Some might say, "I refuse to work with GREEN companies!" Working with GREEN seems to irritate many who might have start-up ideas, and for many who might have traditional industry that is fifty to eighty years old. Operations can be hindered in old industry by new Cradle 2 Cradle driven regulations. It looks like a new concept, but it is already fifty years in developing.

Because many industries like "building construction" lag behind other industries in absorbing new technology, our built environment suffers. Even in this century many father to son/Mother to daughter generational businesses do not embrace environmental friendly practices.

What is the "mountain" that society has to surmount to get industry less draining on the ecosystems of the world? In a word it is "ego." Yes a corporation can have an ego, since it is deemed a person in our mixed up oligarchy. Corp's can have id's and animus, and all the aspects of living things. But ego is the most obstructive wall to face changing times. The truth is that if change is not faced with diligence, then Nature changes it for us. YIKES!

Heart of Darkness is really the last chapter book of humans. From a summary of that book "...The impetus behind Marlow’s adventures, too, has to do with the hypocrisy inherent in the rhetoric used to justify imperialism ..."

CONCLUSION
We could talk in ad nausea about this monster topic. We instead just wag our heads at the difficulty in overcoming human egos to make stuff more environmentally friendly. Maybe some kind of rhetoric will arise that captures the imaginations of those who are imaginative enough to start up industries... eh?

Thanks to John Franks who posted about ACT on faceBook. Say you have a pet Narwhal, and it never seems to be happy in your pet palace you built for him. As he suffers, you also suffer, and things get all confused.

I think we may be on to something. ACT is a therapy that is being used in cases of PTSD. When my Dad was in his final days, he was at the VA Hospital, checked in for lots of old age ailments. His suffering was not pretty, nor quiet. I in fact suffer PTSD from his agonizing final journey. He used to say he had so many pains he couldn't count that high, and one of the results was that he would lash out at me, or whoever, was with him. He didn't mean it, it just happened. Communication broke down, and I couldn't get him what he needed to overcome his death rattle. He was hurting and what he said to me hurt. I absorbed his trauma.

But it was not a physical hurt, you know what I mean? But I as his son felt like I wanted to escape any of his criticisms of me during that episode. Escapism has been my whole life long journey, now that I have my father's death as a fixed point in time, maybe I don't have to escape anymore.

ACT | Association for Contextual Behavioral Science: "Developed within a coherent theoretical and philosophical framework, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a unique empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility means contacting the present moment fully as a conscious human being, and based on what the situation affords, changing or persisting in behavior in the service of chosen values."

Scientists Successfully 3D Print Embryonic Stem Cells For the First Time | Inhabitat - Sustainable Design Innovation, Eco Architecture, Green Building:

" ... The artificial tissue could also provide laboratories with a ready supply of material for research purposes, eliminating animal drug testing and the need to acquire embryonic stem cells.

The process – developed by Dr. Will Shu and his colleagues at Heriot-Watt University’s Biomedical Microengineering group in partnership with Roslin Cellab – is different from previous 3D cell printing attempts because it can produce delicate embryonic cell cultures. Supplying the micronutrients vitamin A and zinc to 80 percent of the 140 million children who lack them in developing countries is ranked as the highest priority by the expert panel at the Copenhagen Consensus 2008 Conference. The tasks of solving problems requires developing economies of developing countries to play leap frog. For instance, " ... proposals to reduce outdoor air pollution in developing country cities by installing technologies to cut the emissions of particulates from diesel vehicles. Other ... solutions included a tobacco tax, improved stoves to reduce indoor air pollution, and extending microfinance. ... "

The leap frog tactic would allow developing economies to start with 'state-of-the-art' technologies at the beginning of their development, thus leap frog over the existing problematic carbon spewing technologies. China could start building low emission automobiles from the start, and bypass wasteful years of making carbon cannon cars.

Those are lofty installations. In most installations of new technology, the cost is recovered over twenty to ninety years in returns on investing in the welfare of developing countries. In other words, each solution is evaluated on its initial cost, usually in billions, and its return on investment.

Each solution, or opportunity, posted in the chart above could be historically a reason for war. Epidemics, migrations, trade deficits, regional catastrophe, and starvation all have caused war in our first 12,000 years of recorded history. What makes this era different? [Chart Source LINK]

Also, we still have a thousand year history of boom/bust cycles in economy. It is still going on. Japan has been in a bust cycle now for twenty-five years, although they say it is just a recession. Our USA has ceased being a developing economy, and now is in a twenty year period of "stagflation;" a term used in economics to describe a situation where an inflation rate is high, the economic growth rate slows down, and unemployment remains steadily high. Hopefully the developing economies can 'leap frog' over and past those hurdles we 'developed' economies now wallow in.

Biological Basis for Blogging

MooPigWisdom Laboratories has found the biological basis of blogging. It has to do with integrated seamless processes.

"We were able to use modern genome integrated with modern battery technology, and artifacts from barns in rural areas, to track and test literally quadrillions of gene strands," says one source from MPW Labs, Ink. "Of course I cannot divulge the total patent process, but I will tell you it is a remarkable connection across the years from now to a very famous old folk tale."

MPW Labs has named the project GLADYS. What is the encrypted message here? The Lab did also release this image for the announcement today, shown below.

"We were able to finish this project because of friggin' unbelievable bloggers worldwide," said the project manager in closing.
