Causality and Making a Difference: the principle that everything has a cause.
Mixed Martial Articles by Pat Darnell  |  Mar 28, 2016  |  Bryan TX

In a God forsaken media wasteland, real news is lost to the masses. When despots are sought for their image as if that is some kind of thing I want to see, I cry too. That particular image is a demon, pornographic and desperate.

As little people, we who exercise our freedom to not listen, to not react, to not be phased -- agency, force, and skewed quality of imbeciles pandering to masters who practice hegemony dominates our airwaves. Blimey!

Do we, the free, sit by or do we muster to bring about, make happen, accomplish something different in our head spaces? I think we can if we just concentrate on other stuff. No sweat.
“The main problem in any democracy is that crowd-pleasers are generally brainless swine who can go out on a stage and whup their supporters into an orgiastic frenzy—then go back to the office and sell every one of the poor bastards down the tube for a nickel apiece.” ― Hunter S. Thompson
Get out your divining rod and tell me how you would react to an ailing friend?

K-- I was wide awake until 3 a.m. last night. My mind gets SO noisy at night sometimes and I am way too conscious of time. Seems to go in slow motion. I have very important doctor's appts at the end of the week and all I'm trying to do is hold on. It's exhausting you guys. I'm trying SO HARD to be strong for fiancé so he doesn't see how hard this is for me. It's so fuckin exhausting. I just think he's seen me bawling my eyes out enough. He had to see me grieve my Mother's suicide in 2011 and after she died I SO wanted to join her for a while. Geez, now I'm crying. But, instead I got myself off of the painkillers I had been addicted to for 18 years. He's seen enough. But you know, after going through all of that, I feel so weak & afraid of what's going on with me right now. I've never been more afraid in my life. Does anybody have any input please? I don't just live one day at a time, I live one hour at a time, sometimes one minute at a time. How do you guys live with this?

Comments
S-- I am so sorry that your struggling to find peace of mind. When I have complete silence sometimes my mind and thoughts gets out of control and I try white noise. I also have to rationalize with my self ( self talk) continuously to stay positive and keep good thoughts in my mind.

K-- I've been struggling to find peace of mind for over a year. When I'm alone, like now, and at night when my fiancé goes to bed are the worst. I have insomnia so I keep weird hours. This last two weeks have been exceptionally hard. Do you know what I keep trying to tell myself? Most people would've ended up in the psych ward permanently if they had to deal with what we have to deal with every day. Sometimes that thought helps. My fiancé tells me I'm strong and amazing and I don't know how to believe that.

K --Geez-I just can't count on anybody in my personal life. I'm sitting here bawling by myself and nobody in my life gives a shit. The saddest thing I've ever been told was don't count on anyone for anything & then you won't be disappointed. I'll just wait for my meds to kick in & then maybe I won't give a shit anymore either. So, basically everyone in my life can just suck it!

Comments
K-- Sorry to sound so whiny, y'all. I was raised to never ever show weakness. So I'm still finding it difficult to just let go of everything I'm thinking and feeling, you know? I keep waiting for one of my relatives (deceased now) to show up and kick my ass!

Patrick Darnell -- K, when it gets like this, as you report, I have found some interesting things to do. One close friend suggested I take off my socks and walk barefooted outside in the lawn... Another friend suggested hot water with squeezed lemon and a teaspoon of honey, sipped without electronics or TV on... Another said read a real book, with pages to turn, for about thirty minutes a day... And my favorite, start with your spleen telling it how wonderful it has been, tell your gall bladder the same, gut, lungs, legs, feet, and so on ... Then praise your brain... Finally, listen to music harmonies that make you tingle. And I will do all things too.

K-- I'm listening to music right now to try and get thru this Patrick Darnell, music and books have ALWAYS been my bestest friends in the world. I'm having a hard time concentrating on books, my favorite shows, so this is what I'm doing for now. Listening to music and doing a little bitching on here! lol Thanx a lot for the input. I keep wanting to say to all of you thanx for not making me feel crazy, which is ironically funny cuz that's why I'm here. I'm just not used to sharing my feelings this much. But apparently I need to.

Patrick Darnell -- Wonderful to hear you love books... I wanted to also mention at my age I have met all my demons, and have found that they are all pussies. Just sayin'. When it roars, I know too well, it is hard to do anything, so just stand up and defy it.

K-- On a more positive note, I've received more positive input from people who've never met me, never looked into my eyes in one day, yesterday, than I received phone calls all last year. What I mean is, you guys are a godsend. Thanx for letting me vent. The demon thing I wrote earlier, that's my way of trying to cope. I've been writing for 25 years. Last year I wrote my first piece of fiction, a very, very short story about a girl and her Mom. It was my way of saying goodbye to my Mom. Maybe I'll share it later if anyone is interested. It made several people cry, including my doctor! Lol Known him for 10 years. I'm very lucky I have a great doctor. I really am trying to get myself in a better mood!

CONCUSSION :: "Frequently Asked Questions » CTE Center | Boston University..."

CTE is not limited to professional athletes; it has also been found in athletes who did not play sports after high school or college.

Frequently Asked Questions » CTE Center | Boston University: "What’s the difference between CTE and Alzheimer’s disease (AD)?

Although there are some similarities between CTE and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), significant differences exist. The symptoms of CTE generally present earlier (in one’s 40s) than those of AD (in one’s 60s). The initial and most central symptoms in AD involve memory problems, while the first symptoms of CTE generally involve problems with judgment, reasoning, problem solving, impulse control, and aggression. In addition, these diseases are found to be different in postmortem neuropathological findings."

Bipolar Disorder: Tracking Triggers
Mixed Martial Articles by Pat Darnell  |  Mar 21, 2016  |  Bryan TX

Life events, anxiety, and even physical changes can cause a mood swing. What triggers an episode of mania or depression varies from person to person. Here are some typical physical triggers, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

  • Not getting enough sleep
  • Using alcohol or drugs
  • Stopping your medicine
  • Beginning antidepressant medication (this can cause a switch to mania)
  • Hypothyroidism (low thyroid function, a possible side effect of lithium medication, often used to treat bipolar illness)

Emotional stress and big or small life changes can also cause mania or depression. The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance gives these examples:

  • Major life change like moving or starting a new job
  • Arguing with a friend or loved one
  • Financial problems

Louisa Sylvia, PhD, a psychologist at the Bipolar Clinic and Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston says, “Changes in daily routines, such as staying up late studying or flying to another time zone, can cause a mood swing.”

It's a Good Thing, or No
Mashed Martial Articles by Pat Darnell   |  Dec 3, 2015  |  Bryan TX

One time I asked friends to comment on some free verse that I had written. One of them said, "It's a good thing he never did drugs."

For reals, he may have said a summary of my life in the Hypomania ... "his difficulties preclude him from leading a normal life" ... the sign of a good friend who can tell me to my face what is happening. I have held that comment near to my heart for all this time. In other words, at least one person got me.

That is why I am attracted to this article:

21 things you only know if you’re bipolar | Health Care Plans: "3. It doesn’t mean you’re up and down all the time Everyone’s different – you can have rapid cycling (where you quickly go from high to low), mixed state (when you have symptoms of depression and mania at the same time), or go gradually up and down with periods of ‘normality’ in between. 4. You may be mildly amused by people who take drugs recreationally There’s something rather tame about pill-popping in a field of muddy campers on a Bank Holiday weekend when you’re walking around with what feels like a permanent pharmacy dispensing random chemicals in a Russian roulette style in your head."

CONCLUSION
Carry on.

Talk About, Talk About, Talk About ...
Mashed Martial Articles by Pat Darnell  |  Dec 3, 2015  |  Bryan TX

What scares a parent more than anything? I think it scares parents when their child doesn't fit in with normals, or their child might stand out in odd ways. Consider Vincent Van Gogh's parents for a moment:  they probably grew old never knowing why their son could not fit in.

Where do I find all these bipolar articles? I find them on faceBook.

Three Bipolar Disorder Symptoms No One Wants to Talk About | Cure Connect: "I work with parents and partners of those with bipolar disorder. In the majority of situations, people who are in a strong dysphoric manic episode can be dangerous, aggressive and violent. Physical assault and weapons are not uncommon. Many men go to jail because of this behavior when they actually need psychiatric help. People, both men and women who are mild mannered and kind when well, get super human strength along with the aggression- ripping a sink out of the wall- punching through windows- throwing chairs and other dangerous behavior are not uncommon."

CONCLUSION
There was a time in the not so far off past when people were not labeled. With the advent of the human DNA mapped, and constant crush of Healthcare and Pharma, and lists to be made, we have labels now for every phase of existence. And we say, "Isn't that all silly."

MooPig Brain Industry Department :: "Schizophrenia, Drugs, and your iPAD ..."

How Can iPAD Help with Brain Disorder...?
Mixed Martial Articles by Pat Darnell  |  Aug 5, 2015  |  Bryan TX
[Picture LINK]

Re-directed article fully quoted as follows:
"... A “brain training” game improves the cognitive function of people with schizophrenia and facilitates everyday tasks, according to researchers at the University of Cambridge.
Wizard, which will now be available on iOS (Apple’s operating system) as part of the Peak app, was tested for four weeks by 22 participants with a schizophrenia diagnosis.
"... Schizophrenia is a long-term mental health condition which can contribute to behavioural changes, confused thinking, apathy and, in some cases, delusions or hallucinations.
People with schizophrenia may experience cognitive impairments, including poor episodic memory, which affects remembering things such as times and dates, and understanding context.
"... Wizard aims to improve the cognitive functionality and episodic memory of people with schizophrenia, with in-game tasks including users moving through rooms and identifying items in boxes and character locations.
"... Professor Barbara Sahakian, who developed the game alongside Tom Piercy at Cambridge, said: “We need a way of treating the cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, such as problems with episodic memory, but slow progress is being made towards developing a drug treatment. So this proof-of-concept study is important because it demonstrates that the memory game can help where drugs have so far failed.
"... “Because the game is interesting, even those patients with a general lack of motivation are spurred on to continue the training.”
"... Another member of the research team, Peter Jones, added that further studies with larger sample sizes would need to be carried out to confirm the current findings, but that: “in conjunction with medication and current psychological therapies, [Wizard] could help people with schizophrenia minimise the impact of their illness on everyday life.” (Hannah Jane Parkinson. Aug 3, 2015. HERE) ..."
Brain training app could help people with schizophrenia - Yahoo News Canada: "Importantly, the patients also said they enjoyed the game and were motivated to play it across the eight hours of cognitive training. The researchers said this was important, since lack of motivation is a common feature of schizophrenia.

CONCLUSION
We haven't tested this App. If a person is schizophrenic, he often doesn't know it. And this App probably will become the most referred App in the world, because everyone will see its importance as it applies to "someone else," such as a relative, a friend, or a friend of a friend. Lord help us.

In our humble opinion, if you are sensitive or actually have a condition that inhibits your everyday activity, you might be interested in how "technology" can help you in your journeys.

It so happens that we noticed a long time ago that the computer age was developed by an elite class of journeymen scientists and politicians. We saw very little being done to make, for instance, the QWERTY keyboard more suited to those who cannot type. Any individual might not be able to type because they have no fingers, or because they have no cognitive engine. It is obvious that little to nothing has been done to make the Internet accessible for seeing impaired people, or for hearing impaired, or for speech impaired... and so on.

The biggest draw on the Internet is "Ridiculousness" ... that's right. The act of turning every effort into a monstrous exhibition of chaotic cacophonous rancor ... either via youTube, Social Media, or pornography. This is the aspect of the Internet that turns off the "older generation." Until Generation Jones is no longer the majority, Internet will suffer in areas of control and legislation.

If just one half-wit today realizes how useless the Internet is for those who cannot merge on the highway of information, due to personal infirmity, something could be done.

MooPig Brain Industry :: "Brain Initiative"

We Wonder if Barry reads Our Stuff ...? or, Have Brain: Need Map!
By Pat Darnell  |  Oct 7, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Craniotomy Picture LINK]

MooPig Wisdom Enterprises does not toot its own horn -- except this one time. Back in April 2013 the White House led by Barry Obama announced the "Brain Initiative." And why we toot our own horn is because we thought of it first. In fact we were talking about brain industries a decade ago. Brain references began early in our MooPig Wisdom blog: here --Brainstorm: Smaller world, bigger market
JavaJoy, Inc. ..., By Patrick Darnell, Marketing Research Practices, ... and here -- Ever thought about letting professionals do your Marketing?  ...   GI, Going International  ... and ...  Generalists have a place in Tech... Everyone needs Pedagogy once in a while  ...  all "brain-storming" articles from online courses taken in 2006. Brain tickling such as:
" ... Editing, reducing, summarizing, looking for patterns, and applying statistical techniques to data will provide advanced knowledge of customer segments, and loyalty. ... "
We even wrote this poem in 2000:
Brain Industries
My brain is mysterious
it contains all that I am
a macro in a skull of bone
... mind you, mind me, my mind.

It says all the time
I am what I eat
Yet it eats everything
and I do ...
mind you, mind me, my mind.

Some might say
'You control the brain
then you control the heart...'
Not so ...
...

My brain is libido,
my heart is motion;

Think,

This brain sits
While the heart runs

... times factors in billions ...

Do you get it?
Patrick Darnell (10.2000)

And this free verse in 2010:
Visitors and Brain Industries
Elongated cranium
fashion from
Sirius B and A,
Potolo Ama,
and Dogons,
knew it --
"Star Knowledge"
nomenclature
told through oral culture.

Artisans -- split apart hybrids ...

Catalogers left to hash it out ...

Sirius B -- how far away is that?

Zuni -- 1200 BC
Egypt is at bat

Dogon Spacemen
visitors, Sky People
Keepers of Space

Cachinas:
Dance each year
in full head dress
in costumes to re-enact
coming of Space gods
and elongated cranius
That's a fact!

CONCLUSION
What we have learned over the past fifteen years is that understanding of our beautiful Brains' Industry is that it is in its infancy, and any body of knowledge about Brains is going to be out of date before it can be printed. Brain Initiative by Barry Obama pontificated on April 2, 2013, initializes work toward the goal of "mapping the activity of every neuron in the human brain, an initiative that has been projected to cost more than $300 million per year for ten years."

In a news conference on April 2, 2013, President Obama announced "that he would seek an initial expenditure of $100 million for fiscal year 2014." In a January 2013 meeting, a group of neuroscientists concluded that "the project would generate about 300 exabytes of data every year, presenting a significant technical barrier."

Furthermore, the usefulness of most of the currently available high-resolution brain activity monitors is limited because they are highly invasive, being implanted by a process that involves surgically opening the skull.

MooPig Wisdom and all its Enterprises are tickled pink to be an axle hub on the wagon of this pioneering event -- the sorting out of Brain Industries as to be discovered by the Brain Initiative 2013. Open your minds; open your skulls. Have Brain -- Will Travel.

SUMMARY
Eight years of work, thousands of researchers around the world, $1 billion spent — and finally it was done. On April 14, 2003, a decade ago this week, scientists announced that they had completed the Human Genome Project, compiling a list of the three billion letters of genetic code that make up what they considered to be a sort of every person’s DNA.

And, now, it's the Brain's turn!!

[Picture LINK] CAPTION: "My name is Dana. In April of 2012, I was diagnosed with...unfortunate brain news. This is where you can read and watch my story unfold. I had a bean-sized mass / tumor / house boat living in my brain that I was on a quest to destroy. After one crazy craniotomy in July of 2012, we discovered it was a low-grade neuronal neoplasm--a rare but FORTUNATE form of growth. I will still have to get quarterly bi-monthly MRI's to monitor the remaining bits of the tumor, but I'm cool with this as long as I get a cupcake afterwards. My tumor's name is Brain Worm, Clampy, James, or Neutron Dance. I also talk in a strange language like one of the Navi." [unfortunatebrainnews@gmail.com

The Beauty in Knowing

Denial is a gauze; willful denial, an opiate.
Essay by Pat Darnell  |  July 11, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

Hidden under its hood is a predator; not human or animal but a rapacious, and exploitative, condition. Living with this condition proves to be venturesome, often perilous. Experts tell us that the condition is passed on by hereditary processes. If you see it in your family, chances are that it is with you as well.

Bipolar disorder has a way of staying close to home. It is a mental condition that escapes detection by the uninitiated. Symptoms often resemble exuberance during the manic stages of bipolar episodes, and resemble seasonal blues on the depression side of the disorder. Thus the reason for the "bi" in bipolar, two opposite conditions vie for your attention.

Racing thoughts, tendency to over-indulge, decreased need for sleep, increased drive to perform or achieve goals, and risky behavior, may seem like a list of qualities of highly successful people. Yet these too are basic symptoms of hypomania.

Sadness, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts and behavior, anxiety, guilt and fatigue, with loss of interest in activities once considered enjoyable are symptoms that announce the depressive phase of one being bipolar. Haunting, yes, -- unknowable, no.

At some point in the life of bipolar persons there is a great questioning: "Why aren't I progressing like others?" and "Something must be wrong with me." Situations like finding and keeping a relationship, or, becoming obsessed with another person's life until you smother the person, can lead to this great moment of self-questioning. If the bipolar person seeks help at this point, he might be diagnosed with straight up schizophrenia, or borderline personality disorder, or one of three bipolar conditions, showing the great range of this condition. Most of the time one is asked what drugs she takes, what kind of self-med's are you taking. Such misdiagnoses can lead to more confusion.

One person describes her realization phase this way:
" ... My illness was insidious, gradual and inexorable. I had a preview of depression in high school, ... The hormonal chaos of having three children in five years, the pressure of working on a Ph.D. dissertation and a genetic predisposition for a mood disorder took me to a place of darkness I hadn't experienced before. Of course, I didn't recognize that right away. Denial is a gauze; willful denial, an opiate. Everyone seemed in league with my delusion. I was just overwhelmed, my family would say. I should get more help with the kids, put off my Ph.D. (LINDA LOGAN. Published: April 26, 2013. LINK ) ... "
Your friends and lovers who adore you because you are unique, are going to go along with your mood swings. They will protest when you say you want to kill yourself. Most will recognize and love your balls to the wall attitude about life during manic phases, but the same will fail to recognize the times you are alone, curled up with racing thoughts, and unable to move in your depressed phases.

Bipolar people who harness their energy when they are in a hypomanic phase can be really productive. But, the most dangerous attitude is denial: denying that you actually have a severe reaction to life situations, not recognizing your ups and downs, is very often fatal.

Long term denial can lead to destruction. Family members who have not recognized bipolar conditions in themselves can actually destroy one another. Each family member thinks from his own point of view and holds tight to his belief that he is right, and the others are thinking wrong. With no real give and take communication the family is torn apart.

Bipolar "unrecognized," and untreated, and denied is the worse case condition. Bipolar "recognized" allows the sufferer to begin channeling all that energy, because "Bipolar is Energy." Imagine the things you could accomplish if you channeled all the bipolar energy into finishing all your projects! There is beauty in knowing.

MooPig Brain Industries :: "Parody Contention and Cookies"

Could it be True?
Gathered by Pat Darnell  |  Mar 29, 2013  |  Bryan TX

... characteristics rewarded in our society, unfortunately.

Jon Ronson: WATCH: The Story Of A Man Who Faked Insanity: "My talk is based on my book, The Psychopath Test. It's in part about a man called Tony. He swears he faked madness to escape a prison sentence for GBH (grievous bodily harm) and is now stuck in a secure hospital because nobody will believe he's sane. It was the Scientologists -- brutally opposed to psychiatry -- who introduced me to Tony. It's also about the compelling theory that you are four times more likely to have a psychopath running your business than you are to have one as your underling."

'via Blog this'
" ... Bob seemed melancholy. It was as if the crash had made him introspective. He said, almost to himself, "I should never have done all my research in prisons. I should have spent my time inside the Stock Exchange as well."

I looked at Bob.

"Do you mean that?" I asked.

"I mean it," he said.

"But surely stock market psychopaths can't be as bad as serial killer psychopaths," I said.

"Serial killers ruin families," shrugged Bob. "Corporate and political and religious psychopaths ruin economies. They ruin societies."

This - Bob was saying - was the straightforward solution to the greatest mystery of all: why is the world so unfair? Why all that savage economic injustice, those brutal wars, the everyday corporate cruelty? The answer: psychopaths. That part of the brain that doesn't function right. You're standing on an escalator and you watch the people going past on the opposite escalator. If you could climb inside their brains you would see we aren't all the same. We aren't all good people just trying to do good. Some of us are psychopaths. And psychopaths are to blame for this brutal, misshapen society. They're the jagged rocks thrown into the still pond. Madoff's Rolodex: Ponzi Primer from AIPAC

To Be Semite, or or not to be... is Goyim, or, also Circumcised Arab, is still a Gentile... and the Madoff Defense Fund

Gentile = goyim:
heathen, infidel, non-Jew, pagan
Gentile, a moniker placed by a Semite noting the character of one who is other than a Jew.

Jew -- Gentile
A Jew, being Semitic is not un-Semitic -- a gentile.
Being un-Semitic (a heathen) is not what God's chosen people condone, else they wouldn't be called Gentiles. Semitic Peoples have a hard time with themselves, reference the treatment of other Semitic peoples in Palestine who are deemed pagans (heathens) -- yet they are circumcised and Semitic. Without the proper runes and coda the Semitic Circumcised Arab is still a gentile. Given the Semitic rules, what chance does the un-Semitic uncircumcised human (infidel) have?
Anti-Semitism was created by God as yet another punishment for being chosen, chosen not to be a gentile.
Gentility is not all that was promised in God's Country. To be born in God's image (a bipolar goofball) does have some drawbacks.

Gentile –– Goyim, a non-jew does not call himself a gentile (infidel). The Jew by calling (naming) a person, pagan (Goy) creates the environment for Gentiles to take umbrage. And so it goes, the sequesterment of humans into select orders only makes for lurid melodrama –– Isms make Schisms, Isms create Schisms. . .
