When we say we are going to do a series of money related posts, we think we are onto something of a trend. Because we all know that MooPig is a financial trendsetter, and therefore a trend-spotter. HA! We attempted to meddle through the muddle of financial stuff HERE. We thought to interfere in and busy ourselves unduly with something that is not usually our concern.

This report in USAToday is the kind of report that makes me want to get on the phone with old friends. This kind of report makes me want to hide in a cave like a wounded cougar, and lick my wounds. This kind of report makes me want to gather my little family together in a safe and cozy room. It is the kind of report that makes me stifle myself.

Alleged $6 billion money-laundering network busted: "Detailing what federal authorities termed the largest international money-laundering case in history, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said the suspects and company were indicted for allegedly facilitating 55 million transactions that concealed the proceeds of credit card fraud, identity theft, computer hacking, child pornography, narcotics trafficking and other crimes."

So, let's see, it turns out the major cyber-crimes involve:

• credit card fraud
• identity theft
• computer hacking
• child pornography
• narcotics trafficking
• all the above in money laundering

Nope ... none of those key activities come up on a search of MooPig Wisdom. But, that is where the money goes to be "recirculated." And, there were 1-million signed up with Liberty Reserve. It does prove that if you want to know where's the money, you will have to wade through some pretty debased information, photos, videos, and acid trips to find out.

The papers cited Costa Rican prosecutor José Pablo González saying that Budovsky, a Costa Rican citizen of Ukrainian origin, has been under investigation since 2011 for money laundering using Liberty Reserve, a company he created in Costa Rica. “Local investigations began after a request from a prosecutor’s office in New York,” Tico Times reporter L. Arias wrote. “On Friday, San José prosecutors conducted raids in Budovsky’s house and offices in Escazá, Santa Ana, southwest of San José, and in the province of Heredia, north of the capital. If you own a Jet-Ski, a helicopter, or a tank, then you are at the top of the money chain.

Out there is a strange world. Cyber wars are wreaking havoc on certain investments. MooPig Finance and Witchcraft Department has been posting blurbs about the BITCOIN phenom HERE and HERE.

Do you trust paper money and Ben Bernanke's ability to manage it? If you don't, and all your friends don't, then your price for paper money goes up, or like the experts say, it gets more scarce.

We are not Bitcoin experts, and certainly not investment wizards here at MooPig enterprises. But these guys advertise that they are:

Have You ‘Defaced a Hamburger’ Lately?

In Las Vegas, you can be thrown in jail for spilling a drink in a nightclub. That’s what happened to Justin O’Connell last summer. Apparently a bouncer watched O’Connell spill his drink and then asked him to leave. O’Connell then asked for his $30 cover charge back. The nightclub then called police, who escorted O’Connell to jail. He now faces criminal trespassing charges.

Here are some other criminal offenses in Las Vegas (and many other cities, for that matter):

• Sitting or lying down on public sidewalks in the downtown redevelopment district.
• 
  
• Buying drinks for more than three people within 24 hours.
• 
  
• Feeding the homeless in public. Incidentally, it’s also illegal to feed pigeons.
• 
  
• Pawning your dentures.
• 
  
• Defacing a hamburger, by leaving its contents anywhere in public.
• 
  
• Jaywalking.

We hope Warren Buffett enjoyed that hamburger … and properly disposed of it when he was done!

That’s the tip of the criminalization iceberg. Have you ever purchased sinus medication over the counter? Well, so did Diane Avera, a 45-year-old Mississippi grandmother. Now she faces a year in prison after being convicted of intent to manufacture amphetamine.

It’s a long story, but basically, Mississippi law requires a prescription to purchase pseudoephedrine, the active ingredient in many sinus medications. To save time and aggravation, Avera drove to Alabama to purchase her medication, but got caught up in a sting operation.

It’s no wonder the United States has by far the world’s largest prison population per capita anywhere on earth. More people rot in local, county, state or federal prisons in the United States than in all other developed countries combined.

According to the World Prison Population List, Ninth Edition (2012): “More than 10.1 million people are held in penal institutions throughout the world, mostly as pretrial detainees/remand prisoners or as sentenced prisoners.

Almost half of these are in the United States (2.29 million), Russia (0.81 million) or China (1.65 million sentenced prisoners) … “The U.S. has the highest prison population rate of 743 per 100,000 of its national population followed by Rwanda (595 per 100,000).”

Paraphrasing President Obama, “Yes we can … put you in prison!” Even more disturbingly, the criminalization of America is now creeping into high schools, junior high schools … and most recently, even kindergarten classes.

Last month, a 5-year-old boy (from Mississippi … again!) wound up in the back of a police car because he didn’t wear the right color shoes to class. His teacher told him he had to wear black shoes. Unfortunately, the little boy had no black shoes, and his mother apparently didn’t have the money to buy any. So she improvised. She used a marker to cover up his red-and-white tennis shoes. Unfortunately, she missed a couple of spots.

When the boy showed up at school the next day, his teacher called the cops. Shortly thereafter, police escorted him home in a police car and delivered a stern warning to his mother.

Apparently, this is “business as usual” in Mississippi.

Indeed, the U.S. Justice Department recently filed a lawsuit against officials in one Mississippi county for running what critics call a school-to-prison pipeline.

You’ll hopefully excuse me from making a couple observations: Anyone can inadvertently run afoul of America’s metastasizing network of criminal laws. Spilling a drink in a nightclub is hardly what anyone would consider a criminal offense. Neither is purchasing medication over-the-counter. Once you have a criminal record, especially a felony conviction, you’ll find it much more difficult to live outside the United States, or to acquire a second citizenship and passport.

Not to belabor the obvious, but if you have any interest at all in establishing a second nationality, don’t wait until some inadvertent slip-up results in an arrest and possible felony conviction.

Evolution, or Contrivance --Welcoming the AGE of CYNICISM

Although the impact of this youTube is defaming for some leaders, what is the real impression all about? At MooPig we say the Internet is a natural order sort of humanistic evolutionary adaptation.

No one person alive could contrive our Internet as it grows today. No one person could accept the cynicism, parlay, and general democracy tagged onto miniaturizing society as we have done.

Everything in our household at MooPig since seven years ago is completely "out-of-date." How we shop and prepare our days has gone from piece part construction to bulk efficient mass production. Supply chains that provide our infrastructure -- water, power and sewer -- have been deregulated for no reason. If anything is constant it has to be inherent needs to keep lines of communication open.

The SC Magazine Newswire: Spammer Hammer didn't kill the Botnets

"The Srizbi botnet, responsible for about half of all spam, regained its legs on Tuesday, according to a blog post from security firm FireEye." It turns out it is hard work to maintain a spammer network.

As it turned out, "McColo -- which appears to have ceased operating -- provided hosting capabilities for a number of unscrupulous cybergangs, some dedicated to the delivery of spam. After two internet service providers pulled the plug on McColo, the amount of spam fell by as much as 80 percent.

"When McColo went down, their command-and-control centers went away," Sergeant said. "What that means is the bots weren't getting any new work orders. Without new updates, eventually they just teeter out and die down." (Sergeant, Matt; Retrieved HERE)

"But it is climbing back after the botnets, such as Rustock, Mega-D and Srizbi, have re-established connectivity to their command-and-control centers, said Matt Sergeant, senior anti-spam technologist at MessageLabs, now owned by Symantec.

"[The backup domain names] are automatically generated by the bots," Sergeant said. "The spammer then knows the algorithm used to generate that name and points that domain name at the new command-and-control center."

Further streamlining is needed. It seems the spam networks were down for two weeks. That would make some "spammers" unhappy, as they are losing capital during those shutdowns. But there is a lot of room for spammers worldwide.

"Srizbi has returned from the dead and has begun updating all its bots with a fresh, new binary," said the post. "The worldwide update began just a few hours ago. The new command-and-control servers are located in Estonia, and the domains registered through a registrar in Russia."
