MooPig Tech Coroner :: "Nuclear Power Plants"

Blunders Cast Doubt on Japan’s Cleanup of Nuclear Accident Site
Mashed articles by Pat Darnell | Oct 12, 2013 | Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

We are seeing the demise of yet another technologic wonderment from the 20th century. Nuclear power plants seemed like the answer to all humankind's energy problems back when nuclear fusion was all the craze. All we asked for was clean super hot steam to turn our turbines in generating electricity power for our existence.

It turns out, the payback for mistakes and design flaws is life altering fallout of radioactive material in our air, water, and land. Cleaning up the mess of a meltdown is near impossible. Japan is not saying much about " ... Tepco who has resorted to technological quick fixes that have failed to control the crisis, further damaging Japan’s flagging credibility and only deflecting hard decisions into the future. Some critics said the government’s new proposals offer just more of the same. ( MARTIN FACKLER. Published: September 3, 2013. LINK) ..."

" ... Most commentary on the Fukushima plant focuses on the multiple leaks of water laced with high- and low-level radiation. An estimated 300 tons of highly toxic water, including Strontium-90, has leaked from a hastily constructed tank. This became a level-3 crisis on Aug. 21, “serious” on the United Nation’s 7-point International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale, and represents the most urgent reported problem at the plant since the initial meltdowns. ( ANDREW DEWIT AND CHRISOPHER HOBSON. Aug 29, 2013. LINK)..."

Government must take over Fukushima nuclear cleanup | The Japan Times: "Even under ordinary circumstances spent-fuel removal is a difficult task, normally requiring the aid of computers. But due to the damage, removal of spent fuel from Reactor No. 4 and the five other reactors will have to be done manually. This work will be undertaken in arduous conditions, increasing the risk of yet another mishap. And if something does go wrong, the consequences could be far more severe than any nuclear accident the world has ever seen. If a fuel rod is dropped, breaks or becomes entangled while being removed, possible worst case scenarios include a big explosion, a meltdown in the pool, or a large fire. Any of these situations could lead to massive releases of deadly radionuclides into the atmosphere, putting much of Japan — including Tokyo and Yokohama — and even neighboring countries at serious risk."

[Picture LINK] "The problem with a fuel pool criticality is that you can't stop it. There are no control rods to control it,” Gundsersen said [Arnie Gunderson, a veteran US nuclear engineer and director of Fairewinds Energy Education]. “The spent fuel pool cooling system is designed only to remove decay heat, not heat from an ongoing nuclear reaction."

DAVID ICKE EXCLUSIVELY: Croatia Will Be Swallowed by Monster of 27 Nations
David Icke warns the Croatian army already lost its independence by joining NATO. He is coming back to Croatia due to great public interest.

According to the European media, a prime candidate to be the first president is … Tony Blair – David Icke told Javno. [SOURCE] May 16, 2009

We asked him also about the new U.S. president, Barack Obama, about whom he says is just another puppet controlled by the same people who stood behind George W. Bush’s decisions. Icke will describe Obama’s role in more detail at the lecture in Zagreb.

The economic crisis is like a football match, those who are in control do not care who loses

Icke, who is also an independent researcher, told Javno that Croatians will also have the opportunity to hear his theory of how the economic crisis began.

- The economic crisis was coldly engineered to create a global problem that can be used to justify the enormous centralisation of economic power based on a world central bank which I have been predicting for nearly 20 years. The situation is far worse than we are being told and the governments are emptying their guns by borrowing incredible sums of money and throwing it away at the banks and other projects. When governments have no responses left, those that control the banking cartel plan to crash the world economy still further until their ‘solutions’ are agreed – Icke said.

He compared the global crisis to a football match.

- What happens to ‘individual’ banks doesn’t matter to those who control the financial system itself. If you control a football competition, for example, it doesn’t matter to you if this or that team wins because you control the game itself and so you can’t lose – he explained.

Introducing MooPig Paint

January 2009 is the year I complete 100 paintings, or two a week. Ambitious? You betcha.

At MooPig Paint I will post a painting for view. Here is a study in Fibonacci numbers and the role they play in proportion.

These fossils are in a triangle and placed at coordinates of a golden mean rectangle within the edges of the canvas. If you look closely you can see the construct lines of the rectangles.

I use this and other studies to teach others, especially kids about painting, and hope they get a better understanding of the rudiments of oil on canvas.

Taxation without Respiration... give me a breath!!!!

Smells like French fries, looks like French Fries, Ummmm... tastes like French Fries:

Or so this article says from March 6, 2007 -- "Epiphanies about energy security and fairness notwithstanding, this story certainly reinforces decades worth of conspiracy stories about oil companies quashing competition by lobbying for unfair regulations..." (Laumer, J; 3/6/07)

Illinois Man Fined Thousands And Threatened With Felony Prosecution For Using Untaxed Biodiesel

by John Laumer, Philadelphia on 03. 6.07
Business & Politics
Via Daily Kos Diary, "...David Wetzel, a 79 yr old retired chemist from Decatur IL had been using recycled vegetable oil in his 1985 Volkswagen Golf diesel car for 7 years. This January, " the State of Illinois Dept. of Revenue sent 2 "special agents," Gary May and John Egan to his house. The two agents threatened the couple with felony charges and asked them to post a $2,500 bond!"

According to the Herald & Review, where the full story is explained, a Republican State Senator has introduced a State bill "...which would curtail government interference regarding alternative fuels, such as vegetable oil..."

I would agree that the bond is not acceptable, $2,500 bond," Watson said, adding that David Wetzel should be commended for his innovative efforts." (His car) gets 46 miles per gallon running on vegetable oil. We all should be thinking about doing without gasoline if we're trying to end foreign dependency."" Decatur man greases skids for veggie oil fuel with state Senate testimony

By HUEY FREEMAN - H&R Staff Writer /Thursday, March 1, 2007 11:59 PM CST
Wetzel told the committee how revenue agents visited his home one morning, telling him he had to pay fuel tax on each gallon of vegetable oil he used. He was later told he had to apply for a supplier's license and post a bond, or he would be charged with a Class 3 felony. Wetzel declined to apply because he did not fit the revenue department's definition of a supplier, which includes storage capacity of at least 30,000 gallons.

"I have no problem paying the taxes, but somehow they've got to make it easy," Wetzel said.

Three other men who have converted their vehicles to run on vegetable oil also attended the hearing.

David Ogden of Shelbyville, owner-operator of a vegetable oil-propelled semi truck, told the senators he was also threatened by the department of revenue with Class 3 felony charges. Class 3 felonies are punishable by up to five years imprisonment.

In an interview, Ogden said an agent once stopped him on the highway, telling him to stop immediately, because he did not have a supplier's license. However, he had that supplier's license.

"They're harassing me," Ogden said. "He's out there swinging his badge around. I was legal, and he didn't even know it." (read the rest at: http://www.herald-review.com/articles/2007/03/02/news/local_news/1021539.txt )
