The World's First Temple: "It is likely the megaliths at the Neolithic site of Göbekli Tepe in Turkey once supported roofs. Archaeologists have found floors constructed of burnt lime and clay within the stone circles--the earliest such floors ever discovered. (Haldun Aydingün)"

Here's the dealio. All around the world are found the remnants of civilizations. Most of what's left is large adorned megalithic stonework. If it is all ceremonial architecture, then we are talking jewelry of the gods. Only a god could wear a circle of 25 thousand pound megaliths.
So, maybe remnants of 'everyday humans' is not plentiful, nor as imposing. Maybe billions of humans have perished unnoticed, but their megaliths remain. People alive today go looking for a place to dig up some everyday things of those patrons of the ancient megalith, and occasionally find some.
But the main reason for most ancient architecture has been to portray a central place where homage to their deities can be sited. The other reason for all this bloody stonework seems to be to tell the story of rituals in freeze frame, so others won't screw up the ceremonies. Problem is there are no persons alive who have any idea what those rituals were.
Recently down in Turkey, clever and insightful diggers have uncovered stone circles of megalith proportions that are said to be 'the oldest temples around.' Yes, they are older than that youngster Stonehenge in England, older than the pyramids, and Sphinx, down Ghiza way, and older than dirt. And it is good, good, good.
What starts to stink is the free associations that 'archaeologists' begin pinning on the structures. There seems to be a hierarchy of ass kissing in the archaeologist ranks.
The first one to find the site gets the hard kissing. And the joy runs downhill from there. From then on the first liar has no chance of ever winning the argument. The founder, in other words, looks like a total Rush Limbaugh as time marches on from the discovery date.
Unless the 'finding' is what someone is actually looking for, you will have this steady stream of conjecture based on metaphorical language of today. What if 'Rappers' had founded this Neolithic site of Göbekli Tepe in Turkey? You do the rhyme.
For instance the onlooker sees 40,000 pound cut stones in an upright position and he says: "These once supported the ceiling."
YIKES!! MooPig, who actually sometimes thinks outside its belly, spies these T-shaped stones of Göbekli and say: "WTF? Where did that come from? Those are post modern balustrades and flying buttresses."
Then we would ask ourselves: "What in tar nation do those carvings of animals MEAN!?"
No lie. There is no one around who can say with 'any' accuracy what this total wonder really is. No one.
What do we at MooPig Megalith News Department really think we are looking at in photos of Neolithic site of Göbekli Tepe in Turkey? We are thinking it is another abandoned stage set for 'Survivor.'
