Insurance Company Won't Cover Fracking Process | Seneca Daily News: "Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. has become the first major insurance company to say it won’t cover damage related to a gas drilling process that blasts chemical-laden water deep into the ground.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company’s personal and commercial policies “were not designed to cover” risk from the drilling process, called hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, Nationwide spokeswoman Nancy Smeltzer said Thursday.

The process injects chemically treated water into wells to fracture shale thousands of feet underground and release trapped gas or oil. There are rich shale deposits in parts of Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, West Virginia and elsewhere."

Oil business balks at a term it created: ‘fracking’
The same energy industry which created the term “fracking” is now criticizing its use by others.
Energy giants feel the word has a negative sound to it and is being used by environmentalists and others to make them look worse. They now prefer the term from which fracking was derived: “hydraulic fracturing.”

Groat, a former Director of the U.S. Geological Survey and professor at the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin, also sits on the board of Plains Exploration and Production Company, a Houston-based company that conducts drilling and fracking in Texas and other parts of the country. According to the new report (and a review of the company’s financial reports by Bloomberg) Groat received more than $400,000 from the drilling company last year alone, more than double his salary at the University. And one of the shales examined in Groat’s fracking study is currently being drilled by the company, the report says.
Since 2007, Groat has received over $1.5 million in cash and stock awards from the company, and he currently holds over $1.6 million in company stock, according to the PAI report.

Tell the people around wells near Dallas or people whose home is over the Eagle Ford shale. Fracking cannot be separated from the deep well disposal of used fracking fluids containing unknown dangerous compounds. The deep well disposal of these compounds have absolutely been shown to cause earthquakes.

So dispense with the double-speak. Fracking causes earthquakes.

Whether these earthquakes cause damage or injury is luck. Nevertheless, corporations that create waste liquids that are disposed of by deep well injection should be financially responsible for the damage the induced earthquakes cause, and damage to the ground water that results from their activities..

Natural gas and oil companies are expected to begin revealing which chemicals they employ in the drilling process hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, in compliance with a new rule of the Texas Railroad Commission.
The companies also must reveal the amounts of water they use in the drilling process, which is widespread in such areas as South Texas’ Eagle Ford Shale play and North Dakota’s Bakken oil field.

The companies still can keep a lid on any “trade secret” formulas for fracking fluids.
Some environmentalists believe fracking compromises an area’s groundwater supply by polluting it with chemicals. Such chemicals are mixed with sand in millions of gallons of water injected into shale formations at high pressure to release trapped oil or gas.

Sometimes it pays dividends to go to sites that have been tenderly set up to preserve and protect valuable works. So in response to the full court press by Pribek [HERE] and many other places, here is the lucidity his question requires: Trying to stump me in my passion for Texas Hill country, Pribek wrote, "...any cane on the Brazos?" Therefore I answer: Cane is gone along the Brazos. It is a muddy fast moving, geological youngster of a river. There is no beaches or ox bows, nor lazy Huck Finn Islands found along the Brazos course. However, I will have to get back to you on the situation of how much cane can be found today, if 5% or 50% of its original marsh grasses...

The other connection, I think Mr Pribek is also trying to fool me with Bob Dylan and his Basement Tapes. I had the double album Blonde on Blonde, until someone absconded it. I probably should have drilled pin holes in the two records to signify them as mine. If you have my B on B, and you are reading this, please contact me and tell me how it has been going.

It turns out, I never really liked the album, since it's mixing is [low quality] questionable -- "...Blonde on Blonde has been issued in no fewer than eleven different forms, with marked differences in mixes and track lengths. No specific version has been established as canonical [wkpd]..."

I must have had one of the bad ones... eh?

One more little negative thing about Dylan; his singing voice puts a desire to avoid and reject his cuts. It is a clash of temperaments, I never have fully appreciated his nasal, deep-South, country attempt. That is because I grew up down here where the real thing can be heard and hated. I assume, and correct me if not possible, that Dylan is from a Northern rural Minnesota upbringing. His adaptation of the deep South Delta Blues Rock voice is an agitation as a shade fake in my ear. Call me a purist, but down home is down home... no?

To understand some of this would require one to work here with the scorching sun on your back, and impossible clay mud sticking to your boots. One has to stay hydrated like you cannot believe, and that is the tonal basis you find usually from New Orleans, to Black Baptist Churches of Houston near briny back waters and marshes along the Intracoastal Waterway located from the Rigolets, Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet Canal to Industrial Canals in Texas .... a different breed lives down here.

Dylan is okay for trying, I suppose, but he has never been the real thing for my listening pleasure.

1. For all those without a grasp of American geography, the Brazos is a river in Texas which features in many prison songs because it runs past virtually all of the old prisons in Texas.
2. Old Hannah is the name given to sun.
3. Captain is one of the ranks in the hierarchy of prison guards, the man in charge of half the workers in a field. Also used outside the prisons to mean the White boss. In some of the old slave songs the singers call Jesus their captain.
4. Bully: an inmate working in the line. The word can also be used as a verb, in which case it means working hard.
5. Lifetime sentence that is.

One Atta'Boy for Brazos County Police !!
Undercover officers posing as a 13-year-old girl communicated with Joe Barron, 52, of Plano for about two weeks. The online conversations were sexual in nature, police said.
On May 6, Barron suggested meeting the girl in person. He eventually made the nearly 200-mile drive to Bryan on Thursday, when he was arrested. Police said they found a web-cam and condoms in his car. OOOPPPS !!

Barron was released Friday night from the Brazos County Jail on bond. Police were unsure whether he had an attorney.
Barron is one of 40 ministers at Prestonwood Baptist Church, one of the largest churches in the country with 26,000 members. He ministers to married adults.

BRYAN, Texas (May 17) - A minister from a Dallas-area Baptist megachurch was caught in an Internet sex sting and charged with online solicitation of a minor, police said Friday.

...Mike Buster, executive pastor, said in a statement that the church had no record or knowledge of previous improprieties or saw any inappropriate behavior in the 18 months Barron was on the church staff.
