That being said...you're leaving out faith. If I had the energy & the means to start a business now, I wouldn't let the signs of the times stop me. A former co-worker (who just had her first baby!) & her husband just opened a small grocery store in a shopping plaza near me. I may be way off the mark, but part of America's salvation lies in the form of more & more new small businesses, I think.

Did I ever tell you, the Greek guy I knew in Portland (the one I printed the book for with all the watercolor paintings of Greece) well, he was a political cartoonist for the London Times for many years - before he "had" to retire (leave the country) because he was really getting into dangerous territory with his work.. taking on some people that made threats, etc. Sound like your cup o' tea?
