MooPig Tech Coroner :: "Google TV Is Dead"
Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Jan 12, 2014 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK] In a post-Google TV era, Hisense takes a first stab at defining Android on TV
Before the turn of the century, some folks predicted that Television as it is would be totally gone by 2045. We may be on schedule for that. Television is still a huge conglomerate with the most subscribers of any media system. It is to me, an enigma, that is, a puzzle that keeps changing its outcome.
When Google started Google TV, it was ahead of its time. That is kind of typical of Google and its offerings. After three years Google TV is just really getting started:
" ... Google TV leverages many of Google’s existing products. Google TV’s operating system, a customized version of Android, provides the underlying foundation, allowing developers to create applications that extend the system’s functionality. Google’s Chrome browser provides a gateway to the Internet, allowing consumers to browse web sites and watch television, in tandem.
" ... Consumers can access HBO, CNBC, and content from other providers through the Chrome browser. Android and Apple smartphones and tablet computers may be used as remote controls for Google TV. Google TV products ship with wireless remote controls with a full QWERTY keypad. An update in November 2011, allowed access to Google Play and enabled search to find content from live TV, Netflix, YouTube, HBO GO, Amazon, and more. ... A future Google TV 4 update will have casting support from supported apps, the same as the Chromecast. (y ikki peed ya. LINK)..."Google TV Is Dead, Long Live Google-Powered TV | Will Greenwald | PCMag.com: "These days, Google TV is all but forgotten, and surprisingly that signals not that Android is leaving home entertainment, but that it's finally starting to show up. HDTV manufacturers are turning to Android for their connected HDTV interfaces. I saw four different companies at CES 2014 with their own spins on Android to power their home entertainment devices. (Will Greenwald. January 10, 2014. LINK) ..."
"But Google TV was plagued with a long list of problems, one of them being the strict requirements Google put in place for its hardware partners. For example, the first generation of Google TV needed to include a full traditional QWERTY keyboard, leading to unwieldy and confusing remote controls. (Janko Roettgers. JAN. 15, 2014. LINK)."
'via Blog this'
But the customization nature of Android is a boon for HDTV manufacturers looking to move into the budget and midrange HDTV market as the more prominent names set their sights on big, expensive, advanced screens. As companies looking to get a foothold in the North American market explore ways to make their less expensive screens more feature-rich, we could finally see Android become a big force in home entertainment. It just won't be Google designing or tweaking it.CONCLUSION
Google TV did not make much of a splash when it was introduced, but now it is on track as a suitable base for many companies who want to expand on the television experience. If you own an iPhone or an Android, you are already compatible with Google TV. You might want to look into the possibilities of linking up to streaming TV and other services.

MooPig Tech Coroner :: "The Disappearing Internet and Everything"
Retrieved by Pat Darnell and the Herd | Dec 14, 2013 | Bryan TX
How the Powerful Intelligence World Is on the Verge of the Ability to Make People Digitally Disappear | Alternet: "Am I suggesting the plot for a novel by some twenty-first century George Orwell? Hardly. As we edge toward a fully digital world, such things may soon be possible, not in science fiction but in our world—and at the push of a button. In fact, the earliest prototypes of a new kind of “disappearance” are already being tested. We are closer to a shocking, dystopian reality that might once have been the stuff of futuristic novels than we imagine. Welcome to the memory hole."
'via Blog this'
This is the beginning of the Class Warfare: Internet Style. Or is it? High and mighty rich, fortunate sons, self-worshipers do not want the masses telling them how things are going to be. And a totally free, vacuum, of internet terrorizes the entitled few who do not want to understand struggles and strife of their neighboring persons down here on earth. If the Internet organized against the money changing pharisees, and toppled some of their interests, higher ups cannot afford the legal fees, and long term battles, so they attempt to get rid of the Internet in quicker, unclear, sinister ways. Some singularity of higher-uppedness delegates its minions to get legislation passed, and departments founded that will control our Internet.
Our extant spy network, NSA, and its developers do not want the Internet user doing the same thing NSA does ... and this is not recent news, it has been going on for decades. You see, it turns out that Brazil plans to exit centralized USA led Internet:
" ... The NSA program, dubbed Bullrun, took 10 years to crack the web’s encryption technologies, before finally reaching a breakthrough in 2010 that made “vast amounts” of previously unreadable data accessible. Perhaps more worryingly, the NSA has an ongoing program to place backdoors in commercial products (websites, routers, encryption programs, etc.) to enable easy snooping on encrypted communications.MooPig Wisdom has learned by doing its thing on the free Internet. It has plied its talent and trade via the up-to-now free enterprise of the Internet. However, we now feel threatened by butchers of freedom as we enter our humble 8th year online. We suspect some entity will become our overseer, if not already in place.
The documents outline a three-pronged plan to ensure the NSA can access the bulk of the internet’s encrypted traffic: Influencing the development of new encryption standards to introduce weaknesses, using supercomputers to break encryption, and collaborating with ISPs and tech companies to gain backdoor access. (Winter on 18 Sep 2013. LINK. [source]) ..."
At present we have a place and destiny on the internet, that pretty much describes our patent work. But like everything on the Internet, MooPig Wisdom is mashed up with "numerous" other publications. It cannot be avoided. And MooPig Wisdom has been in the past hit by censors, and copyright bots. Portions of posts and pictures have been erased: it is par for the game. We expected from the start in 2006 some dalliance from higher powers. But scholars were on this over two decades ago.
" ... News: January 12, 1993 | Economist Jack Hopper returns with a discussion of another book by William Greider--"Who Will Tell the People?" We review how, during the Reagan-Bush years the drive of the rich and powerful to capture completely the organs of government, to lock out all meaningful public participation, and to bend all laws and the administration of them to their own interest have had a seriously detrimental on the people in general--impoverishing and disenfranchising them. This destruction of the social contract implied from the years of FDR is nothing less than class warfare by the American ruling class on the rest of us. (Producer: Frank Morrow. Copyright January, 1993. LINK) ..."CONCLUSION
Whatever pressures we as Internet users are feeling most assuredly comes from self-serving plutocrats.

MooPig Wisdom: Seven Years Long, Drawn Out, Evil Empire Drudgery of Whining, Threatening, and Squealing ...: PART TWO | ..."MooPig wants to know: "What is New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson doing in North Korea? and Bolivia? and hither and yon?"
Bill Richardson former U.S. Ambassador to United Nations, has been on a number of trips to North Korea in the past. He advocates for the release of Americans held by the Pyongyang government. During his trip in January, 2013, Gov Richardson, calls for North Koreans to give "fair and humane treatment" of American Kenneth Bae, who had been detained since November. Along with his advocacy for Bae, Richardson also pressed Pyongyang to halt missile launches and nuclear tests -- requests that will likely have no impact on the North's considerations.

MooPig's Google Watch:: "Things, not strings"
[Picture LINK]
Things, not strings: How Google’s new Hummingbird algorithm sets the stage for the future of mobile search | VentureBeat: "While Google has changed how it updates its search algorithm over the years, one thing has remained constant: a whole lot of ensuing backlash from search engine optimization (SEO) experts Hummingbird, Google’s latest update, is no exception. Officially launched last week, the new algorithm represents the biggest change to Google’s search functionality in 10 years — a fact that, perhaps understandably, has gotten more than a few SEO experts worked up. But Hummingbird is more than SEO — and it’s also more than just search. Here are a few takeaways."
'via Blog this'
To sum it up, it looks like this:
- Mobile is the future, so Google should be attuned to answering search queries in the most mobile-friendly way.
- People tend to be conversational with their mobile searches (“Where can I buy a new pair of underwear?”)
- Ergo, the future of Google search is mobile-focused and question-oriented.
CONCLUSION
Google has quietly retooled the closely guarded formula running its Internet search engine to give better answers to the increasingly complex questions posed by Web surfers.

Bilderberger’s Arrive in North Korea to Examine Economy and Social Media | Intellihub.com: "PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA — Google Chairman Eric Schmidt and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson both Bilderberg Group and Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) members have arrived in North Korea Monday on a commercial flight to initiate a series of talks with North Korean officials pertaining to the countries economy and social media."
'via Blog this'
Huh?
Look left in MooPig's sidebar ... that's former Governor Bill Richards. He gets around, that guy is everywhere but in New Mexico.
This story is in the NYTIMES, HERE. Bill Richardson with journalists on Monday after arriving in Pyongyang, North Korea. Mr. Richardson, who has visited the North several times, called his trip a private humanitarian mission.
"intellihub" must be trying to make this into a Bilderberger Hall of Fame event. Although, Americans traveling to North Korea seems far fetched. We now wonder how many others are going to North Korea, with little or no media coverage? Who can afford trips like this? And who is paying the tabs for a "private humanitarian mission." Like the Kissinger faux era of taking hot babes to parties, then sneaking out to fly around the world on secret diplomatic "whatevers" ... is Gov Bill in the same maneuver?
Gossip sites would like to know. And MooPig Gossip Mill Department would pay good intentions for information.

You know, folks, the new Pope was just elected about two hours ago. Here is a Wiki page already posted online. How smooth is that? Pope Francis: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Pretty darn smooth.

" ... Argentine Jorge Bergoglio has been elected pope, the first ever from the Americas and the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium. He chose the name Pope Francis. After announcing “Habemus Papum” “We have a pope!” a cardinal standing on the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica on Wednesday revealed the identity of the new pontiff, using his Latin name. Bergoglio had reportedly finished second in the 2005 conclave that produced Benedict XVI who last month became the first pope to resign in 600 years. The 76-year-old archbishop of Buenos Aires has spent nearly his entire career at home in Argentina, overseeing churches and shoe-leather priests. ... "[Picture LINK]

[Picture LINK]
What Google Zeitgeist 2012 Tells Us About Us | News and Opinion | PCMag.com: "Evidently, we really want to know about Whitney Houston, Gangnam Style, and Hurricane Sandy. The 2012 Top Google Searches were: Whitney Houston, Gangnam Style, Hurricane Sandy, iPad 3, Diablo 3, Kate Middleton, Olympics 2012, Amanda Todd, Michael Clarke Duncan, and BBB12."
Is that all there is? Nope.
'via Blog this'
We search the web for answers to our questions; what are our questions? Can they be translated to show our quests? ... Quests beyond just consumerism?
The 2012 Google mind map is too large but not unmanageable. It shows us the way to 1.2 trillion searches; 146 languages. That is roughly the capacity of one human brain; sure you cold learn 146 languages if you had to.
From Scientific American:
" ...The human brain consists of about one billion neurons. Each neuron forms about 1,000 connections to other neurons, amounting to more than a trillion connections. If each neuron could only help store a single memory, running out of space would be a problem. You might have only a few gigabytes of storage space, similar to the space in an iPod or a USB flash drive. Yet neurons combine so that each one helps with many memories at a time, exponentially increasing the brain’s memory storage capacity to something closer to around 2.5 petabytes (or a million gigabytes). For comparison, if your brain worked like a digital video recorder in a television, 2.5 petabytes would be enough to hold three million hours of TV shows. You would have to leave the TV running continuously for more than 300 years to use up all that storage. (Paul Reber, professor of psychology at Northwestern University. April 19, 2010. HERE) ... "A reader comments:
"... I'm sure this is just a mistake in editing; after all, even Neuroscience for Kids gets the number of neurons right: 100 billion neurons and a quadrillion synapses. Since your estimates here are magnitudes of order wrong, though, and if they were used for further calculations, doesn't that make the rest of your calculations in error as well? (ibid.) ..."It's not yet an exact science, neither brain industry nor Google zeitgeist. the author above, Reber, goes on to explain:
" ..."The human brain consists..." I should have gone with the commonly held estimate of ~100 billion. However, in terms of the numbers of neurons in the brain likely to participate in long-term memory of facts, events and episodes, 1 billion neurons is not a bad estimate. That might be surprising, but if you look into the details, e.g. a report trying to estimate the number of neurons, [Report LINK] (ibid.)... "The point being a year of Google activity is equivalent to one regular, everyday human brain. There are those who think once the "machine" surpasses the brain's capacity to think and adapt, it will become our ... lord - boss - teacher - owner - maestro ... or what ever supplants the human brain in capacity is called.
MooPig Brain Industries Department thinks that the day you see an aisle in the Walgreen's with the sign "Brain Products" posted, that will be the sign that machines have advanced to the realm of competitor.
Or, when your pet can play BorderLands as well as your teenager, that could be the sign that machines have "evolved."
So, regrettably your mind could be supplanted by terabytes of computer power, before you have a mind. But that is the way of the future; Or is it?
It is hard to believe that the Apollo 11 spacecraft had a computer with only 2k of memory and 32k of storage. Earlier missions had relied upon as little as 24k of core read-only storage, and 1k of main memory.
Moore’s Law ... which originated around 1970 ... simplified version states that processor speeds, or overall processing power for computers will double every two years. The limitation which exists is that once transistors can be created as small as atomic particles, then there will be no more room for growth in the CPU market where speeds are concerned.
On the other hand, ... perhaps molecular computers, quantum computers can takeover when silicon power is exhausted. But then the question is, what’s the timeframe?
" ... In fact, Intel Corporation is now going to three-dimensional chips, chips that compute not just flatly in two dimensions but in the third dimension. But there are problems with that. The two basic problems are heat and leakage. (MICHIO KAKU. MARCH 7, 2012, 12:00 AM. HERE) ... "CONCLUSION
Hey, our brains are three dimensional. But, did you, reader, catch that -- "heat and leakage" -- we might want to tweak our brains in this age of techno-barbarism; all that leakage will catch up with us.
Using natural human curiosity and Google search, will we download our brains?
" ... Our brain is a learning machine. It encounters tasks and then learns how to overcome these tasks, one by one. So that's going to be the basic problem. Simply digitalizing information, that's easy, we can simply scan information into a computer. But, you see, our brains learn. We learn to adapt new ideas, we begin to learn new tasks and new things. And that's going to be a lot more difficult to replicate by computer. So, I personally don't think we're going to see that in our lifetime. (MICHIO KAKU. JANUARY 19, 2011, 12:00 AM. HERE) ... "Let the wild rumpus continue. And, be good to your brain, it's got a lot on its mind!

EXCERPT | " ... "I hereby call on Rick Santorum to sue the doctor who performed the surgery that saved his wife’s life. While it may not be a criminal act yet, at least you can get damages from the doctor for daring to save your wife’s life at the expense of your wife’s constitutionally endowed infection source. That act was a second-trimester abortion. It was a “partial birth abortion”. It was done only to save your wife’s life. It is done generally only to save other mothers’ lives. Those blog posts have been read by 400 million readers across the globe, Kim adds. And according to the video below, 75 percent of traffic comes from outside the United States (the service is available in 50 languages).

If you Live in or around Zeeland, Michigan...
...You now have no reason to not visit MooPig Wisdom on the internet!!Blogger Buzz: Show off your favorite blogs with a Blog List
by Pat Darnell
Google in its ever ending journey towards zero , and the ultimate null hypothesis... has added a few clever blogger tricks to its armory.
I use now the Post Options trigger, that allows me to put new web log posts in places I think they could do the most "good." Those who think I am not shooting with all six bullets might want to realize it is a clip pistol I use. I am actually writing blogs ahead of time and scheduling them to post when I am on other tasks, like eating white bread. Multi-tasking is so wonderful.
Also recently I have utilized the new Blog List adaptation seen in the sidebar of my not too famous yet blog MooPig Wisdom. My Blog List is called Mi Blog List: su Blog List. All gratis from Father Google, and convenient for you because you will notice there is no advertising in this MooPig Wisdom site!! We can not justify making money off other's rancid mistakes, and sometimes fatal grammar errors.
So you Zeelanders can log in and scroll down to the Zeeland News Topix and see if any thing is happening there, besides bucolic bliss, and daffodils poking their heads up through the deep snow. Happy day, bob sledding the Internet today!

Google Flabbin

Googlers muse about the next decade's technological advances and their possible impact on the world. Read now.

Google's about to have its second tenth birthday. In late August, Blogger will officially turn 10 years old. As our birthday draws near, we thought it would be interesting to share some fun facts about Blogger:
- Every minute of every day, 270,000 words are written on Blogger
- Millions of people worldwide use Blogger to publish to their blog each week
- Almost two thirds of Blogger's traffic comes from outside North America (What's the #2 country after the U.S.? Brazil, followed by Turkey, Spain, Canada, and the U.K.)
- The most popular sport for our bloggers? Soccer (that's football to the rest of the world), more than four times larger than the #2 sport, baseball

Jupiter Dust Filtration System: Winter 2007
External accretion of extraterrestrial mass is irrefutable. Everyone knows about meteors and meteor showers that regularly enhance the night skies at certain times each year. Meteorites, the solid remnants of meteors that land on Earth, are also known to almost everyone, even though few may have actually seen one.

When astronomers observe a star surrounded by an accretion disk in visible light, they typically see radiation from the star at the center of the disk. When they observe the disk in the infrared, they typically see emission at a continuous range of wavelengths, ranging from short to long. The short-wavelength IR radiation emanates from dust closest to the star. There the dust is heated to temperatures of a 1000 °C or more. Dust in the disk farther away from the star is cooler and emits at longer IR wavelengths.

The problem is it's virtually impossible to actually see a nascent planet inside a swirling, turbulent, and opaque disk of gas and dust. It's much easier to identify planets orbiting stars a billion years old (or older) whose accretion disks have vanished.
Not ones to throw up their hands in despair, however, Fellow Phil Armitage and colleagues from the University of Edinburgh, the University of St. Andrews, and Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy recently analyzed some indirect evidence that some accretion disks may have at least one Jupiter-sized gas planet within them. The evidence comes from the properties of the disk itself. (Read Article HERE)

Google Takes Over the World !!
InformationWeek
The handset is being made by High Tech Computer, and the documentation confirms that the device is being called the "Dream." Keeping in line with recent reports, the handset will support T-Mobile's 3G network.
In the documentation, there's mention of a "jog ball," which many expect to be similar to the trackball found on Research In Motion (NSDQ: RIMM) devices like the BlackBerry Bold. The documents also reveal the device will have 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, as well as Bluetooth capabilities.
The FCC documentation does not include pictures of the device, but it is expected to sport a large touch screen that will slide out to reveal a five-row QWERTY keyboard. While the device probably will have features like mobile e-mail, Web browsing, and calendaring, it may not have robust business features as Google is aiming the mobile platform at the broader consumer market.
Representatives from Android, HTC and T-Mobile are sticking to the previously announced fourth quarter 2008 time frame but reports suggest that the handset could hit the market as soon as October.
After months of speculation that Google was working on a mobile handset, the search giant announced last November it would develop a Linux-based operating system with the goal of creating an open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices. An industry consortium known as the Open Handset Alliance was formed to advance this goal as well, and it includes members like Motorola (NYSE: MOT), Intel (NSDQ: INTC), Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM), and more.
The move will also allow Google to expand its lucrative digital advertising business into the mobile market. But the search company may be facing some stiff competition as users and developers may be drawn to the existing players like Windows Mobile, Apple, RIM, and Symbian.

As Google Android SDK Hits Street, Android Security Team BracesPosted by George Hulme, Aug 19, 2008 08:44 PM
This version of the SDK, version 0.9, Google says, is very close to what the final SDK will look like. While this is all good news for anyone who has yet to buy an iPhone and sign up for a lengthy AT&T contract, it also means that more security researchers, if they haven't already started, will begin hammering away for any existing security-related vulnerabilities. It's what they do, and in the long run, their work improves the quality of software.
Google knows this, and already is bracing for the storm. This is from an e-mail the Android Security Team posted to the popular Full Disclosure mailing list yesterday:
As you may expect, building and maintaining a secure mobile platform is a difficult task. The Android platform team has put a great deal of work into trying to design a platform that balances our goal of open development and user choice with the unique challenges of securing a consumer-focused mobile system. While we have found and fixed many of our own bugs as well as flaws in other open source projects, we realize that the discovery of additional security issues in a system this large and complex is inevitable. That is why we would like to introduce ourselves today and let the security research community know how they can reach out and work with us. [Read More HERE...]
