Epigentic Inheritance
Mashed articles by Pat Darnell  |  Nov 12, 2015  |  Bryan TX

Have you ever been told you have your mother's eyes? Or has anyone ever told you you have your father's maniacal three personality bombastic attitude? Hey, it is not so far-fetched that our family patriarchs and matriarchs have passed on their physical and behavioral traits to us siblings. Eh?
"...According to convention, the genetic sequences contained in DNA are the only way to transmit biological information across generations. Random DNA mutations, when beneficial, enable organisms to adapt to changing conditions, but this process typically occurs slowly over many generations.(Ewen Callaway and Nature magazine | December 1, 2013. LINK)..."
As far as D. D. Faraday can see, sitting editor of MooPig's Biological Basis of Behavior Department, epigenetic inheritance is possible in first generation of humans, if habitat is a big factor. "Epigentics is a new area of study," Says D. D. Faraday.

Observers have long thought that traits are only passed down if there is a biological link from parent to child. Evidence now shows up in experiments with mice that DNA might be the ultimate link for many passed down behaviors.

Researchers Discover That Memories Can Be Passed Down Through Changes In Our DNA | Collective-Evolution: "Adding further complexity to our often mystifying genetic code, research from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia has shown that it’s possible for information to be inherited biologically through our DNA. More specifically, their research shows that behaviour can be affected by events in previous generations which have been passed on through a form of genetic memory. (November 12, 2015 by Arjun Walia. LINK)"
'via Blog this'
"...Humans inherit epigenetic alterations that influence behaviour, too, Ressler suspects. A parent’s anxiety, he speculates, could influence later generations through epigenetic modifications to receptors for stress hormones. But Ressler and Dias are not sure how to prove the case, and they plan to focus on lab animals for the time being. (ibid. Callaway)..."
CONCLUSION
Epigenetic --  relating to, being, or involving changes in gene function that do not involve changes in DNA sequence -- epigenetic inheritance.

March Against Monsanto Is The Beginning of The End For Monsanto

March Against Monsanto Is The Beginning of The End For Monsanto:   EXCERPT  |  " ...Even organic and natural farmers are subject to such legal attacks, since it’s possible for the patented seeds (which India calls biopiracy) to blow over to such farms and begin to grow. This is also how widespread GMO contamination begins, to which the USDA simply responds ‘get insurance’.

" ... We can even go back decades to find that Monsanto was integral in the creation of the infamous Agent Orange, a Vietnam-era chemical warfare weapon which estimates say killed or maimed around 400,000 people and caused a startling 500,000 birth defects. But the days where this information could hide as footnotes within the media are over. (May 14, 2013 . by Anthony Gucciardi. LINK) ... "

About a year ago last April, I wrote a Report from the Middle about depression, HERE. Count your blessings if you have no depression. Some say love of money, the root of all evil, invokes depression on a large scale.
EXCERPT  |  " ... A survey documented in the 2010 World of Work Report published by the International Institute for Labour Studies suggests that the [financial] crisis has induced an unprecedented global decline in life satisfaction. In concrete terms this has translated into greater pessimism about the quality of life, diminished confidence in the ability of governments to shape brighter and fairer futures, and greater social unrest among other things. (Chen, Michelle. April 28, 2012. HERE)... "
It is becoming more evident that the large corporations are not helping in this matter. Rather they continue to figure out ways for working people to pay for global take over of the food sources.

In a comment from my April, 2012 post comes this:
"Monsanto, which is almost synonymous with agriculture, developed Round-Up some years ago. It is a safe and highly effective herbicide, when used properly. The first non-selective type that is comparatively safe around the root systems of plants.(I will qualify all of my statements here because the X-factors of greed and impatience aren't included in the chemical equation of glyphosphate, which is the weed killing compound in Round-Up).
"Properly used, it is sprayed on the leaf structure of a plant, kills its way to the roots and then basically stops harming vegetation.
"Some types of food crops have been genetically altered to tolerate glyphosphate, making them able to be treated and continue growing. Other seeds have been altered with certain organic genes to prevent insect damage. The trade off is, the companies trying to help the situation are "For Profit Companies" and would like to sell more seeds. The plants are fairly sterile to facilitate replenishment by the companies involved.

"Food and fiber are important, as are many other things. American farmers are the bell tower of the world when it comes to producing and delivering these commodities. Left alone, they would make the U.S. would look like a cornucopia. Spilling out into a hungry world. (Darnell, David. July 14, 2010.) "
CONCLUSION
Genetic engineering of food sources has sped up de-evolution of mankind, and sped up the impending demise of Monsanto.

Moopig's Brands Department :: "On Becoming a Punch Line"

Snipped by Pat Darnell | Jan 11, 2013 | Bryan TX

[Picture LINK] PHOTO from July 24, 2007, 5:15 PM EST. The Associated Press

We break in on the stream-of-conscious of a reporter on the set of a movie The Canyons, directed by Paul Schrader. It co-stars Lindsay Lohan.

MooPig in its quest to dispel bombast in this world, makes a point to intercede in Lohan's career right now. You see, Timmy, people who make movies invariably go for the celebrity fatale to augment the movies' pull on the paying public. It is a test of brazenness to catch a celeb' in an upswing or a downswing, and keep that intensity going on the film.

Director Paul Schrader is no fool, as we see in the following narrative :

Here Is What Happens When You Cast Lindsay Lohan in Your Movie - NYTimes.com: "“The script has to be multi-charactered, relationship-based, full of sharp dialogue, set in contemporary locations and have a certain outrĂ© value. Cinema for the post-theatrical era. We could attract interesting actors and create a profile for the film via social media. It would be something that we own.” (STEPHEN RODRICK. Published: January 10, 2013. HERE) ... "

Read entire Article HERE ::

¶ Like Schrader, Ellis was at a crossroads. After his early successes, “Less Than Zero” and “American Psycho,” Ellis’s books hadn’t sold as well, and tired of the novel as an art form, he moved to L.A., looking to break into movies. But nothing had gone into production recently, and he was itching to get something made. He went to work on the script while Pope strategized.

¶ Schrader could talk a good game, but it was Pope who would have to implement the plan. Pope suggested making “The Canyons” the most open film ever. There would be daily Facebook updates, and the cast would be made up entirely of actors selected from audition tapes sent to the movie’s Web site. "

" ... Pope argued that this populist approach could be applied to financing as well. He explained Kickstarter to Schrader: all they had to do was come up with some good prizes, and kids of all ages would pledge money online to be associated with artist outlaws like Schrader and Ellis. Soon, the film was offering donors a Schrader script-critique for $5,001 and a week working out with Ellis and his trainer for $3,000. In a month, they raised more than $150,000.

" ... Pope reached out to Lohan. Ellis was skeptical, afraid of the melodrama Lohan would bring to the project. But Pope and Schrader reminded Ellis of what he said in an essay for The Daily Beast the previous year: “Do [Americans] really want manners? Civility? Empire courtesy? No. They want reality, no matter how crazy the celeb who brings it on has become.”
" ... Lohan. The first child of a drug-abusing, felonious stock trader and a failed dancer, Lohan survived her Long Island childhood, moved to Hollywood and became America’s newest sweetheart with winning turns in “The Parent Trap” and “Mean Girls.” She cut an album that went platinum. In 2006, she was the best thing in Robert Altman’s “Prairie Home Companion.” The future was hers to write.
" ... Then — as the voice-over in an “E! True Hollywood Story” would put it — it all fell apart. Big-budget films need insurance in case an actress dies or becomes incapacitated and can’t go on with a role. Lohan’s misadventures made her uninsurable, her work dried up and she settled in as a generation’s snarky punch line.

[ ... ]
" ... Lindsay Lohan posing nude in Playboy? If I want to see naked, overpaid, crackheads with daddy issues I'll just go buy Penthouse!
Q: How bad is Lindsay Lohan's meltdown?
A: So bad Al Gore is making a documentary about it! ... "
[ ... ]

And that is why we keep hearing about Lindsay Lohan, the incurable, in everyday media ... because she is fostered along by directors and leeches who would make a buck at her disdain.

[Picture LINK]
" ... NEW YORK – Lindsay Lohan’s antics made gossip headlines time and time again in 2012. But it seems her stint working on “The Canyons” this summer was such a catastrophe that even the New York Times couldn’t resist taking an in-depth look at the train wreck that is Lindsay Lohan. Times contributor Stephen Rodrick delves into Lohan’s days filming the Bret Eaton Ellis flick, alleging the actress’ time was filled with drinking and driving, pill popping and random disappearances. ... "

Lindsay Lohan is 26 years old, born in 1986. We are curious when she will sing happy birthday to Prince William.

Inside Outside

Police: School bus dispatcher was bank robbery getaway driver | www.wftv.com:
Reynolds-Bell has worked for Orange County public schools for nearly 24 years. Now, the alleged bank robber is suspended with pay, which means she gets $17.20 per hour.
Police said Reynolds-Bell, a longtime school bus dispatcher, was also a getaway driver for her husband.
"I'm not guilty. And that's all I have to say, according to my lawyer," said Reynolds-Bell. (wftv.com.9. ORLANDO, Fla. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 HERE) ... "
Some questions come to mind. How is it that this bus dispatcher is not guilty of helping to rob a bank? If you drop off a bank robber, and then pick them up as they leave the bank with stolen property, isn't that traditionally part of this type drama?

For sure, it seems very unlikely that a story like this could actually happen in the 21st century ... haven't the robbers seen any bank robbery movies, TV shows, or more recently, TARP?

Mash me up and pile on, I am speechless. Maybe I need to re-read, and find more detail. Did this couple wake up one day and just decide to go out and "rob a bank?" Or did it happen as the suspect getaway driver says, "she is not guilty." She claims she did not find out about her husband's robbing the bank until much later.

When Van Gogh, the Dutch painter, cut off his ear and gave it to his girlfriend, and then did a self-portrait of his bandaged head ... his act had a certain build up. Over time Van Gogh became mentally disturbed enough to play out the deed of self-mutilation.

Don't the robbers realize their troubles are self-inflicted?

But what build up led this couple to rob a bank, and fail so deservedly at it? There is mention by some neighbors that the couple had been arguing over money. Nonetheless, they have certainly given the grand old profession of bank robbery a real bad name. They are a stain on a much revered literary plot, robbing the bank.

Stick 'em up!
" ... Police say that Sharon Reynolds-Bell, who has worked for the Orange County School District for nearly 24 years, was behind the wheel of the car that aided her husband, Johnny Bell, in robbing a TD Bank branch in Titusville, according to Orlando TV station WFTV. (HERE) ... "

The GATTACA Way: "March Mad-Scientist-ness"

PHOTO: Ask Brian Jones --
"Hey, Mr Jones, would I make a good Gigolo?"

"Uhhhh, I dunno -- let me check your jeans."

Chicago (IL) - Researchers are beginning to identify the genes which makeup a person's physical traits, including facial structure, skin tone, hair and eye color and more. The technology could be employed in the future in a Gattaca-like way, allowing a genetic approximation of your true appearance merely from a DNA sample. (HERE)
With one eye on his dream of working in outer space, a genetically flawed "In-Valid" (Ethan Hawke) hires a DNA broker (Tony Shalhoub) to help him obtain more desirable genetic material from a paralyzed man (Jude Law). In the process, he meets and falls in love with a beautiful "Valid" (Uma Thurman) with a heart defect. Screenwriter Andrew Niccol also directs this futuristic thriller, which marks his debut in the feature-length realm. GATTACA/ 1997
(TG Daily: Retrieved HERE) An article appearing on the Wall Street Journal today suggests this technology could be used by police to create a physical description of a criminal when only a DNA trace is left behind. However, I believe this story has far broader implications.

Scientists discovering more about genetic cues and a person's physical traits
General Sciences
, | By Rick C. Hodgin | Friday, March 27, 2009

In the movie Gattaca, DNA was used to classify individuals into their capabilities and limitations before birth. It was already known, based on their DNA profile alone, how much potential a given individual had.

A weak heart, for example, might limit their abilities to be strong laborers. A shorter individual might not do so well in sports, etc. All of these cues were taken by genetic markers -- and in the movie the entire society had been adapted into this way of thinking. They even had a term for people who stepped outside of their genetic profile illegally -- they were called broken ladders.

The technology is still very primitive compared to that movie. In 2004, police used a crime-scene DNA sample to correctly identify a black man who had been described by eye-witnesses as white. In England, forensic services has a similar "ethnic inference" test for murders and rapists. [MooPig would like to add here: "...and Ellen DeGeneres."]
Are we the sum of our genetic code? Or is there something more?

My fear is that when science identifies the genes which mark an individual's traits to a sufficient degree, the answer to that question will no longer matter as scientists and politicians will be unable to stop themselves from categorizing people based on their genetic markers alone -- rather than accomplishments or worldly influences or circumstances which might encourage them in alternate directions.
