The most difficult part of writing is 'staying focused on a story.' MooPig Enterprises takes too much time in following up on its own stories, well, because we don't read our own Blog all that often. But when we do, we get downright self-righteous, and scold ourselves for not following up on that Woolly Mammoth story, or that 12/12/12 story, and how about that cool article we did about Ten Things You Need to Know This Morning! 

Most of today has been spent writing lemmings on faceBook posts, and watching the House of Anubis marathon on TeenNick. I guess that is that. But ...

I actually have a bookmark on my Chrome menu header for The Extinction Protocol blog site. I have to remind myself to check out what is going on in the Extinction Level Events calendar, with this visual/tactile reminder button. And folks, it is surprisingly ambitious of that blog site to post as much as they do about volcanoes, earthquakes, pandemics, and other natural cataclysmic happenings.

The trouble with all that is that scientists are limited by collection of "believable" data. Empirical data exists in modern times only by pre-modern-scientific observations recorded in holy books, scrolls, and the like. Journalism dates only to first novels written, say 1700's. Newspapers date to the 1800's and provide the clearest picture of weather patterns and maybe some natural events for modern scientists to add to their body of knowledge.

Okay, Captain Obvious, let's play cards, shall we? At MooPig Research Department, we grow weary of always having to read about kings, queens, and rich people, as if these legacies have anything to do with anything. Have you ever noticed how holy books talk about kings and what happened during some king's reign; or how many women a king deflowered? We noticed.

So, let's say, you are a lowly scientist fresh with a doctorate in your particular field. You proceed to work in your chosen field. You get beat the hell up by those already ahead of you in your chosen field. But let's amuse ourselves and think you as newbie actually hold the winning hand in the poker game of predicting species extinctions.

The Extinction Protocol | Geologic and Earthchange News events: "In 1995, Pimm found that the pre-human rate of extinctions on Earth was about 1. But taking into account new research, Pimm and his colleagues refined that background rate to about 0.1. Now, that death rate is about 100 to 1,000, Pimm said.

" ... Numerous factors are combining to make species disappear much faster than before, said Pimm and co-author Clinton Jenkins of the Institute of Ecological Research in Brazil. But the No. 1 issue is habitat loss. Species are finding no place to live as more places are built up and altered by humans. Add to that invasive species crowding out native species, climate change affecting where species can survive and over-fishing, Pimm said.

CONCLUSION
Our truth is we must travel the more difficult road if we are to understand our environment, and live on as a species. As an earth dwelling species, we humans have been given 'somehow' the ability to understand our environment, and to change it with tools.

There are some big names appearing on the Christmas episode of The Graham Norton Show. Hollywood legend Dustin Hoffman will be joined by the comedian's comedian Billy Connolly and fellow comic Jennifer Saunders. But for Doctor Who fans, Matt Smith will be the one to watch (and listen carefully to). Smith will take to the sofa on Friday 21 December to discuss Doctor Who Christmas Special The Snowmen, which airs four days later on BBC1. Will he reveal any new details about the episode? Quite possibly not. Will he help ramp up the excitement? Definitely.

HE’S best known for travelling through time as Doctor Who, but actor Matt Smith is planning a new journey – to Hollywood.

Matt, the current eleventh incarnation of the Time Lord who is adored by the sci-fi show’s millions of fans, has revealed he is hoping to make his mark in the movies.

“I’m going over to Los Angeles this week to dip my head in the pond,” Matt reveals. “I am going to be having loads of meetings with film people and that sort of stuff.

“I have a lot of ambitions. I would like one day to direct and I just want to keep doing quality work. LA is kinda groovy – I really like it out there.”

Matt, 28, will discuss potential scripts and audition for roles which could make him a global star.

Political activities of recent times might have brought many scripts, or none, to film makers. Casting such scripts might have requirements that a sincere effort in matching biographies and all the way to blood types in actors might be considered... That is why we offer this discussion as follows. Idol worship and budget not considered, could Ashley Judd play Sarah Palin in a movie...? you decide. Will the Shoes come Off?

We find that casting Ashley Judd as Sarah Palin in a movie would be akin to casting John Belushi [God rest his soul] as Michael Phelps.

Consider the recent commercial application slanting: In 2009, Ashley Judd appeared in a one minute video advertisement for the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, in which Judd condemned Alaska governor Sarah Palin for supporting aerial wolf hunting. In making the advertisement, Judd failed to mention that the reason these wolves are killed is to protect the caribou population in Alaska. In response, Sarah Palin deemed the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund an "extreme fringe group".[WKI].

Recently Ash took on Sarah. I think besides being a sort of sibling rivalry, this represents those who try to tag themselves onto what is perceived as originality. Ash is trying to put her team in the wave of fanfare that Sarah has enjoyed.

Actress Ashley Judd stars in a new campaign targeted at Sarah Palin's alleged "anti-conservation agenda" and her promotion of the killing of wolves and bears in Alaska.

Defenders Action Fund launched the campaign today with a new Website, EyeonPalin.org. In a video, Judd condemns Palin for promoting the aerial killing of wolves and even accuses her of suggesting $150 bounties for the severed forelegs of killed wolves.

"Now back in Alaska, Palin is again casting aside science and championing the slaughter of wildlife," Judds recites somberly.

Personally, I see no connection. But:

Sarah Palin struck back at Ashley Judd's featured role in an ad campaign accusing the Alaska governor of supporting the aerial slaughter of wolves and bears.

Palin released a statement calling the ad "reprehensible and hypocritical."

"The ad campaign by this extreme fringe group, as Alaskans have witnessed over the last several years, distorts the facts about Alaska's wildlife management programs. These audacious fundraising attempts misrepresent what goes on in Alaska, and I encourage people to learn the facts about Alaska's positive record of managing wildlife for abundance.

"Shame on the Defenders of Wildlife for twisting the truth in an effort to raise funds from innocent and hard-pressed Americans struggling with these rough economic times," wrote Palin, reports Politico.
