myself. But that won't happen. So, more questions are raised than can be answered.

Dyno-Bird

Who is it?
Retrieved by Pat Darnell

You guessed it: the Turkey
Turkey has the hollow bones and hip-shape of the first dinosaur raptors; also turkeys have scales on their legs to this day relating them to raptors that got up on two legs to hunt 208 million years ago. About 130 million years ago micro raptor glided over head, while veloci-raptor hunted on the ground. Turkeys today are warm blooded, yet lay eggs. Turkeys are the only living remnant of the dinosaurs according to updated fossil records. Eh?

That is why MooPig Defense Analysts cannot understand the slur in the title:

Raptor ... or Turkey? (Final Part) [Source]
by David Axe
"My own take: Sure, the F-15 and F-16 might be equal or even slightly superior (when pilot training, weapons and joint and industry support are considered). But for how long, in light of continued Flanker development? And since when is parity enough? Don't our pilots deserve better?

"If the United States is to maintain air dominance, it needs the [Lockheed Martin] F-22 [Raptor]," 1st Fighter Wing Captain Elizabeth Kreft said point-blank at the end of our Aug. 10 meeting.
"We've already sunk $25 billion into Raptor development. That money is irrecoverable. Further jets cost only around $115 million (perhaps twice as much as a new F-16) and will get even cheaper. We should get a good return on our investment. A good return, in my estimation, means a full fleet of at least 381 Raptors in 10 or more full-strength squadrons. That should guarantee air dominance for another 30 years or more. (Axe, David; August 17, 2006 04:14 PM | Raptor Watch |at defensetech.com),
The Turkey [the bird] Deserves better Treatment
It turns out the Raptor F-22 is a Turkey by default; proof's in the Fossil Record

"This is the last great, unexplored dinosaur bone yard in the lower 48 states," said Scott Sampson, the museum's chief curator who wrote the journal article with Zanno.

Mike Getty, collections manager at the university's Museum of Natural History, found the fossils in 2001. Scientists needed several years to excavate the fossils and publish their findings, he said.

The dinosaur had a strong toothless beak, powerful arms and formidable claws that made it capable of eating animals and plants. Large feathers grew on its hind end, giving it a resemblance to a turkey, Zanno said today.
Fossils from a new species of birdlike dinosaur resembling a 2.1 metre brightly coloured turkey and which could run at up to 40 kph have been found in southern Utah.
Fossils of the meat-eater's hand-like claw and foot found in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument near the Arizona border in Utah, give paleontologists reason to believe some dinosaurs known as raptors roamed from Canada to northern New Mexico about 75 million years ago.
