MooPig Plague Watch :: "Locusts"

Captured by Pat Darnell  |  Apr 5, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

JG Vibes ~ Swarms Of Locusts Descend On Israel And Egypt | Shift Frequency: "Along the border of Egypt and Israel millions of locusts have mysteriously appeared in giant swarms across the area. This problem was first reported weeks ago but has continued in intensity, destroying crops and creating a widespread disturbance in travel and trade.

The Jerusalem Post reported that:
" ... Additional bands of locusts entered Israel throughout the day on Tuesday, marking a week since the first wave of bugs flew across the Sinai border and landed here. Two swarms swooped in on Tuesday afternoon in the Revivim and Kama areas, following another fresh pack that entered through Kadesh Barnea a few hours before, the Agriculture Ministry reported." (March 15, 2013 by Gillian. LINK) ... "

'via Blog this'
" ... No preventative pesticide can be used in advance of a locust’s arrival, and effective spraying can only occur once the insects are settled on the ground for the night or in the early morning before they fly off, the ministry explained.
While individual locusts have made appearances all over the country, the aerial and ground spraying has largely worked thus far in eradicating the swarms, the office stressed. Individual locusts are not harmful to humans, and they only pose a threat to agricultural plots in large swarms.
The chemicals being used to combat the locusts are of a “soft pesticide” type and have no effects on other animals, preying upon the locusts only and leaving no residue – as the pesticide breaks down quickly, according to the ministry. Due to this spraying, there has not yet been any significant harm to crops, but if agricultural damage was to occur, the farmers are protected by risk insurance. (SHARON UDASIN. 03/13/2013.   LINK) ... "

  • Q:  How about these apples! Most of all, I like her posture.

  • A:  Is she carrying a mouse around in her pocket?

The bolloon guy follows me everywhere because nothing fills his bolloon up faster than me talking ! I told him that your flatulence would be even better but he said Texas is too far to go and that pinto bean gas was too volatile and prone to explosion.

  • Q:  Lydia's Italy is the best cooking show I ever saw - Has Marinella seen it.?

  • A:  Marinella doesn't know Lydia from squash.

[...]

And here's a research challenge for the Pig ...... Before 1948 Jews were called Palestinians - Q 1 - what were the local arabs called at that time? Q2 - how much of these arab's land was also taken by Jordan and Syria when the land grab was over, and how many were displaced by these fellow-muslim countries? ( I know that Jordan killed thousands of them before the dust settled...)

That is it.

To know answers to your Mid-East questions MooPig would have to know something about that region -- but all MooPig knows about is the Middle of the USA, like the Mid-West ... We are a "Middle" sort of entity.

Q1 -- Arabs were called: "A.R.A.B.S." back then; or maybe Jordanians.

Q2 -- ... and, for your land grab question -- the standard MooPig "Answer YO!" response is "42." That would be 42 billion in this case. Yes, 42 billion acres, 42 billion killed, and 42 billion dollars from the USA given to whoever liked us back then.

How is your Tuesday going?

Retrieved by Pat Darnell from Jason Williams fBook thread

JASON WILLIAMS OOO JOINT, IT IS ABT TO GO DOWN IN THE MIDDLE EAST TURKEY WHO HAS AN INCREDIBLY STRONG ARMY ALMOST SECOND TO THE U.S IN NATO WILL NOW RESEND ANOTHER SHIP WITH AID TO GAZA BUT THIS TIME WITH A MILITARY ESCORT!! WILL ISRAEL DARE TO ATTACK AGAIN CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT THEY WOULDN'T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST TURKEY...WHAT WILL THE U.S DO IF WAR BREAKS OUT?!

Matadi Kikunga Jason, I agree with Gary, it's too late,, the Neo Cons have been foaming at the mouth for this for a long time now, well, if it's a must, let's get it on since Israel wants to act like Billy Badass all the time...

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen ISRAEL IS VERY MEDIA SAAVY. THEY ARE LIKE A FREAKIN CROOKED COP X 20! THEY ARE GOING TO SOMEHOW MAKE IT LOOK AS IF THEY WERE ATTACKED EVEN IF THEY WERE NOT! WATCH. JUST LIKE THEY SHOWED PHOTOS OF "SLING SHOTS" ON THE SHIP BUT MFKRS WERE LAYIN THERE WITH FATAL GUNSHOT WOUNDS THAT ISRAEL INFLICTED VIA HELICOPTER IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS
2 hours ago

Marion Watts Khadijah, I agree. I think it's time we weaned Israel off our presumed support. Netanyahu does what he does and says what he says because he knows that the US won't do anything. He needs to realise the "assumption" law when he assumes too much.

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen I APPRECIATE OBAMA'S CALM COOL, THOUGHTFUL DEMEANOR MOST OF THE TIME, BUT THERE ARE SOME MOMENTS WHERE YOU NEED TO BECOME THAT DUDE! I MEAN WE FINANCE THIS COUNTRY (ISRAEL) WHERE WOULD THEY BE WITHOUT OUR MONEY! DO SOMETHING! DAMN! I GUESS PPL CAN'T SAY HE IS A MUSLIM NOW LOL.

Nancy Welsh This is the making of a possible WWIII that many in my generation have been fearing for years. I'm 52 btw. We've been financing a terrorist machine, Israel, and calling them our friend when they stab us in the back time after time. Look up USS Liberty. Then keep looking things up.

Lutalo McGee i dont know khadijah. i have been trying to make sense of it. they know the us doesnt need them as much anymore with them establishing bases in iraq and afghan. i feel they are doing it because they know they can get away with it. international community will make some ruckus but no country with any power will do anything. no sanctions. no military strike. no icc charges. just talk...

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen I personally am sick of them getting away with it. Aye dios! I could go on for years about this but I shant. Suffice it to say that I feel a Palestinians urge to fight for land that was THEIRS and was taken away and handed to Israel and now the Palestinians are living in a refugee state. It's a powder keg ready to blow. And many in the region SEE FIRST HAND how Israel bullies ppl. I do not condone violence, but I think violence begets violence and Israel's "begettin" is a long time coming!

Nancy Welsh Israel has bee pulling the US around by the nose, creating problems and stabbing us in the back for years and years. KNOW YOUR HISTORY. Read what Cantor, the only Jewish Representative is asking Obama to do -- remember him addressing the tea partiers carrying Obama as Hitler signs and he didn't speak against it? KNOW YOUR HISTORY if you want to be a successful and respected poli sci commenter.

Lutalo McGee i dont even see self defense as violence. we were given fight or flight syndrome so that we can protect ourselves when necessary.

Billy O'Connor If the U.S. abandons a NATO ally that gets attacked, the NATO countries will abandon the U.S. in Afghanistan.

JASON WILLIAMS Yusuf..BUT they're sending a boat BACK....I think this last attack did it for Turkey plus their relations with Israel has been on decline anyways...

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen Turkey is a Nato member too, no?

Yusuf Hassan Turkey is not crazy, nor do I believe they care that much to risk anything. I'm as pro-Palestine as anyone else but the reality is the Turks are U.S allies for a reason, common interest.

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen Well as far as allies in Afghanistan, who has more than a couple hundred troops in there anyway? I remember countries saying I am sending 50 troops for translation and peacekeeping only. WTF
about an hour ago

Billy O'Connor Khadijah, yes, that's what I mean. The U.S. it treaty-bound to defend Turkey from any and all attackers, no matter what...

Nancy Welsh There is much self interest. Look beyond that to the humanitarian mission. Israel has created the largest Warsaw-like Ghetto in the world and do not see they have turned into that which they fear. They are oppressors. Here is a list of Israeli approved items for Gaza Read it and weep. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/30_04_10_gaza.pdf
about an hour ago

Dick Clark Yes. France gave Israel nuclear weapons. Turkey doesn't have them.

Lutalo McGee Absolutely.. so the Turkey government could be making symbolic gestures just to CALM down their own populace. Same way Afgh and Pakistan leaders do routinely.

Yusuf Hassan Exactly, it's ploy, nothing more. Turkey has been a "knee baby" to the U.S for decades. If Iran had sent a boat, then maybe it would be cause for alarm
about an hour ago

Nancy Welsh The humanitarian flotilla was multi-national. Israel F'ed up big time; many have been wanting to speak out against their barricade which the UN deened unlawful. None act. Israel has a great spin campaign. Anyone who is critical is "Anti-Semetic" the same way anyone who criticizes a black is "racist" and with that I bid you a good night. Peace.

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen I dont think that anyone who criticizes a black person is racist.

Gerard Horgan Well, looks like the Turks are going to assert themselves as the power house in the region and force the blockade, i suspect the White House is working the phones, if they send a naval escort then we have a very serious situation.

JASON WILLIAMS Yusuf and Lutalo: I see where you guys are coming from but it is still yet to be seen........I am anticipating the outcome, BECAUSE if they do attack the 2nd boat, then how can they play that out?????

Patrick Darnell stick a fork in it... this Turkey is done.

Khadijah Fakhrid-Deen They know the world is watching Jason. They didn't expect the documentation of THIS last flotilla. They have BEEN doin this shit, but ppl are becoming more saavy and media is instantaneous. Israel did not expect live feeds and video documentation as well as live audio and photos. That threw a monkey wrench in their game. They know the world is watching now. They will play "poor little jewish nation in the midst of islamic terrorists" victims until the spotlight is off, and then BACK TO TERRORISM AS USUAL FROM ISRAEL
about an hour ago

Nancy Welsh The Israel commandos tried to block communications from the flotilla before they boarded. Let me ask you this: as technologically advanced as Israel is, why do they have such blurry, awful tapes of a military action-- tapes that are being used to defend their moves before they even made them?

Patrick Darnell does anyone recall ancient of days when Prez JFK of the USA was facing down a bunch of ships that were delivering Soviet nuclear warhead missiles to Cuba, back in the 60's?

If the cargo is humanitarian with no "warheads" then Israel is so frelling wrong to detain ships... Then: otherwise all the speculation I read here is circumstance and easily picked apart ... so the fact is -- what is being delivered aboard ships?

I don't think the USS REAGAN is going to let anyone deliver missiles to Hamas leaders... or am I just full of it, too?

Patrick Darnell Uzbekistan expects resolution of situation by lifting blockade of Gaza by Israel

Uzbekistan apprehends the Israeli navy's attack on international humanitarian flotilla of ships with deep concern and alarm.
http://news.uzreport.com/mir.cgi?lan=e&id=76266
Condemning this tragic incident which caused the casualties, the Uzbek side expects an early resolution of the situation by lifting the blockade of Gaza by Israel and calls to fully implement the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council, Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement on 1 June.

"Uzbekistan considers it necessary to prevent an increase in tension and violence that could have unpredictable consequences," the statement added.

Patrick Darnell The postponement of Netanyahu's U.S. visit saved Obama from the awkward choice of taking his guest to task and risking further fraying of ties or avoiding face-to-face criticism and angering Muslim allies like Turkey.

http://www.postchronicle.com/news/breakingnews/article_212304473.shtml?ref=rss

Potential fallout from the incident poses another big headache for Obama, who is already struggling with a massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill and high unemployment at home and nuclear standoffs with North Korea and Iran abroad.

Tension builds as another aid ship heads for Gaza
02/06/2010 6:56:01
The Rachel Corrie set off yesterday from Malta, with activists vowing to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza with another ship. At the same time an Israeli officer has publicly pledged to halt it, setting the stage for a fresh confrontation.

The Rachel Corrie is a converted merchant ship bought by pro-Palestinian activists and named after an American woman killed in the Gaza Strip in 2003. The Free Gaza Movement is also behind this attempt and it swears this will not be the last flotilla.
http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/newsdetail1.asp?storyID=176506
Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen describes the vessel as Irish-owned and says it should be allowed to finish its mission. The ship is carrying 15 activists including a northern Irish Nobel Peace laureate.

Pelosi refused to speak directly about whether Israel’s blockade is causing a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying that the focus should instead be on solving Middle East peace through a two-state solution ...

Some one would be feeling the tip of an Israeli missile!

My question is why are we bound to Israel to the extent that they can do what ever they want to who ever they want with impunity? Its seems to me as if the US is Israel's puppet and they know it? Genocide, or Out for a Stroll? No Matter What it is Odd

Retrieved by Pat Darnell
[SOURCE] Living outside of Gaza one cannot fully understand the barbarity of this genocide especially when the Western media had barely covered any of its atrocity. To gain a slight idea of its enormity one should remember that, during the 6-days war of 1967, this same Israeli army was distributed on four fronts; Egyptian, Jordanian, Syrian, and Lebanese, and it was fighting regular armies. Now the whole brunt of this army is concentrated on a small strip against unarmed and untrained civilian population.

Latest official count was 1350 murdered, 40% of them were children, and 5300 were injured; mutilated and amputated. It was reported that 80% of the injured were the victims of burning phosphorous bombs. More dead are being discovered under the rebels, and many seriously injured are expected later on to die.

Israeli tanks had left several city blocks completely destroyed without any homes or structure standing. The tanks shelled homes and apartment towers. Due to the small size of Gaza Strip Palestinians had to build vertically. Many apartment towers went up 15-20 stories high with each story containing 6-8 apartments.

A total of 20,000 buildings were completely or partially burnt and damaged. The UN has reported that more than 50,000 Palestinians are left homeless and are now crowded into 50 emergency shelters.

An estimated of 50,000 more are living with relatives and in tents they erected on the ruins of their homes.

The Israeli bombardment targeted everything in Gaza including government buildings, police headquarters, banks and business offices, the main university, 67 schools sheltering civilians, shopping centers and market places, factories, water, sewer, and electricity infrastructures, private homes and apartment towers and charity organizations.

CountDown to Barry's Big Day

by Pat Darnell
I am afraid, though, that war in Gaza is going to trump Barry Obama's big day.

The offense was showing motion in the backfield on TV early the Sunday morning when Israeli ground forces sauntered into Gaza.

I had the channel set to DIRECT TV News Mix so I could drift around eight channels and get several perspectives. Somewhere a signal put the Israel ground forces into motion. (continued)

WASHINGTON — Spider-Man has a new sidekick: The president-elect.

Barack Obama collected Spider-Man comics as a child, so Marvel Comics wanted to give him a "shout-out back" by featuring him in a bonus story, said Joe Quesada, Marvel's editor-in-chief.

"How great is that? The commander in chief to be is actually a nerd in chief," Quesada said. "It was really, really cool to see that we had a geek in the White House. We're all

I laughed so heartily that the neighbors rooster crowed. News anchors of that hour, including Geraldo, began filling the twilight with the most ridiculous bunch of crap I have ever heard.

"Uh, there's smoke," said one. Another said "We have just been informed that Israeli ground troops have *[grudgingly]* started across the borders into Gaza..."

"I guess so!!!" I shouted at the boob tube.

So I went to the web and found a neglected story in the making. But the announcers must have been calling "analysts" in their sleep as someone somewhere was startled from deep sleep and said something about Obama arriving in Washington with his family... blahh blahhh... *[click]*

January 3, 2009 Gaza -- the new Poland

INSTANT VIEW-Israeli troops move into Gaza

REUTERS
Reuters North American News Service

Jan 03, 2009 15:26 EST

LONDON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - Israel launched a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip on Saturday after a week-long air campaign against Hamas over the firing of rockets into the Jewish state.

The Palestinian death toll, before tanks moved in, reached nearly 450. Gaza rocket attacks have killed four Israelis.

Following are comments from politicians and commentators:

MAJOR AVITAL LEIBOVITCH, ISRAELI MILITARY SPOKESWOMAN:

"The objective is to destroy the Hamas terror infrastructure in the area of operations."

HAMAS OFFICIAL ISMAIL RADWAN:

"We have prepared the statement of victory for you (Palestinians) ... and you will see it soon."

Addressing Israeli soldiers, he said: "Gaza will not be a picnic. Gaza will be a graveyard for you."

BROOKE ANDERSON, OBAMA'S NATIONAL SECURITY SPOKESWOMAN:

"The President-elect is closely monitoring global events, including the situation in Gaza. There is one president at a time, and we intend to respect that."

CZECH EU PRESIDENCY SPOKESMAN JIRI POTUZNIK:

"At the moment, from the perspective of the last days, we understand this step as a defensive, not offensive, action." (Writing by Sami Aboudi; editing by Elizabeth Piper)

Just another Age-Old Tradition of Honour Killing

by Pat Darnell

I have opinion that really hedges around roles of females in the world. I feel I am not the best person to editorialize about women's roles because I am a man who abandoned my first wife and child. She was just eight when I decided to not stick around for the aftermath of divorce.

So when I speak of this it is not an easy topic for me, and probably about 6 out of ten fathers out there.

I feel that women have been the undisputed "repressed" champion martyred group in all human history. Forget skin color, because I guarantee females of that same skin color are more discriminated, repressed, neglected and under-funded than any male of the said skin color.

Therefore I see this very bright and beautiful young woman, who obviously has much talent, threatened to be sacrificed and repressed by the very same "goat herder mentality" that underlies civilization. Believe me, I have thought long about the futility of female tribulations in 12,000 years in obtaining best conditions for their interests.

Look in with me at these two articles from March 2007, concerning weirdness caused when West meets Middle East customs...

Miss Israel finalist quits after family’s honour killing plot

Ms Fares’s story has dominated the Israeli media as a high-profile example of a foiled “hon-our killing”, where a woman is murdered by members of her own family for supposed sexual offenses that have somehow brought shame to the family.

Last year, seventeen Palestinian women were reported killed in honour crimes, twelve in the Gaza Strip and five in the occupied West Bank. In Israel, seven women were similarly killed for “crimes” ranging from having sex before marriage to being the victim of rape.

For Ms Fares the controversy began last November, when she decided to enter the Miss Israel contest. She chose the name “Angelina” in honour of her idol, the American actress Angelina Jolie, and spent hours watching Fashion Television to prepare for her audition.

The first phase of the competition was a bikini contest. Ms Fares knew that parading in her red two-piece could be considered controversial in the Druze community, whose religion is an offshoot of Islam.

Her participation in the pageant even raised the judges’ eyebrows. “They were very surprised when they found out I was Druze. They asked me if it would be a problem for me to be in the contest. I told them ‘no’, that my whole family supported me,” Ms Fares said.

Dalia, Ms Fares’ mother, defended that decision, saying that she did not want to interfere with her daughter’s dreams. “She was there to represent herself, not the whole Druze community,” she said.

Ms Fares was chosen as one of twenty finalists, convincing the family that they had done the right thing. “Ever since childhood I was preparing myself for this. It was like the dream I had lived inside my head for so long,” Ms Fares said.

If you aren’t familiar with the Druze than do yourself a favor and go here. Don’t be ashamed; I never heard of them either till now.

Let us take a trip to the peaceful land of Israel. Here I will introduce to you a lovely girl named Doaa Fares… she is the girl pictured here. She was raised in a deeply conservative Druze village where women are born into a traditional conservative role.

But Fares was ahead of her time and looking to break the mold. She changed her name to Angelina and entered the Miss Israel beauty pageant with delusions of grandeur… a cash prize, a car, and a modeling career.

Unfortunately for Angelina, she was amongst the land of the religious freaks. She was the first Druze to compete in such a competition and was thus targeted faster for extermination than Sara Connor. Even more troubling is the fact that it wasn’t the Terminator trying to silence her… it was her own flesh and blood. Her family was evoking the age-old tradition of Honour Killing to protect their own honor.

I know in the past I have labeled this phenomenon as an Islamic one. Many wrote to suggest otherwise and this may be evidence. If anyone has knowledge on the Druze I would appreciate your insight.

The reason I labeled this story under Islam is because the roots of the Druze appear to stem from there. I must emphasize that the Muslim community does not recognize the Druze.
