MooPig Movie Reviews :: The Making of "In the Year of the Pig [1968]"

In the Year of the Pig is a 1968 documentary film about the origins of the Vietnam War, directed by Emile de Antonio. It was nominated for an Academy award for best documentary.

Most of the time MooPig puts out here a blurb of history, that we leave for the reader to "decide for oneself" what might be the significance. Today is no exception. Maybe some from that era never knew about this documentary.

The Vietnam War was played out during my youth, at a time when I had to make good grades to stay in school, or otherwise be drafted into the Army. I very much did not want to go to Vietnam, mostly because it was an imbalanced effort on America's part, that left many of my group dead.

The Making of the "Year of the Pig" might help some to understand those confusing times.
