MooPig Anthology and Stuff Department had been reading about "Cargo Cults," when this article stuck out from the rest. The article is irreverent of indigenous people who practice one or another cults. The reason for the contempt is that it implies that all of us earth dwellers subject ourselves to believing in "higher power" cults that turn out to be simply "advanced technology."

CONCLUSION
The article suggests that these kinds of cult followings can be eradicated through education. MooPig Wisdom thinks that cults will never be eradicated. Sure, one can read about traits and practices of people and become wise to a cult, which is what anthology is all about, but humans apparently need something to believe in. So no matter what kind of "tosh" is removed from belief systems, another whole set of rituals are borne to make a new belief system with a cult following.

Following a belief with rituals and such is said most often to "fill a void" in the heart of the follower. And your Lords and Masters are counting on all of us falling for the latest cults.

B17 in 1943: one for the record books… - progressivecentralists.org: "Although the tail actually bounced and swayed in the wind and twisted when the plane turned and all the control cables were severed, except one single elevator cable still worked, and the aircraft still flew – miraculously! The tail gunner was trapped because there was no floor connecting the tail to the rest of the plane. The waist and tail gunners used parts of the German fighter and their own parachute harnesses in an attempt to keep the tail from ripping off and the two sides of the fuselage from splitting apart. While the crew was trying to keep the bomber from coming apart, the pilot continued on his bomb run and released his bombs over the target."

As early as September, 2012, a report made by the Congressional Research Service, CRS, pointed out that taxes were not correlated to GDP in the way that Republican ideologues preach it. In fact the opposite was true.

The report was "taken down" before the elections in November, 2012. The report was re-published by Democrats HERE.

" ... The top income tax rates have changed considerably since the end of World War II. Throughout the late-1940s and 1950s, the top marginal tax rate was typically above 90%; today it is 35%. Additionally, the top capital gains tax rate was 25% in the 1950s and 1960s, 35% in the 1970s; today it is 15%. The average tax rate faced by the top 0.01% of taxpayers was above 40% until the mid-1980s; today it is below 25%. Tax rates affecting taxpayers at the top of the income distribution are currently at their lowest levels since the end of the second World War. (CRS. Thomas L. Hungerford. The conclusion?

"Lowering the tax rates on the wealthy and top earners in America do not appear to have any impact on the nation’s economic growth. (Ungar. ibid.)"

Apparently, solid, well researched data no longer matters—at least not when it comes to the Congressional Republicans. They got the report pulled, somehow. Republicans didn't like some of the wording: "Bush tax cuts" and reference to "tax cuts for the rich."

This is some real sad shit.

However, the New York Times reports that a source requesting anonymity confirmed that the decision to pull the study was done against the advice of the economics division and that the author, Mr. Hungerford, stood by the report’s findings. Historians should not delay finding an art form that will capture the last of our greatest resource, our parents' eyewitness to truly a world at war.
