MooPig Report from the Middle :: Idle Chat back in the Day

Back in the day, the 60's through the 80's men had a very different role in American society. When men of this era were recruited for jobs they had to make a decision to be part of the machine, or not. IBM for instance made their dress code look like Men in Black. Technicians wore black suit, black thin tie, and black Oxfords.

Men in the office were dressing like you see in the TV series Mad Men. Everyone who did not join the machine and work for the Man, was dressing in tie die and jeans. In other words what you wore described your social leanings. Thus, was my Dad, progressive JFK/LBJ all the Way, 60's mad man of the century.

"What's the good word," my Dad would say often to open up a conversation.

Another of Dad's openers was, "In the future people will stand in line for everything."

And it wasn't about ambition, it was about playing the game. Either you were in, or you were out. Curmudgeons not accepted. There was no time to dilly dally about your role in the game. And the game had a beginning, a middle, and an end. Be prepared, like a good Scout.

So when I met his buddies I always said, "How's it going? Are you in the money?"

But, what is happening today?

There is a kind of speed of thought disruption in today's rhetoric; and this new speed has no limits. It is leading to impatience in people who are tired of the old crappy sayings. Why don't we see any improvements? I think it is because we are not yet twenty years into our new century. After which rhetoric will catch up with itself. Things candidates are saying today in debates and press opportunities consist of old archaic, troubled dumbo jumbo.

We are ready for a new vision, and for a quick end to old bullshit. Let's play leap frog and go directly to newer business models. Forget about old money, and move on to generation "Do It!" F12 that motha, and put a new hat on it. It is time for a happenin' that won't depend on brain-washed outmoded politicians and their minions.

"It" is on the horizon, but looks like it will only take place in the 2020's. Too much trash to remove today. And lots of excuses put out there by mouth pieces. So be patient-kind and DON'T rewind!

CONCLUSION
So, dear reader, are you in or are you out? And how you gonna' dress to prove your convictions? If you equate old times with stodgy old worn out platitudes, you might get left behind in the 2020's.

We are working on our speech that will summarize our near future. It will be something like leap frogging alternate living self-sufficiency on a five acre plot essay.

And that is our Report from the Middle this Sunday afternoon where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children are above average ... thank you Garrison.

That's a Fact Jack

Some might say, "I refuse to work with GREEN companies!" Working with GREEN seems to irritate many who might have start-up ideas, and for many who might have traditional industry that is fifty to eighty years old. Operations can be hindered in old industry by new Cradle 2 Cradle driven regulations. It looks like a new concept, but it is already fifty years in developing.

Because many industries like "building construction" lag behind other industries in absorbing new technology, our built environment suffers. Even in this century many father to son/Mother to daughter generational businesses do not embrace environmental friendly practices.

What is the "mountain" that society has to surmount to get industry less draining on the ecosystems of the world? In a word it is "ego." Yes a corporation can have an ego, since it is deemed a person in our mixed up oligarchy. Corp's can have id's and animus, and all the aspects of living things. But ego is the most obstructive wall to face changing times. The truth is that if change is not faced with diligence, then Nature changes it for us. YIKES!

Heart of Darkness is really the last chapter book of humans. From a summary of that book "...The impetus behind Marlow’s adventures, too, has to do with the hypocrisy inherent in the rhetoric used to justify imperialism ..."

Hearken the advent of Cradle to Cradle design:

William McDonough: Cradle to cradle design | TED Talk Subtitles and Transcript | TED.com: "And in my business as an architect, it's unfortunate the word "humility" and the word "architect" have not appeared in the same paragraph since "The Fountainhead." So if anybody here has trouble with the concept of design humility, reflect on this -- it took us 5,000 years to put wheels on our luggage. So, as Kevin Kelly pointed out, there is no endgame. There is an infinite game, and we're playing in that infinite game. And so we call it "cradle to cradle," and our goal is very simple."
'via Blog this'

CONCLUSION
We could talk in ad nausea about this monster topic. We instead just wag our heads at the difficulty in overcoming human egos to make stuff more environmentally friendly. Maybe some kind of rhetoric will arise that captures the imaginations of those who are imaginative enough to start up industries... eh?

We will keep you posted.

MooPig Solutions Department :: "Cancer has its way with People"

This Little Known Chinese Herb Kills 12,000 Cancer Cells For Every Healthy Cell | Collective-Evolution: "Despite these statistics, new research is emerging everyday that puts into question the only two approved treatments for cancer, which are radiation and chemotherapy. It seems we are approaching a time where the medical community will be forced to open up to new options when it comes to cancer treatment. After all, scientists have discovered that chemotherapy fuels cancer growth and kills the patient more quickly, yet nothing has been changed, both are extremely toxic to the human body."

What Happened to the Rock Critic? | Dissent Magazine: "As he narrates his trajectory from freelance writer to music editor at the Village Voice to star rock critic of the 1970s and ‘80s, Christgau offers several more revealing tidbits. For example, his trademark—the doling out of letter grades to albums and titling his reviews a “consumer guide”—was developed to annoy “a counterculture that considered consumption counterrevolutionary and didn’t like grades either.” He also argues that his reputation as Dean of Rock Criticism was somewhat tongue in cheek."

In fighting wild fires, fighters use what is called fire suppression. The fire-fighters start a fire at the edge of the "out of control wild fire" which consumes the fuel that would spread the maelstrom. It is a sort of "fire paradox" and metaphor for how to control a Data Explosion.

How Complex Networks Explode with Growth | Quanta Magazine: "...A fresh new understanding of such systems — the way they grow, and how they break — has arisen from the physics of coffee. Researchers usually think of network connectivity as happening in a slow, continuous manner, similar to the way water moves through freshly ground coffee beans, slowly saturating all the granules to become coffee in the container below. However, over the past few years, researchers have discovered that in special cases, connectivity might emerge with a bang, not a whimper, via a phenomenon they have dubbed “explosive percolation.” ..."

"... Courtesy of Raissa D'Souza Clusters grown via explosive percolation... This new understanding of how über-connectivity emerges, which was described earlier this month in the journal Nature Physics, is the first step toward identifying warning signs that may occur when such systems go awry — for example, when power grids begin to fail, or when an infectious disease starts to mushroom into a global pandemic. Explosive percolation may help create effective intervention strategies to control that behavior and, perhaps, avoid catastrophic consequences..."

How Can iPAD Help with Brain Disorder...?
Mixed Martial Articles by Pat Darnell  |  Aug 5, 2015  |  Bryan TX
[Picture LINK]

Re-directed article fully quoted as follows:
"... A “brain training” game improves the cognitive function of people with schizophrenia and facilitates everyday tasks, according to researchers at the University of Cambridge.
Wizard, which will now be available on iOS (Apple’s operating system) as part of the Peak app, was tested for four weeks by 22 participants with a schizophrenia diagnosis.
"... Schizophrenia is a long-term mental health condition which can contribute to behavioural changes, confused thinking, apathy and, in some cases, delusions or hallucinations.
People with schizophrenia may experience cognitive impairments, including poor episodic memory, which affects remembering things such as times and dates, and understanding context.
"... Wizard aims to improve the cognitive functionality and episodic memory of people with schizophrenia, with in-game tasks including users moving through rooms and identifying items in boxes and character locations.
"... Professor Barbara Sahakian, who developed the game alongside Tom Piercy at Cambridge, said: “We need a way of treating the cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, such as problems with episodic memory, but slow progress is being made towards developing a drug treatment. So this proof-of-concept study is important because it demonstrates that the memory game can help where drugs have so far failed.
"... “Because the game is interesting, even those patients with a general lack of motivation are spurred on to continue the training.”
"... Another member of the research team, Peter Jones, added that further studies with larger sample sizes would need to be carried out to confirm the current findings, but that: “in conjunction with medication and current psychological therapies, [Wizard] could help people with schizophrenia minimise the impact of their illness on everyday life.” (Hannah Jane Parkinson. Aug 3, 2015. HERE) ..."
Brain training app could help people with schizophrenia - Yahoo News Canada: "Importantly, the patients also said they enjoyed the game and were motivated to play it across the eight hours of cognitive training. The researchers said this was important, since lack of motivation is a common feature of schizophrenia.

CONCLUSION
We haven't tested this App. If a person is schizophrenic, he often doesn't know it. And this App probably will become the most referred App in the world, because everyone will see its importance as it applies to "someone else," such as a relative, a friend, or a friend of a friend. Lord help us.

In our humble opinion, if you are sensitive or actually have a condition that inhibits your everyday activity, you might be interested in how "technology" can help you in your journeys.

It so happens that we noticed a long time ago that the computer age was developed by an elite class of journeymen scientists and politicians. We saw very little being done to make, for instance, the QWERTY keyboard more suited to those who cannot type. Any individual might not be able to type because they have no fingers, or because they have no cognitive engine. It is obvious that little to nothing has been done to make the Internet accessible for seeing impaired people, or for hearing impaired, or for speech impaired... and so on.

The biggest draw on the Internet is "Ridiculousness" ... that's right. The act of turning every effort into a monstrous exhibition of chaotic cacophonous rancor ... either via youTube, Social Media, or pornography. This is the aspect of the Internet that turns off the "older generation." Until Generation Jones is no longer the majority, Internet will suffer in areas of control and legislation.

If just one half-wit today realizes how useless the Internet is for those who cannot merge on the highway of information, due to personal infirmity, something could be done.

Patrick Darnell  ::  ... I get sort of mimosa bloomed when I hear about Stephen H, in that with everything that is going on, there is still Stephen Hawking talking, when for every reason out there he should not be making headlines like this. But yes, Ai will have the look and feel of anarchist global elite because that is who will develop Ai. Ai will look like its creator. [Neo was the 7th attempt at modifying the matrix, he had to choose to save 'creation -- humanity' or perfect the 'created Ai --Matrix' ... he chose to save Trinity] ... someone out there needs to make a comic book about Stephen Hawking where he is his mortal, wheel chair ridden self until he is moved to become his super powered alter-self ... and forestalls all our human inferior thinking... eh?

While sitting around, "Post. "

While sitting around post-graduated, deciding what it means to obtain a degree, and thinking on careers, opportunities, and community; now is the time to join up, so I’m told by career services at the University. Join up with the Artists’ guild, Apprenticeships, and maybe Pipe Fitters? Hummmmmm: I cogitate completion of dream projects in my own lifetime.

More for my sake; staying on track and in focus is my chief mission. But I can’t stay on track if I suddenly make a sideway shift of situation. If I digress into obscurity for sake of MooPig, and for being now Summa .com Bona fide, well then here goes. You will see the logic in the end.

Please join me now in a time-travel excursion. In context of me, you and they, assembled on earth in the present, and looking skyward would see ancient history as information attached to light coming to us from far away stars and galaxies. True enough. Cosmological Information interjected in our history always amplifies the present and known human history. It is the way of things.
For instance look at this definition of black matter, Holeum, and its inverse relationship with stability of black holes... parameters set forth at first by wheelchair borne physicist, Hawking:
An isolated black hole is subject to the evaporation of its mass due to the Hawking radiation caused by the vacuum fluctuations in its vicinity. This would seem to rule out the possibility of formation of bound states of primordial black holes. There are two conditions which need to be satisfied for a black hole to evaporate due to Hawking radiation:
(a) The black hole should be isolated.
(b) It sould be in field-free space.

Primordial (microscopic) black holes were produced in vast quantities in the immediate aftermath of the Big Bang. The conditions prevalent in that era were very different from those present today.
(1) Matter was highly compressed - all matter was closely packed together, and expanding at a high rate. This violates the condition of isolation of black holes necessary for the Hawking radiation.
(2) Near the unification temperature, of the order of 1016 GeV, all the four fundamental interactions of nature are expected to have the same strength.

In particular, the gravitational interaction would have a strength far greater than it has now. This violates another condition for the Hawking radiation, namely, a field-free space.

This also means that the rate of gravitational interactions among the black holes would correspondingly be higher - and they would form stable, bound states. In other words, extremely high number density, vastly stronger gravity and an enormously larger rate of interactions are likely to lead to the formation of stable bound states of primordial black holes.

New research calls these stable gravitational bound states of PBHs "holeum", and leads to the conclusion that they form an important constituent of dark matter. ( Antares Aldeberan on September 30, 2003 08:28:31 UTC Holeum - Black Matter Mystery Resolved? retrieved Sep 14, 2007)

Much of the discussion of the nature of black holes, and dark matter has revolved around Hawking's reversal of his own theory that information is lost as the black hole consumes light. He has modified his position to admit the possibility that information is not lost in the immense gravity of the BH, or the PBH. I think this is fascinating. Let me try to explain why I like this so much.
Our time is now but our reflected informational light-borne history is at once also our past. And to those outside our blue ball of earth, our past is the information they are receiving in their present conditions.

Can we conclude therefore if my friend in a distant galaxy is working on a project and my other contact is managing a project on Neptune, the Neptunian sees both or our pasts, as he whiles away? He, she, or it, adds that information to the project management on Neptune: I add the two sources to my project book, and so on for the gala-Xian distant.

Project management: The perfect pastime on earth has been bureaucratic in nature for centuries. For instance, we have a pre-disposed occupation of digging up our bones all over the planet, reassembling them, carbon-dating them and furthermore making contemplation, consideration and observation. What is this bureaucratic bone-picking actually accomplishing? I would surmise it satisfies the need to find evidence that others lived on earth in a capacity of survival as we do in our present state of being.

Carbon dating is a variety of radioactive dating which is applicable only to matter which was once living and presumed to be in equilibrium with the atmosphere, taking in carbon dioxide from the air for photosynthesis.

Cosmic ray protons blast nuclei in the upper atmosphere, producing neutrons
which in turn bombard nitrogen, the major constituent of the atmosphere . This neutron bombardment produces the radioactive isotope carbon-14. The radioactive carbon-14 combines with oxygen to form carbon dioxide and is incorporated into the cycle of living things.

The carbon-14 forms at a rate which appears to be constant, so that by
measuring the radioactive emissions from once-living matter and comparing its
activity with the equilibrium level of living things, a measurement of the time elapsed can be made... (Nave, C. R. and Nave, B. C., Physics for the Health Sciences, 3rd Ed, W. B. Saunders, 1985)
Certainly a mouthful, of time traveling conjecture; but can we agree we, they and you exist both in the present and the past at identical times?

Let’s call this one the Babushkas Paradox.
If I have many thoughts roaming in my head while I watch the grass grow in Bryan/College Station, and I feel that any action I take will require money, I simply do not take any action. If I feel the action is warranted then maybe I will act, and if it is pending with danger Post-its all over it, then I will have to act regardless.

This is the definition of my tension, and stress. My life as married man is: commiserating with corollary of need and accomplishment. Sustenance of the married man: sex shat shower shave, and after that limerick of self-preserving, the toil is in finding tricks for staying ahead of the children and pets in their constant shape shifting and urges to emerge.

Babushka was in turmoil because her accomplished ability of preparing for the needs of the present bled over into her future on a tragic basis. She would clean house, organize and prepare for the event to be, but to a degree of neglect of self. I know all mature parents know what I am speaking of.

Because Babushka never factored in the need to sleep after toiling over floors, cabinets and recipes, she fell asleep and missed the camel train to Bethlehem. Our wise men were reticent to wake her the next morning, and left at sun up without her. She then arrived too late to see the swaddled newborn son of man, as she just missed them in their flight from genocide.

It turns out, my present and future plan is to continue as a bureaucrat ossifying in my own bona fide capacity. I will regard my toil as the continued management of the project of married male with children, dog and companion. The bones we pick over now will assuredly be of use to others in the future. I very much look forward to fully confusing readers in the near past, with my spectrum of waiting, watching and pretty much being what I have been.

You see all the projects will have been completed in the multiplicity of our time traveling. So I am not stressed as before about finishing all the tasks, rather I ponder the completion of dreams through the children. >>pd
