Ego of Billionaires is Implausible
Data Remix by Pat Darnell  |  March Madness 23, 2015  |  Bryan TX

Not to worry. Billionaires are too far out of the loop to ever get their way. HA! Who talks to them after their first fortune? Only people trying to stroke the ego's of billionaires remain in the loop. To be in the Wilk's entourage, we imagine one would have to take a lot of abuse.

So where did they manage to make all their b-b-b-billions?
"...Last year, [2013] the Wilkses added about 12,380 acres to their Fergus County holdings alone, where they now hold title to about 91,450 acres – about 143 square miles. In nearby Golden Valley County to the south, the Wilks brothers added more than 8,700 acres to their holdings in 2013, boosting their property there to about 43,750 acres. In adjacent Musselshell County, their holdings held steady at 64,000 acres, land that encompasses the Pronghorn Ranch previously owned by Earl Holding of Sinclair Oil fame.
As of 2012, the brothers owned 276,000 acres in seven Montana counties, not counting their holdings in other states.
The Wilks brothers acquired their fortune from selling their interest in Frac Tech in 2011, a deal that was reportedly worth $3.2 billion. Frac Tech was an oil fracking business, the same technology that’s being used to fuel North Dakota’s Bakken oil shale boom (BRETT FRENCH Billings Gazette. Mar 1, 2014. LINK)..."

If you want to make big bucks in this country, 'guess you have to own lots of land and all its mineral rights. I am not making any friends by looking down on robber baron's largess ... if I were a person with position and/or power, as a person who has something to lose, I might profess a totally different cause for this tirade. But for now I am in a dither about the wasting of our land.
"...A scam is a fraudulent business scheme, or a swindle, and a deliberate ploy to defraud ignorant, naïve, and stupid people out of their money or assets.  There are many reasons idiots fall for obviously dubious “deals,” and stupidity aside, greed is often the culprit. But fear of losing something certainly plays a role. Republicans have had a thirty year run convincing stupid poor people looking to get rich, and morons terrified of other Americans taking their “stuff,” that giving up everything they have to the wealthy will magically transform a dirt-poor imbecile into a billionaire, save Americans’ liberty in the process, and teach the government who’s boss.(Rmuse. Sunday, March, 22nd, 2015. LINK)..."
This all started with this article:
Meet the Billionaire Brothers You Never Heard of Who Fund the Religious Right: "The fracking boom has produced a surge in wealthy Texans. The fracking boom has produced a surge in wealthy Texans. In 2002, the Wilks brothers created Frac Tech, which produced equipment used in fracking, or in industry parlance, “well stimulation services.”  In May 2011, Dan and Farris sold Frac Tech to a group of investors led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund for $3.5 billion. Their share was reportedly 68 percent of that total, and they showed up on the 2011 Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion each.  The most recent Forbes list put their estimated wealth at $1.5 billion each. (In our gilded age, that puts them near the bottom of the Forbes 400, and barely gets them into the top 40 in Texas. But you can still do an awful lot with $3 billion.)"

And, why are billionaires always "moralists?"
"...CBN’s Brody reported: “The Wilks brothers worry that America’s declining morals will especially hurt the younger generation, so they’re using the riches that the Lord has blessed them with to back specific goals.” One of those goals may be David Lane’s insistence that politicians make the Bible a primary textbook in public schools (ibid. ) ..."

Small fish need not join this ring of fire. [At this point in time I am having second thoughts about the simplest thing, re-financing my little house and property.] You see, Timmy, when you are dealing out there, and you are a high roller, very few legal actions are followed. Most of the robber land barons depend on loopholes, stealth, extortion, and any other means to achieve their objective to own "land." Citizen groups usually find out about a shady land deal two to three years after it has been developed. Then the local politicians are just a bunch of "small fish" barking at the moon.

In land deals it takes about ten to twelve years to realize the returns on investment. Holding large parcels of land can be paid for by divvying up small parts of the whole and selling off to developers.

CONCLUSION
My bonnie lies over the ocean ... my bonnie lies over the sea ... this ditty is just like a land deal. The meaning is unclear, the outcome is based on some sort of shielded loyalty, it depends on a minority largess in heaps, and just doesn't quell the angry spirit of the excluded class. You see, the bonnie is not a girl at all, it is 'Bonnie Prince Charlie' (Y ikki peed ya. LINK).

And we often say we are going to quit writing about billionaires, and kings, and hucksters, but we still find them as good contrast to the middle class that reads us as we go along. Here is a Boy Scout version of 'Bring Back ...'
My mother makes beer in the bathtub,
My father makes synthetic gin,
My sister makes fudge for a quarter,
Wouldja believe how the money rolls in?
My mother, she drowned in the bathtub,
My father, he died from his gin,
My sister choked on her chocolate,
My stars, what a fix I am in.
SOUR GRAPES
This post made me: __feel better, __feel good, __feel like middle class, __feel poor, __feel like opening my Bible, __feel like vomiting...

Cage Match #11 :: "Popemobile vs the White Bronco"

First Ever to Include "Cars" in the Cage Match
by Pat Darnell and Google  | Mar 23, 2013 | Bryan TX

OJ Simpson in his White Bronco

--VERSUS--

Pope Francis in his White Mercedes Popemobile

Is the Popemobile a second-hand car? - Telegraph: " And if you want the same paint job for your C-class you'll have to ask your dealer for "Vatican mystic white". As with all Popemobiles, it carries the registration "SCV 1" (an abbreviation of the Italian and Latin names for Vatican City, Stato della Città del Vaticano and Status Civitatis Vaticanae, respectively)."

'via Blog this'

This is about uber-economics. What was the real cost of OJ "Orenthal James" Simpson's trial and error, not in that order? You see the jurors in the OJ trial were sequestered, average age of the juror was 43, exhibits presented during testimony: Defense 369; prosecution 488, cost: estimated $9 million for Los Angeles County--includes costs for court and prosecution--defense costs not known, the cost of Simpson's defense is estimated at $3 million to $6 million.

Think, 1.2 billion voices. So much for all the pre-conclave speculation and scenarios. For those of you who view papal elections in terms of brackets, e.g., Religious News Service's "Sweet Sistine, the election of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio is even bigger than a play-in team upsetting a #1 in the first round, and then going on to win the championship. (Brian Olszewski on Mar 15, 2013. HERE )

Calls to mind that Jesuit cardinal and eventual doctor of the church, St. Robert Bellarmine, who, when he resided at the Vatican in the early 1600s, tore the tapestries from the walls of his room in order to clothe the poor. He was said to have remarked, "The walls won't catch cold."

As for the "real cost" of papal switching, good luck with that. In other words we came up empty in our Googling. There are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world. That is one-seventh of the world's population. Now if every Catholic gave just one Euro ...

-- By the way, Pope Francis, from Fathead, get yours today: Put your passion on display with the Pope Francis Mural Fathead from Fathead.com! Note: there's no Fathead for OJ Simpson.

MEANWHILE :: In Conclusion
Down in the mouth: Root Canal Awareness Week begins this Sunday.

 COMMENT:
" ... This bill is bullshit from jump. (80+ / 0-)
Throughout our history, the government has given creators systems (Copyright Office, PTO) to register their claims to intellectual property. It is the responsibility of the creator to decide how to deal with people who abridge his or her claim. This is always done through the civil courts, almost always at the state level, with federal backup if needed.

Never has the federal government attempted direct, extra-legal enforcement of intellectual property claims, and for good reason: that's not its job.

I'm far from being a Tenther, but challenge to this bill, if enacted, falls squarely and sweetly under the Tenth Amendment, even more than the First.

This bill is pure crap, and I'll be the people introducing it know it, too.

Muse Juice 1995

A Brief History of  Time... Eb and Flo of David and Johnny
by Pat Darnell

Bryan-College Station, TX  |  04.19.2010
In a conference room at St. Agatha’s is Dr. Harbor– a Presbyterian Minister–, David Crosby, and Johnny Lydon. It is the year 1995.

Dr Harbor [Presbyter Minister]: “I have known both of you all your lives; I know your parents and I have performed marriages and funerals for many of your relations.”

[Crosby and Lydon both nod in agreement to what Dr. Harbor is saying.]

Dr Harbor: “You both sang in the choirs from childhood till you left in your late teens, correct?” Both nod yes. “I baptized you, Johnny, in 1968 when you were twelve, and I baptized you David in 1953.”

“Now Johnny I have you both here because it is time you own up to the fact that your music is not as good as David’s. Therefore, I ask you to consider the long term part of your golden years as Johnny Rotten?”

Johnny: “Why is that Dr Harbor? I have a large following! [A bit shocked]”

Dr Harbor: “Let me explain Johnny, David’s songs are about genuine feelings of love for women, for the sea, and for humanity. David never contrives a song as a ‘hit,’ rather he mixes concoctions of heart and beauty …the results are organic, non-formulaic, asymmetric structure, naturally flowing melody wrapped in rich open-tunings from his guitar.”

David: “Hey, I’m a happy guy. When I get an idea I want to pursue it immediately because there is a certain surge of muse juice right at that point [laughter].”

Dr Harbor: “I want you both to know I was there at the birth of Rock ‘n Roll. I know in my heart what spawned it, and I have suffered the up and down roller coasters in my days, of pop culture and its impact on our liturgy. Yes?”

Johnny: [looks very unhappy] “You two are making me feel rotten. I have tried to end Rock ‘n Roll. It’s an old fashion format, idiots performing, and it’s a plague, it’s rotten, it’s a disease.”

Dr. Harbor: “To continue, coming from a non-musical background… I will try instead to compare to decadence:“
Satire is the last flicker of originality in a passing epoch, as it faces the on-road of staleness and boredom. Freshness has gone: bitterness remains. The prolongation of outworn forms of life means a slow decadence in which there is repetition without any fruit in the reaping of value. There may be high survival power. For decadence undisturbed by originality or by external forces is a slow process. But the values of life are slowly ebbing. There remains the show of civilization, without any of its realities. (Whitehead, Alfred N; 1955, Adventures of ideas)
... “Due to numerous present-day responsibilities, even “Muse Juice” is no longer what it once was… fits very well – for instance the intent of artists, musicians and painters alike, to get off the stuff; to get clean of substance abuse. Like these lyrics --

If I could just make it [off] this time, I’d never need to read another highway sign;
Smoking [ditch] weed, drinking rocket fuel… brother tell me where you been? (0:56, Salvation, Pribek)

And David’s lyrics of one of his first songs:
When I finally get myself together
I’m going to get down in that sunny southern weather
And I find a place inside to laugh
Separate the wheat from the chaff
I feel like I owe it to someone (D Crosby, Almost cut my hair)

Decadence is when the parts of the organism [say a flower] no longer support the life of the organism. It is similar in my mind to sour grapes, flower petals after pollination….

“I ask you two my esteemed students… lyricists, com-mentors, tort-mentors and emailers, is this our way of being part of “those who deplore decadence because we are nostalgic for a golden age of social unity, while those who praise decadence elevate the self-aware, seemingly self-determined individual, answerable only to himself/herself?”

“If so, then this is where you, Johnny Rotten, come in… between the advance and decline of art is The Dialectic of Decadence... (Donald Kuspit, 1993 and 2000, the Dialectic of decadence)
By the mid-sixties [a] minimalist faith created a distinct crisis in painting. Painting had corroborated the flat reality that it secretly always had been. With Stella’s flat black paintings, Ryman’s flat white paintings, and Marden’s flat gray paintings, [Rothko's hazes of non-colors,] young artists, at least the ones that acknowledged this history were literally up against the wall, with no place to go.

“And there remain you Johnny Lydon to this day… a minimalist who is on a mission with no place to go.”

“That is why I ‘Dr Harbor in 1995’ ask you Johnny Rotten to donate your liver to David Crosby.”

“Just in case we need a backup liver, we need yours, Johnny.”

"Can't things just turn out like I planned," sighed Dr Harbor ...

If Dr Harbor is the authority that both musicians most trust then State-of-art for arguments’ sake crashes into state-of-the-art of scientific achievement for liver transplants. If Dr Harbor had these two as students and knows their entire history, he has a moral judgment ahead of the possibility that Lydon’s liver will be compatible with Crosby’s metabolism or not.

a Conclusion
When is the best time to let Lydon know his liver is on call? What value is the comparisons made in the uncomfortable meeting; and will the objections stymie science lag and extinction periods?

AMY GOODMAN: The World Bank has approved a controversial $3.75 billion loan for South Africa to build one of the world’s largest coal-fired power plants. The World Bank said the loan to the South African utility company, Eskom, would help, quote, “South Africa achieve a reliable electricity supply.” But environmentalists in South Africa and abroad have criticized the decision and are urging the bank to stop supporting the development of coal plants and other large emitters of greenhouse gas emissions.
The United States, the Netherlands, Britain abstained from Thursday’s vote. The US Treasury said it abstained because of, quote, “concerns about the climate impact of the project and its incompatibility with the World Bank’s commitment to be a leader in climate change mitigation and adaptation.” The $3.75 billion [loan] includes $750 million for financing for renewables and energy efficiency projects in South Africa.
The project is also controversial in South Africa because the investment arm of the ruling African National Congress has a financial stake in the construction of the coal plant. [SOURCE]

Keeping Up to Date-- any Story has a Future

There is a way to keep up to date. However, it is burdensome to have it always on one's mind; why, when, where, and who is current, and how soon might that person, place, or thing be on the bank of the rapids, kicking back?

I pity, and envy, those who can day-to-day pick and choose events that push boulders down the wash. So far I stay on the shore, with my tube around my waist, waiting my turn to float.

Mistakenly, I assume that my enviable patron journalists are polymaths, or doctorate librarians, and/or actuaries who speak 722 different languages. But that is my unreasonable super-imposition on journalists; a personal problem of mine.

For starters, any story has a future. And, how many stories are available? Considering the world population, it could be total of one person -- one voice.

That makes the numbers too large.

I certainly can't keep up with 6 billion per day. That's a biblical parameter. I look at the USA, and then a city like New York and all its 'burbs. Say that every dollar passed in any one day has a story attached. It still makes me cathartic that 9 million dollars pass from hand to hand before breakfast in New York. Figure bus fare, train transfer, cup of java, postage stamps, parking meter...

Forget about it.

Pretty soon we won't be able to forfeit a day in the life and times of the collective activity of 6 billion voices. Some voices louder than others, but still 6 billion voices on the next generation of "internet-like" parlay.

I hear it coming, like a steam locomotive, with a rhythm and slippage all its own.

So, before I continue on this, I wonder if anyone within the sound of my keyboard has a similar foresight? I'm all ears.

Democrat Ears: Much of what I am saying comes from the sociopathic nature of Presidential candidates in the era of inter-play dynamics of one person/one voice. I suppose Obama age wise has the edge on the internet curve. No wonder the shift has been so dramatic... he is the Paris Hilton of hitting all the high points every time he speaks. It reminds me very much of Joel Olstein non-stop speaking. It appears unscripted to older generations, therefore sort of charismatic, but to young people it represents the freedom perceived in divulging "what ever you want to" to perfect strangers throughout the world.

Obama wrote a letter with these excerpted standards of promissory agenda:
'Just as important, I have been listening to what all Americans have to say... I will never compromise on my commitment to equal rights for all LGBT Americans... But neither will I close my ears to the voices of those who still need to be convinced... That is the work we must do to move forward together. It is difficult. It is challenging. And it is necessary....'(http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/members)
See: Also Democratic Underground

"This is part of the letter touted as proof of Obama's commitment to LGBT Americans. In all sincerity, those of you who ridicule those of us who were offended by the McClurkin incident, can you understand why I question the necessity of including this paragraph in a letter "proving" his commitment to us?

"What does he mean that "just as important" are the "voices" of those who need to be convinced?

"Why in 2008 do we need to appease bigots, sexists, homophobes? I don't think their "voices" are just as important as ours. I would prefer he would say that those people can "move forward" with us if THEY choose to, but move forward we will.

"Now, have at it. Again, I will vote for whoever our nominee will be, and someone will be bound to call me a 'scab-picker' again, but so be it." (Feb 28,2008, Retrieved 06.15.2008, 12:15 AM at at bluebear )
