Cen Yingyuan: 'I'm addicted to my hair', says Chinese woman who hasn't trimmed her 6ft 7in hair in 11 YEARS | Mail Online: "She is unable to wash it in a shower or bath due to its extreme length and is forced to bend over a bucket. Cen washes her hair every four days and her secret to keeping it shiny is to use a bottle of beer. And Cen is not alone in being obsessed with growing her hair. The Red Yao women, a minority ethnic group from Huangluo Yao Village in China, have an average hair length of 5.5 feet with the longest locks measure more than 6.8 feet. Incredibly, the women cut their hair only once in their lives, at 16 years old, before they start their search for a husband, as they believe a woman long hair brings longevity, wealth and good fortune."

The trick to keeping such a vast amount of hair shiny, according to Cen, is to rinse it with a bottle of beer
Proud: Cen Yingyuan shows off her 6ft 7in long hair, the result of 11 years without having it cut
COMMENTS
[F]or the people commenting saying the cannot grow their hair past a certain length....this is called your terminal length. your genes determine terminal length and no matter what you do or how long you wait, your hair will never grow beyond this length. i struggle to grow mine just a few inches below my shoulders.
- Jen , Southampton, 01/3/2013
@how does she sleep: she can leave it open or plait it and let it hang over the side of the bed or push it between her pillow and the bedstead. I know because I'm 5 ft 5 inches and my hair is below my knees. And her hair is not 6 ft 7 inches since its basically the same height as she is. And thoroughly washing hair of this length takes five minutes under a decent shower. If she uses a bucket and treats her hair as if its made of spun sugar then yes, it will take her an hour! Drying hair of this length though does take 24 hours, she's right about that...
- ashlis , Asia, 01/3/2013
I'll never moan about having to wash mine ever again.

" ... Unfortunately for all those still clinging to shreds of their tattered right-wing bubble, Republican states overwhelmingly take in more federal dollars than they pay in federal income tax, while Democratic states are net givers. Democratic states are the ones giving gifts, in the form of our tax dollars, to the poor Republican states. Fox rhetoric doesn’t fit the facts.
" ... None of these Republican pundits are willing to admit that they lost the election because their candidate and his message rubbed most voters the wrong way. Most Americans could not stomach rich Mitt and his plutocratic, rule-by-wealth economic policies. We witnessed an epic, good-versus-evil battle for our electoral souls in this past election with the Democratic thesis, “We are all in this together,” clashing mightily with the Republican antithesis, “Every man for himself.” ( Mike Kirchubel. From page A8 | November 26, 2012. | Thursday, January 17, 2013. HERE ) ... "[Picture LINK]

Layoffs at Proctor and Gamble 2012 ?
Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Jan 22, 2012 | Bryan TX
Rumor has it that the Proctor and Gamble is laying off from 2,000 to 20,000 workers. Chilling to consider; what is the fallout? We shall see as it develops. Here below is a testament of one of the victims.

Layoffs 2012 are apparently catching workers off Guard
EXCERPT | [Testimony] " ... While a being a dedicated P and G Rm (as we were not supposed to work for other companies-or our competition) I know many P and G Rm's that also worked for other companies. Some received same pay, some would be in the stores doing P and G workorders and also 3rd party work-for P and G- and getting paid $2.00 more than what P and G Rm's got paid. And don't be surprised if you go to one of the companies suggested and you have an ex-P and G Rm for you supervisior.
P and G did not want to pay any benefits, that's why they kept us down to a certain yearly hours we could work. They had alot of work all these years, 3rd partied out P and G work because we had to stay under the yearly hours so they didn't have to pay benefits.
I am also a stockholder. The stockholder's they are concerned with are corporate not the little working people like the aveage Joe or their peon's, grunt workers, P and G little Rm's. The Rm's that have store and customer contact.
Corporate can sell to the stores, but it's the Rm's that get the product sold to the customer so the stores will order more P and G product. Otherwise as corporate sells product to stores and it sits on shelf and does not sell, stores will not order more of a product that does not sell.
How funny it is that we the grunt workers held P and G higher in standards than they show for their employees.
In all, I have met many good, hard working people and made many friendships.
I do not know what I will decided to do after all this is over with, as I have become acustom
to eating and paying bills. I will have to work at some point.
A House (including P and G Corporate House) is only as good as it's foundation (Rm's)
Once you start chipping away at the foundation, the house will start to fall.
Even though we are all shocked and surprised (which is a normal reaction after being slapped in the face) I wish all Rm's well and much, much success. (Today, 09:58 AM. by Anonymous. Re: Layoffs in 2012? LINK) ... "

Facebook Hacker Cup: Seeking a world champion hacker - Jan. 4, 2012: "Facebook prides itself on its hacker culture, and dangles coding puzzles on its recruiting page with the slogan: "Solve programming challenges. Get a phone interview." The company frequently holds marathon staff hackathons as part of its product-development process.
Facebook also likes to crowdsource its site hacking. In August, the social network launched a "bug bounty" security initiative, inviting security researchers to send details of any Facebook vulnerabilities they uncover. Facebook offers up a finder's fee of at least $500 to those who find security holes."

Where most fail to learn skills that would help them to be online, some are born to these skills. Algorithms seem to fly in our faces on faceBook, but not for these gifted few.
- Contestants by country included:
- 7 hackers from Poland,
- 6 from Russia,
- 4 from the U.S.,
- 2 from Japan, and
- One each from China, Germany, The Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland and Ukraine.
- The vast majority of the hackers were running Windows with Cygwin, a suite of tools that give Linux feel and functionality to a Windows OS.
- Exactly zero hackers were using Macs.
- Although several women made it into the later rounds, the final 25 hackers were all men.
- Most of the hackers were in their mid-twenties and have been writing software for years.

MooPig's Report from the Mid-West :: "Illinois Tollway says glitch caused havoc"
Don't Mess with Chicago Tollways, they are a Money Pit
Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Dec 10, 2011 | Bryan TX

Illinois Tollway says glitch caused havoc with I-PASS users' accounts - chicagotribune.com:
" ... Tollway spokeswoman Wendy Abrams said the problem was traced to software used by its toll collection contractor, Electronic Transaction Consultants Corp., of Richardson, Texas."
Former tollway board member Bill Morris had advocated for a new system sooner. Morris said Friday that the latest flub comes at an especially bad time — just as basic I-PASS tolls are about to rise 87.5 percent Jan. 1.
[Tollway spokeswoman Wendy Abrams] ... Abrams said the glitch won't hasten the agency's plans to replace the complex license-plate-reading and collection system. The agency plans to install a new system by 2014.

The Shocking, Graphic Data That Shows Exactly What Motivates the Occupy Movement | Occupy Wall Street | AlterNet:
"At the very least, we expected that the elite financiers would pay for the damage they created – the jobs destroyed, the neighborhoods wrecked, the services cut. It didn’t happen. "
Les Leopold is the executive director of the Labor Institute and Public Health Institute in New York, and author of The Looting of America: How Wall Street's Game of Fantasy Finance Destroyed Our Jobs, Pensions, and Prosperity—and What We Can Do About It (Chelsea Green, 2009).And let us take heart from the words of Franklin Roosevelt who during his first inaugural address in 1933, led the first occupation of Wall Street: " ...Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men. True, they have tried, but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit, they have proposed only the lending of more money. ... "
- Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored conditions. They know only the rules of a generation of self-seekers.
- They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish.
- The money changers have fled their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths.
- The measure of the restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit.
- Happiness lies not in the mere possession of money, it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.
- The joy and moral stimulation of work no longer must be forgotten in the mad chase of evanescent profits. These dark days will be worth all they cost us if they teach us that our true destiny is not to be ministered unto but to minister to ourselves and to our fellow-men.
- Recognition of the falsity of material wealth as the standard of success goes hand in hand with the abandonment of the false belief that public office and high political position are to be values only by the standards of pride of place and personal profit, and there must be an end to a conduct in banking and in business which too often has given to a sacred trust the likeness of callous and selfish wrongdoing.
