MooPig Cosmology and Time Department :: Introducing "Civitas Humana..."

Time to get Serious?
Mixed Mashed Articles by Pat Darnell  |  Nov 9, 2014  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

Why do teachers, such as ministers, teach Metaphysics to people who can't even understand Physics? A teacher might say to a child, "Every time a bell rings an Angel gets her wings." Angels, bells, ... eh?

Time is quantifiable only if one cannot see the future nor recapture the past. We as humans see time as a axis in the dimensions of physics, stretching out linear. In nature there are living things that might be able to see past/present/future simultaneously. Not a far-fetched idea, but very basic to being human. Toying with timelines causes confusion.

What would be some of those life forms on earth that might see time differently? It is reported that lobsters never grow old, they live on and on. At least Al Sears, MD, said this:
"...They [lobsters] only die if they get eaten or injured from a predator, or get a rare disease, but never from old age. They don’t have a built-in life expectancy in their cells (Sears, Al. 01/2014. LINK)..."
And the Smithsonian claims:
"...So what would be a natural death for lobsters?
According to Carl Wilson, lead lobster biologist with the Maine Department of Marine Resources, between 10 and 15 percent of lobsters die naturally each year as they shed their exoskeletons because the exertion proves to be too much. Each molting process requires more and more energy than the one before it as lobsters grow in size (Marina Koren. JUNE 3, 2013. LINK)..."
Can't you just feel the welling up of a good molting, dear reader? In nature, live things change in shape and in form during their lifetimes. Our journey through time involves each of us changing from one form to another in almost supernatural ways. Can you explain to me the hollow ball of cells called a blastula in human reproduction. Eh?

I didn't think so.

Ah, heck discuss among yourself these too:  Fetus Morula Embryo Zygote Blastocyst Neonate... and put them in correct order according to time.

The part left out of the Books of Enoch, and other books of wisdom, includes explaining the life force of reproduction that is so dominate in all life forms... and probably explains a lot of the confusion about our cosmos too.

We tend to talk about what is observable. That makes sense. But we cannot, as previously noted, observe our past/present/future all at the same time. Here one blogger examines ...

Cosmology and Time in Metaphysical Naturalism | Civitas Humana: "For the next part of my series about the ‘metaphysics’ in metaphysical naturalism I will be analyzing how modern scientific theories about cosmology fit in to the naturalist worldview. Since I am not a professional scientist, I will be quoting authorities for all critical information. The purpose of this article is more philosophical than scientific, in that it does not seek to advance a particular scientific theory, but rather to demonstrate how modern cosmological theories align with the definition of metaphysical naturalism discussed earlier in this series (ADVERSUSAPOLOGETICA.
MAY 21, 2014. LINK)... "
'via Blog this'
"...The study of cosmology has a long history (see here), but since around the end of the 20th century scientists have reached a generally cohesive view of what our universe looks like. The observable universe that we live in is a sphere with a radius of about 46 billion lightyears. Beyond that the unobservable universe is much larger, and is still inflating rapidly. Within this observable part of the universe alone there are at least 100 billion galaxies (and possibly 500 billion galaxies in the whole universe), and, if modern observational estimates among astronomers are correct about there being 17 billion Earth-sized planets in our galaxy, then the rest of the universe no doubt contains many, many more (ibid. ADVERSUSAPOLOGETICA)..."

SUMMARY
Naturalism is a closed system, that can be observed in methodology, or not observable because of metaphysical [supernatural] causes. Scientific observation does not deal with "metaphysical" occurrence.

Stages of life are observable, but why they are observable depends on a time frame. Pat/Present/Future defines us and lobsters, and every living thing in the universe.

To experience supernatural stimuli, we humans must change from our current mental state of living in the ever-present linear time frame, to another form that can see past/present/future simultaneously. This could explain the reason for death.

MooPig Site Review :: "Igorot Warrior Headhunters of the Cordilleras"

Retrieved by Pat Darnell  |  Jan 22, 2012  |  Bryan TX

How does modern man -- who is concerned about taxes, and whether there is life on Mars -- exist in a world where still exist head-hunters? Are there still regions on earth in 2012 that have tribes of headhunters?

Why have we embarked on a world-wide quest to not understand the roots of global inequality? The last will be first and the first will be last.

The following article gives a good account, and great photos, of the headhunter life.
EXCERPT |  " ... The Cordilleras is a chain of mountains, located in Norhtern Luzon, Philippines. The inhabitants of these mountain ranges are called "Igorots" which mean "people of the mountains". They are the people who build one of the eight wonders of the world, the Banaue Rice Terraces. They were also headhunters. ...

Igorot Warrior Headhunters of the Cordilleras: "In the Igorot head hunting practice, most heads of their enemies were cut off with a battle-axe even before the wounded man was dead. If one warrior at the scene had never taken a head, he would be allowed to cut this one from the body and thus be entitled to the head taker's distinct tattoo (Chaklag)."

" ... Head hunting was for religious purposes and the acquisition of magical powers.Reasons include the desire for abundant harvests of cultivated products, the desire to be considered brave and manly. The desire for exaltation in the minds of descendants,to increase wealth, to secure abundance of wild game and fish, to secure general health and favor at the hands of the women, and to promote fertility in women. Space: SETI: The Drake Equation --the Number of Communicating ET's

Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Jan 15, 2012 | Bryan TX

Space: SETI: The Drake Equation:
Description:
The Drake Equation was developed by Frank Drake in 1961 as a way to focus on the factors which determine how many intelligent, communicating civilizations there are in our galaxy. The Drake Equation is:

N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL

N* represents the number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy
  • Question: How many stars are in the Milky Way Galaxy?
  • Answer: Current estimates are 100 billion.

fp is the fraction of stars that have planets around them
  • Question: What percentage of stars have planetary systems?
  • Answer: Current estimates range from 20% to 50%.

ne is the number of planets per star that are capable of sustaining life
  • Question: For each star that does have a planetary system, how many planets are capable of sustaining life?
  • Answer: Current estimates range from 1 to 5.

fl is the fraction of planets in ne where life evolves
  • Question: On what percentage of the planets that are capable of sustaining life does life actually evolve?
  • Answer: Current estimates range from 100% (where life can evolve it will) down to close to 0%.

fi is the fraction of fl where intelligent life evolves
  • Question: On the planets where life does evolve, what percentage evolves intelligent life?
  • Answer: Estimates range from 100% (intelligence is such a survival advantage that it will certainly evolve) down to near 0%.

fc is the fraction of fi that communicate
  • Question: What percentage of intelligent races have the means and the desire to communicate?
  • Answer: 10% to 20%

fL is fraction of the planet's life during which the communicating civilizations live
  • Question: For each civilization that does communicate, for what fraction of the planet's life does the civilization survive?
  • Answer: This is the toughest of the questions. If we take Earth as an example, the expected lifetime of our Sun and the Earth is roughly 10 billion years. So far we've been communicating with radio waves for less than 100 years. How long will our civilization survive? Will we destroy ourselves in a few years like some predict or will we overcome our problems and survive for millennia? If we were destroyed tomorrow the answer to this question would be 1/100,000,000th. If we survive for 10,000 years the answer will be 1/1,000,000th.
When all of these variables are multiplied together when come up with: N, the number of communicating civilizations in the galaxy.

The real value of the Drake Equation is not in the answer itself, but the questions that are prompted when attempting to come up with an answer. Obviously there is a tremendous amount of guess work involved when filling in the variables. As we learn more from astronomy, biology, and other sciences, we'll be able to better estimate the answers to the above questions. Many of these questions will be addressed in depth in future issues of Enigma.

Frank Drake :: In 1963 Drake took a short-lived position at the Jet Propulsion Lab and later that year he took a position at Cornell's Center for Radiophysics and Space Research. Two years later he accepted the directorship of the Cornell run Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. Drake and his family returned to Cornell in 1968.

MooPig Announcements Segment :: 4:53 AM "PANSPERMIA"

Chain, Chain, Chain
Retrievals by Pat Darnell

1953 through 1965-ish and Now
The Short Answer:
Formation of the building blocks of Life, DNA, discovered in 1953, is possibly directed by a vastly superior life form. If the properties of matter (i.e., the medium) do not suffice to explain the origin of information, what does?

In studying an object, or event, like the origin of biological life on earth, the basic approach of Intelligent Design Theory, IDT, means to apply what are essentially three key areas of questioning:
  • 1. Contingency - did it have to happen?
  • 2. Complexity - did it happen by accident?
  • 3. Specification - did an intelligent agent cause it to happen?

The Long Answer [EXCERPT]
" ... [T]he discovery of Francis Crick and James Dewey Watson. ... DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, is the foundational molecule of every lifeform on earth. Any single human DNA contains the information to direct all the one hundred trillion cells in the human body. It also has the capability of both reproducing and repairing itself.

It is a molecular chain of approximately one billion nucleotides (combination strings of four specific chemicals which function like computer code; explained a bit more here.)"

"Francis Crick's work with DNA afforded him knowledge and observations unavailable to previous evolutionists.

Specifically, Crick: "
  • knew of the astonishing complexity of DNA,
  • researched and confirmed the absence of evidence for a primordial soup,
  • observed that life appears suddenly and with complexity in the fossil record, and
  • confirmed the absence of any fossil evidence for transitional forms of life. (SOURCE)
Where did man come from?
Theory: ... directed panspermia ::
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clark

"A commonsense interpretation of the facts suggests that a superintellect has monkeyed with physics, as well as with chemistry and biology, and that there are no blind forces worth speaking about in nature." - FredHoyle

IDT and the origin of DNA
"DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, is the foundational molecule of every lifeform on earth; it's a molecular chain approximately one billion nucleotides in length.

"A nucleotide is essentially a string of four specific chemicals;
  1. adenine,
  2. cytosine,
  3. guanine,
  4. and thymine (or A, C, G, and T). (SOURCE)"
Summary:
DNA is similar to binary code, only using combinations of four characters instead of two. The order in which the four chemicals appear on any given nucleotide strand, likewise, is not controlled by any law or property of chemistry.
"Stephen C. Meyer confirms, 'Because chemical bonds do not determine the arrangement of nucleotide bases, the nucleotides can assume a vast array of possible sequences and thereby express many different biochemical messages.'"

For Arguments' Sake:
1. Life cannot have arisen by chance,
2. Mutations do not add to a cell's genetic code to improve it,
3. Multiple life forms do indeed exist which are irreducibly complex,
4. The appearance of animal types in the fossil record do not follow an inverted pyramid, but began simultaneously in the Cambrian explosion,
5. Animal species are not ever-widening but actually falling off, and...
6. There are absolutely no transitional forms in any fossil record.(SOURCE)

LIFE: Oprah Winfrey Narrates

Oprah Winfrey, not good... (sigh)
Retrieved by Pat Darnell

It surprised me to no end when I heard a strange voice coming from the TV room this afternoon. It sounded sometimes like Michael Jackson, and other times like a woman in labor. I finally got up from my work to go see who was watching what, and no one was in there.

A Documentary entitled "LIFE" was running non-stop on Discovery Channel today. It was advertised like crazy for weeks leading up to its airing. Discovery Producers might have done better soliciting the Three Tenores, had thay known the drawbacks of Oprah Winfrey's Midwestern Single-Mom dialect. Better yet, they should have made it a silent movie.

Unfortunately, when Oprah Winfrey talks about all those creatures great and small, she sounds like she is ordering pizza.

That's not all; I actually thought my speakers on the TV had blown out, because of the obnoxious music score that was definitely trying for the tin pan alley effects. It turns out, it is the real soundtrack for the series. YIKES!

Someone should call Discovery Channel direct and ask them to pull the plug -- it would be more pleasing to listen to whistling of the Indian Test Screen for the rest of the weekend.

Of course we are not the only ones who have noticed this misfire in television production ... here are some other Tweets too.. but first this tidbit about our Queen of daytime television, from Chicago:
"Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American television host, producer, and philanthropist, best known for her self-titled, multi-award winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history. She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century and beyond, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and was once the world's only black billionaire. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world. (From Wikipedia)"
Actually it is too tragic that Oprah failed to leave a good track for the show. Oprah, who could buy the whole planet if she liked, puts us, John Q Public in a precarious position: this sort of defeats the purpose of it all, no?

More Perspectives: As for me and my house...

From: d2r2

I have been closely involved with this operation since the git-go.

Truly, the only thing more lonesome than the video in storage is, possibly, the book the movie was based on sitting on a shelf.

I had to sort thru the tapes and discs many times, while in storage, and they were sirens singing to me. Sometimes I would grab up great quantities and stack them carefully to re-box and take somewhere. Then I would snap back to reality and put them back. Sometimes I would take out one here and one there, to watch later with great interest to discover what all the talk was about. Some of those are on shelves in my house. I also picked up my all time favorites, and there are many.
"Predator", no words, just action.
Even the Mom mentioned likes this one. "The Incredibles", says it all. "Easy Rider", My Generation.
"Life As A House", Fatherhood dissected.

Movies are American, like Jazz.
We live our movies and they tell our stories. American is the teeming masses of the world in a coast-to-coast-to-coast-to-coast landscape of purple mountains majesty and amber waves of grain. Home of the brave and land of the free. I drive around a 100 mile loop called Beltway 8 and see every church in the world showcased by its faithful congregation, operating and worshipping with no strings attached. The people get tired and discouraged with leadership and they, how mundane, vote them out of office.

Movies are made about life, the universe and everything.

I'm cinematically yours, Dave
