Take a nano-second out of your busy day and contemplate Tall Buildings around the world. What, and who do they house? We sure don't know who leases all that high floor space. What we do know is that tallest skyscrapers are almost always structures that define a place. That is they are what puts many places on the maps.

Sears Tower, a skyscraper in Chicago that was the tallest building in the world until the construction of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, put Chicago on the map for many years. Yes, that is Sears and Roebuck Company, but is now called Willis Tower, because "... London-based insurance broker Willis Group Holdings got a steal at $1 million per year [starting March 2009] for the naming rights as long as it leases at least 103,716 square feet in the building. Their lease is up in 2025. ( Melissa Harris, Chicago Tribune. March 4, 2015. LINK)..."

In the United States, "... Completed in 1973 as the Sears Tower, the 110-story building was the world's tallest for 23 years. It lost its designation of tallest in the U.S. after the Chicago-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat ruled in 2013 that New York's One World Trade Center is taller.(ibid. Harris) ..."

Which brings us to the article we found about a very tall building to be built in China ... Changsha Tower ... building whose construction has been halted now for two years: "...The proposed Sky City tower was set to become the world's tallest building, but its construction was postponed just days after it started in 2013, amid safety fears and a lack of necessary government approval.(de zeen magazine, 20 July 2015. LINK) ..."

This modern hypodermic needle designed tower at 838 meters high, was to be built using modular components -- after pouring its foundation -- in only 90 days. YIKES! CONCLUSION
Land use has been the story of mankind. Bluntly, land grabs are the common denominator in humankind's history. How a hectare of land is "purposed" depends on the meeting of imaginations of humans who over come the imaginations of others who oppose with their own purposes. Once there is a meeting of minds, towers will be built. The mega-universal-corporation in the US that leases the majority of space in tall buildings usually gets to name that tall building.

But this is not about dinner, it is about “The era of debt-based economy, which is dependent upon the creation of debt, which is leveraged with still more debt will draw to an end. The free-fall will come to a sudden stop and the hard reset of the respective values of all commodities and currencies will occur. The banks are already preparing for the paradigm shift.”

As time went by another writer discovered the devaluation of the Iraqi Dinar was planned by the Secretary of the Treasury and Vice President and had nothing to do with the invasion of Iraq. This time, John Pasden of Sinosplice is our kindly intermediary. A few days ago he posted links to two humorous maps making rounds as jokes among Chinese netizens: China as seen by Beijingers and China as seen by Shanghainese. The concept is really quite simple: take a map of China, divide it into regional categories, then write in what a Beijinger or Shanghainese generally thinks of that area – so a Beijinger calls Beijing “Grandpa’s Home,” simple enough, but then we find out that Beijingers think prostitutes come from Manchuria, that Yunnan is a place of drug peddlers, and that the south coast is all about making money – oh, and hilariously, Taiwan – “Bitch at grandpa from not going here back then.” Obviously, it’s meant to be that type of rowdy, in-your-face, non-PC type of humor. @how does she sleep: she can leave it open or plait it and let it hang over the side of the bed or push it between her pillow and the bedstead. I know because I'm 5 ft 5 inches and my hair is below my knees. And her hair is not 6 ft 7 inches since its basically the same height as she is. And thoroughly washing hair of this length takes five minutes under a decent shower. If she uses a bucket and treats her hair as if its made of spun sugar then yes, it will take her an hour! Drying hair of this length though does take 24 hours, she's right about that...

China cracks down on 'Doomsday cult' - CNN.com: "(CNN) -- Members of a fringe Christian group in China have been rounded up for spreading rumors of an impending apocalypse, pegged to the Mayan calendar. China currently faces internal strife, a growing disparity between the rich and poor, overbuilding, environmental crises, inflation, a collapsed stock market, bad milk, and a dramatic decrease in the amount of time citizens can spend in Macau, all of which clearly fall under the category of things that are "not awesome."

Things are so bad in China that its gross domestic product growth rate may fall from double digits to the dowdy level of 8%. Eight percent, by the way, is a level at which the United States is unlikely to ever grow again. It can't. Our economy is simply fully developed. Thus the sobriquet "developed economy." I know, not exactly catchy.

China, on the other hand, has returned to world prominence through a 30-year economic boom whose speed and breadth is unparalleled in the history of mankind. China went from global economic irrelevance in 1980 to the country to which the United States is most vulnerable during this economic crisis, for the small reason that China holds $580 billion in U.S. Treasuries.
