Dislike: Facebook Can Hurt Your Credit Score LearnVest: "Here’s the kicker: The information used by the algorithm isn’t just what you’ve made public—the banks are requiring your login information.
Everything you can see, they can see. And they could even potentially send messages to your contacts. From the perspective of the banks, “birds of a feather flock together.” They want to reach more customers likely to use their products through you. For a consumer who wants a loan, banks having more information isn’t necessarily better—especially when it’s open to interpretation."

Open to interpretation; I got tired of always being on guard in my online persona years ago. Most people don't read past the headline, and then they only read a few lines. Anything I write from here on out is moot.
However, if someone tells a fib on their loan application, they can face consequences down the line. Lenders in 2013 are very cautious due to the recent acrimonious bail-out of mortgage companies. They go over the application with a fine toothed comb looking for any instance of fraud. If fraud is found later on, the mortgage companies have the right to foreclose on you.
If lending companies read my lemmings on faceBook, they might black ball me. But like I said, I lost respect for my 'online' self years ago. It is too difficult to live every moment as if Big Brother is looking over your shoulder.
I have been blogging since 2006, and online for ten years before that. So any lender could conceivably find out that I did have a Napster account. I did have a MySpace, AOL, twig, twurl, CTU Online, and literally hundreds more accounts. In the late nineties I worked for a subsidiary of NEG Japan, and wrote thousands of memos and emails that could come back to haunt me.
I noticed when I applied for a home loan in 2008, the loan officer communicated via email and letter and fax, and had some false information in his hands. He said I had claimed interest for income taxes from an FHA mortgage. That was a total fail on his part.
When I moved to Houston, after living in Chicago for 18 years, as I tried to change over my Driver's licence, I was told by the clerk someone had been using my Social Security number while I was gone. That was in 1996.
So in essence what we now have is 'socialized privatization.' It has become my personal guilty pleasure to ramp up my online presence, but try to live the life of a recluse.
Society and its rules will probably not let me do that, for free anyway, because the 16th amendment states “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.” (US Constitution, Amendment XVI).
And no one ever beats City Hall.

MooPig Report from the Middle -- PRIVATIZATION : the Game, Part One, UPDATE
5 Ways Privatization Is Ruining America | Alternet: "August 13, 2012 |
" ... A grand delusion has been planted in the minds of Americans, that privately run systems are more efficient and less costly than those in the public sector. Most of the evidence points the other way. Private initiatives generally produce mediocre or substandard results while experiencing the usual travails of unregulated capitalism -- higher prices, limited services, and lower wages for all but a few 'entrepreneurs.'
With perverse irony, the corruption and incompetence of private industry has actually furthered the cause of privatization, as the collapse of the financial markets has deprived state and local governments of necessary public funding, leading to an even greater call for private development." (Paul Buchheit. 13 Aug 2012. LINK)..."

Michigan Repub Gov Rick Snyder wants to Own it all ... ?

"Last night on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show, Maddow explained that Michigan Republican Governor Rick Snyder is pushing a bill through that will give ultimate governmental power literally to corporations, thereby using shock doctrine tactics to create a dystopian government. Synder’s bill not only goes after collective bargaining rights, but does in fact seem to represent the Republicans’ final solution to killing democracy by enabling the replacement of elected officials, dissolving entire city’s government and handing them over to corporations. Snyder calls his “budget bill” a “shared sacrifice,” but it gifts corporations with 1.8 billion in tax breaks while hitting citizens with harder taxes, including seniors and other vulnerables, and cutting essential services to an already suffering region."

"And like any good bully or dictator, the time to strike is when you’ve sucker punched your victim and he or she is lying on the ground helpless, barely clinging to life; people will give up all kinds of personal liberties when they’re desperate. So now they are striking at us by deploying Republican governors as missiles of economic warfare around the country; taking away collective bargaining, taking away Medicaid, pushing for state militias ruled by the Republican governor, and now in Michigan, literally giving the government to corporations. All of this will result in a Republican dystopia; a negative utopia often characterized by an authoritarian or totalitarian form of government which entails a repressive and controlled state."
"Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is calling this power grab a “$45 billion cost-cutting budget,” thereby attempting to package an unprecedented power grab as the answer to fiscal woes. Governor Synder suggests these cuts are part of a “shared sacrifice”, as he tries to appeal to the renowned work ethic of heartlanders. Of course, that “shared sacrifice” raises taxes on Michiganders while cutting services and changes the state’s corporate tax structure so only large “C” corporations pay business taxes while all other corporations get off scot-free. This amounts to a 1.8 billion dollar tax break to business. This “shared sacrifice” eliminates tax breaks for seniors and low-income workers and gets kills many other income tax deductions for individuals."
"So, brothers, what's your story?"
