STATUS: Let me try to explain Texas logic -- I paid $3.50/gal yesterday for regular gas, diesel is $4.48 ... about a dollar higher. In Texas, as the price of gas/diesel goes higher, we see more and more of this:

Are Texans electing  a Texas Pope, and black smoke means the jury is hung? As the price of gasoline goes higher, Texan's in their Dualies jack up their wheels higher.

MooPig thinking: If you can afford that diesel guzzling monster truck, and can afford six new tires, why is your air filter clogged up? For the love of God, change your filters.

We at MooPig are still driving our 2001 Dodge NEON, at 27 m/g in the city, 30 on the highway. We have conserved mightily, please don't blow your black smoke in my face.

Monkeyface: If I was going to write a college thesis on the subject of low budget action flicks this would be my closing argument! I mean come on, you would have to include Indonesian cinema, Cynthia Rothrock, and Peter O’Brian. This movie just screams bad story, worse acting, big explosions, and a ton of off the wall fight scenes. It's just all about entertainment and ridiculous stunts, something I love!

Forecasters downgraded Bill to a Category 1 hurricane as it neared the eastern U.S. seaboard, but tropical storm watches and warnings remained in effect for the Massachusetts coast and parts of Canada.

Bill churned up rough seas, created dangerous rip currents and closed beaches to swimmers up and down the East Coast, including President Obama's vacation spot, Martha's Vineyard.

In Bermuda, the storm mostly spared the pink-sand shores though it cut power to about 3,700 customers and flooded some roads along the northern coast. The airport was closed overnight and all ferry service was canceled until Sunday.

Residents and tourists awoke to some water on the roads, rain and gusting winds.
"It was something to behold. I've never been in a hurricane before," said Kenny Mayne, 50, of Connecticut, a [Bermuda] vacationer who hopes to head back to the U.S. on Sunday.

On Friday night, the streets of Bermuda's capital were mostly empty and blanketed with rain. Luxury boutiques boarded up their windows. At the bar of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess hotel, a few guests sampled the "Dark 'n Stormy" cocktail as Bill's outer bands raked the island.
