[Picture LINK] In a post-Google TV era, Hisense takes a first stab at defining Android on TV

Before the turn of the century, some folks predicted that Television as it is would be totally gone by 2045. We may be on schedule for that. Television is still a huge conglomerate with the most subscribers of any media system. It is to me, an enigma, that is, a puzzle that keeps changing its outcome.

When Google started Google TV, it was ahead of its time. That is kind of typical of Google and its offerings. After three years Google TV is just really getting started:

Google TV’s operating system, a customized version of Android, provides the underlying foundation, allowing developers to create applications that extend the system’s functionality. Google’s Chrome browser provides a gateway to the Internet, allowing consumers to browse web sites and watch television, in tandem.

Google TV Is Dead, Long Live Google-Powered TV | Will Greenwald | PCMag.com: "These days, Google TV is all but forgotten, and surprisingly that signals not that Android is leaving home entertainment, but that it's finally starting to show up. HDTV manufacturers are turning to Android for their connected HDTV interfaces. I saw four different companies at CES 2014 with their own spins on Android to power their home entertainment devices. But the customization nature of Android is a boon for HDTV manufacturers looking to move into the budget and midrange HDTV market as the more prominent names set their sights on big, expensive, advanced screens. As companies looking to get a foothold in the North American market explore ways to make their less expensive screens more feature-rich, we could finally see Android become a big force in home entertainment. It just won't be Google designing or tweaking it.

CONCLUSION
Google TV did not make much of a splash when it was introduced, but now it is on track as a suitable base for many companies who want to expand on the television experience. If you own an iPhone or an Android, you are already compatible with Google TV. You might want to look into the possibilities of linking up to streaming TV and other services.

I have a friend on faceBook who has been posting blurbs about movement of Uranium ore around the world. It seems the mining and handling of Uranium is a clusterfrak, like everything else in the world of technology, industry, banking, living, etcetera ... etcetera ... etcetera. The uranium supply chain is prone to misdirection or black-market-like foiles, and used as a political football, or is it ... no one really knows. But from her blurbs I gather that the primary motivator in mining uranium and other heavies is "Money, Profit, and Corporations' Financial Health."

It turns out the mining, processing, refining, enrichment of uranium and other heavy metals continues despite the end of the Cold War. Yes, MooPig Uranium Enrichment Department is a musky closet with spider webs and the smell of Grandpa.

Very little is ever discussed about uranium and rare earth metals. If you search faceBook for "uranium" you get a page about a social club. We have missiles in rural areas throughout the USA, and many more that are in unknown locations. The entire Titan II missile and its underground silo is a toxic chemical nightmare.

Special thanks to rebellious Mother Jones Magazine for posting a review on Eric Schlosser's new book, Command and Control. Schlosser tells of danger lurking in American landscapes that could match the Japanese Earthquake-Tsunami-Nuclear Disaster at Fukushima. If one of these "dormant" Titan II nuclear missiles was caught in an earthquake, it would blow up in dozens of ways, for dozens of reasons.

CONCLUSION
Friendly fire and collateral damages will be understatement if one of our own nuclear warhead missiles does detonate on American soil. Our US Government, and all its affiliate corporations working for it, has misinformed the American public about the threat of this happening.

1860's Muzzle-loaders vs the Henry Rifle

The Henry is a very unique rifle and a rare one. Only a little over 14,000 were produced. For a Civil War soldier, owning a Henry rifle was a point of pride. Although it was never officially adopted for service by the Union Army, many soldiers purchased Henrys with their own funds.

The brass framed rifles could fire at a rate of 28 rounds per minute when used correctly, so soldiers who saved their pay to buy one often believed it would help them survive. They were frequently used by scouts, skirmishers, flank guards, and raiding parties, rather than in regular infantry formations.

To the amazed muzzleloader-armed Confederates who had to face this deadly "sixteen shooter", it was called "that damned Yankee rifle that they load on Sunday and shoot all week!"[wiki]

Very few captured Henry rifles were used by Confederate troops. Since those few Confederate troops who came into possession of one of these rifles had little way to resupply the special ammunition used by the weapon, its widespread use by Confederate forces was very impractical.

The rifle was, however, known to have been used at least in part by some fifteen different Confederate units. These units included cavalry units in Louisiana, Texas, and Virginia, as well as the personal bodyguards of Confederate President Jefferson Davis.[1]

75 Space shuttle mission costs

The answer depends heavily on assumptions, some of which are:
- What costs are being spread over missions?
- What's the shuttle flight rate?
- Are figures adjusted for inflation (constant dollars) or not?
- Is the expense of periodically building replacement orbiters (such
as Endeavour) included?

People arguing over shuttle costs on the net are usually arguing from
different assumptions and do not describe their assumptions clearly,
making it impossible to reach agreement. To demonstrate the difficulty,
here are a range of flight cost figures differing by a factor of 35 and
some of the assumptions behind them (all use 1992 constant dollars).

$45 million - marginal cost of adding or removing one flight from
the manifest in a given year.

$414 million - NASA's average cost/flight, assuming planned flight
rates are met and using current fiscal year data only.

$1 billion - operational costs since 1983 spread over the actual
number of flights.

$900 million - $1.35 billion - total (including development) costs
since the inception of the shuttle program, assuming 4 or 8
flights/year and operations ending in 2005 or 2010.

$1.6 billion - total costs through 1992 spread over the actual
number of flights through 1992.
