MooPig GERD Department :: "I am tired of being Toxic!"

[Picture LINK]

Diary of a Misshapen Dysphemism
by Pat Darnell  |  Nov 17, 2015  |  Bryan TX

Yes, it is that bad. Mirror, mirror, everywhere, who is the pear-shaped Honkey in your glare? Emasculated by the ones who love me, cursed by a dying, incontinent, elder, and once a breeder now impotent, I am thus.

"Ring, Ring," goes the phone.

"Hello, is it really you?" says the caller, me.

"Yes, it is me, after all these years," says the other.

"Help," say I in a moderate tone. "Am I just another victim of bad science and big business?"

If you didn't follow that one, that was me today calling me of yesterday. It's not so far fetched.

"So, what'd you eat today?" asked I past.

"Pretzels and lunch meat," respond I present, "and diet-cola."

TO BE CONTINUED ...

MooPig Tech Coroner :: "Nuclear Missiles"

Uranium and Other Heavies
Half-life Articles Mashed by Pat Darnell  |  Sep 20, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

I have a friend on faceBook who has been posting blurbs about movement of Uranium ore around the world. It seems the mining and handling of Uranium is a clusterfrak, like everything else in the world of technology, industry, banking, living, etcetera ... etcetera ... etcetera. The uranium supply chain is prone to misdirection or black-market-like foiles, and used as a political football, or is it ... no one really knows. But from her blurbs I gather that the primary motivator in mining uranium and other heavies is "Money, Profit, and Corporations' Financial Health."

It turns out the mining, processing, refining, enrichment of uranium and other heavy metals continues despite the end of the Cold War. Yes, MooPig Uranium Enrichment Department is a musky closet with spider webs and the smell of Grandpa.

Very little is ever discussed about uranium and rare earth metals. If you search faceBook for "uranium" you get a page about a social club. We have missiles in rural areas throughout the USA, and many more that are in unknown locations. The entire Titan II missile and its underground silo is a toxic chemical nightmare.
" ... Absent the Soviet threat, it's easy to forget that these ungodly devices are still all around us. An entire generation, as Schlosser told me recently, is blissfully unaware of the specter of nuclear devastation. (Michael Mechanic | Sun Sep. 15, 2013. LINK) ... "
Special thanks to rebellious Mother Jones Magazine for posting a review on Eric Schlosser's new book, Command and Control. Schlosser tells of danger lurking in American landscapes that could match the Japanese Earthquake-Tsunami-Nuclear Disaster at Fukushima. If one of these "dormant" Titan II nuclear missiles was caught in an earthquake, it would blow up in dozens of ways, for dozens of reasons.
" ... The nose cone on top of the Titan II was deep black, and inside it sat a W-53 thermonuclear warhead, the most powerful weapon ever carried by an American missile. The warhead had a yield of nine megatons—about three times the explosive force of all the bombs dropped during the Second World War, including both atomic bombs. (Michael Mechanic | Sun Sep. 15, 2013. LINK) ... "
A Sneak Peek at Eric Schlosser's Terrifying New Book on Nuclear Weapons | Mother Jones: "Here's the truth: Just days after JFK was sworn in as president, one of the most terrifying weapons in our arsenal was a hair's breadth from detonating on American soil. It would have pulverized a portion of North Carolina and, given strong northerly winds, could have blanketed East Coast cities (including New York, Baltimore, and Washington, DC) in lethal fallout."
" ... EXCERPT  | Eric Schlosser: 'I spent some time with the Air Force ... I was interested in the future of warfare in space: space weapons, particle-beam weapons, lasers, directed-energy devices. A lot of the people who were involved in it had started their careers as missile-crew officers. As I spent time with them, I became more interested in their stories from the Cold War about nuclear weapons than I did in the future of warfare in space. ... I find it remarkable how little public attention has been paid to the safety of nuclear weapons since the end of the Cold War.' (Michael Mechanic | Sun Sep. 15, 2013. LINK)... "
'via Blog this'

CONCLUSION
Friendly fire and collateral damages will be understatement if one of our own nuclear warhead missiles does detonate on American soil. Our US Government, and all its affiliate corporations working for it, has misinformed the American public about the threat of this happening.

We quoted it once, we'll do it again -- this one is for you Dr Patton:
" ... What is the greatest threat to humanity? We are, of course….and our technology. Like a dangerous weapon in the hands of a child, technology has overtaken our capacity to control potential consequences. Oxford University’s Future of Humanity Institute, led by director Nick Bostrom, says we have entered this new kind of technological era that we have no track record of surviving.

Our technological intelligence may have the potential for creating a better world, but so far, in areas of the economy, genetics and biologics, arms and warfare, security and surveillance, as well as the environment and energy, technology is also completely indifferent to the law of unintended consequences.

Fukushima is what happens when we have the moral responsibility of infants and the technology of adults. (Dr Caldicott. March, 2011. LINK)... "

UPDATE Honey Bee Down :: "Confabbing Insanity: US Approves Bee Death"

Can It be any more Obvious?
Another Internet Pawl and Ratchet by Pat Darnell  |  May 20, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

Insanity: US Approves Bee Death Pesticide as EU Bans It: "Corporate politics is business as usual inside the United States, as I am once again shocked to report the EPA has sided with industry lobbyists over public health in approving a highly dangerous pesticide that the European Union recently decided to ban over fears of environmental devastation. Not only have neonicotinoid pesticides been linked repeatedly to mass bee deaths, also known as Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), but the continued use of such pesticides threatens other aspects of nature (and humans) as well."

Recruiting is the name of the game. Especially in politics, a person is recruited by professionals for as little reason as his face. Recruiting the face puts a lot of pressure on a normal person, who thinks he is being recruited for his testimony, or his brains, or something other than just his face. The likelihood of one "pretty" person being recruited over another "less pretty person" in today's media blitzed, cacophonous, rabble is not a long shot.

Such broad strokes of a critical brush beg explanation. Or does it? For you who have been recruited, why do you think it was? Was your recruiter smarter than you? Did you have some similar attribute shared with your recruiter? Was the other person "the competition," fat or balding?

Let's say you are a patron at a whore house. The whores line up for you to pick one. You are with your friends, so you feel an edge to pick out the "best" candidate for your party, eh? You are also under pressure because the "matron" doesn't have all night. What are your criteria?

  • Cleanliness, background check
  • stature, good bone structure
  • pretty face, symmetry
  • Reminds you of some one, similitudes

There you have it. That is how politicians are picked out. Can you think of other professions that are recruited this way?

So, now your politics has a face. Industry lobbyists get behind those faces. They make money less scarce for those faces. Remember that the faces still think they have reached their political office because they are smarter than you and me. So their ego's grow to out of proportion. Their faces start to swell up, flesh falls off their faces; it is painful to watch.

Back to the topic: " ... Not only have neonicotinoid pesticides been linked repeatedly to mass bee deaths, also known as Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), but the continued use of such pesticides threatens other aspects of nature (and humans) as well. (Anthony Gucciardi. May 12, 2013. LINK) ... "
   'via Blog this'

CONCLUSION
Bees are dying because political recruiters are playing stink finger with egomaniacal politicians who can't help themselves.

UPDATE Honey Bee Down :: "Bee Colonies"

The Invisible Romantics
Compendium by Pat Darnell  |  May 9, 2013  |   Bryan TX
Honey Bee Die-Off Caused By Multiple Factors Including Pesticides | News & Notes, What Matters Today | BillMoyers.com: "A federal study released today attributes the massive die-off in American honey bee colonies to a combination of factors, including pesticides, poor diet, parasites and a lack of genetic diversity. Nearly a third of honey bee colonies in the United States have been wiped out since 2006. The estimated value of crops lost if bees were no longer able to pollinate fruits and vegetables is around $15 billion." (May 2, 2013. by Theresa Riley. LINK)

Hey everybody on the Internet... here's a challenge for you. Let's occupy Bee Colonies. How about it? As a single voice from the heart of America, we could write songs about the disappearing Bee colonies, we could write posts, we could camp out near Bee Colonies... I don't know... maybe we could save the BEE's.

While you watch Dancing With the Stars on Mondays, you could make a call during a commercial.

Is there any other creature more impassioned than your average Worker BEE? I ask you to drop the veil of gadgetry for a second: is there a thing on earth more efficient than a honey BEE?

What is it America? You don't want almonds on your salads anymore? You want to have lemonade without lemons?

Hey, INTERNET, GET off your ASS!

MooPig's Vacation Like the Kennedy's :: "Carnival Cruise 'Dream'"

Re-hashed by Pat Darnell  |  Mar 15, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

New Ad Reflects the Reality of a Carnival Cruise | Mad Magazine: "For the second time in a month, a Carnival Cruise ship — this one called “The Dream” and henceforth known as “The Nightmare” — is suffering power outages and pesky plumbing problems.

Note: by “pesky plumbing problems,” we mean what passengers call “large amount of human waste all over the floor in bathrooms and staterooms.” On the positive side, we hear the view from the stench-ridden cabins is lovely this time of year. "

MooPig GREEN :: Energy Source Developments -- "Fracking"

Mulligan
Retrieved by Pat Darnell | Dec 2011 | Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]
The Whole Fracking Enchilada | Sandra Steingraber | Orion Magazine: EXCERPT  |  " ... "But high-volume slick water hydrofracturing of shale gas—fracking—is way bigger than PVC and synthetic fertilizer. In fact, it makes them both cheaply available. Fracking is linked to every part of the environmental crisis—from radiation exposure to habitat loss—and contravenes every principle of environmental thinking."
" ... HERE, THEN, are the environmental precepts violated by hydrofracking: 1) Environmental degradation of the commons should be factored into the price structure of the product (full-cost accounting), whose true carbon footprint—inclusive of all those diesel truck trips, blowouts, and methane leaks—requires calculation (life-cycle analysis). 2) Benefit of the doubt goes to public health, not the things that threaten it, especially in situations where catastrophic harm—aquifer contamination with carcinogens—is unremediable (the Precautionary Principle). 3) There is no away.
'via Blog this'
" ... And nowhere in the U.S. is fracking proceeding more manically than Appalachia, which is underlain by the formation called the Marcellus Shale, otherwise referred to by the Intelligent Investor Report as “the Saudi Arabia of natural gas” and by the Toronto Globe and Mail as a “prolific monster” with the potential to “rearrange the continent’s energy flow.” (STEINGRABER, Sandra. September/October 2010 issue of Orion magazine. HERE ) ... "

Summer SOY-stice

Retrieved from email by Pat Darnell | July9, 2011 | Bryan TX

I'd Rather be Sick ...
Al Sears, MD
11903 Southern Blvd., Ste. 208
Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411

July 8, 2011

Dear Patdarnell,

Buddhist monks live a strict life of depriving themselves. They don’t have any kind of sexual activity and try to stop themselves from even having any desires. They are not allowed to marry, or even touch a woman. Sex and lust are the most important things to avoid.

And do you know how they prevent all those sexual urges and desires?

They eat soy.

If that’s what you had to do to be healthy, I think I’d pass.

Soy promotes what I call testosterone resistance in your body. When you don’t have enough testosterone it can rob you of your sexual desire and energy. And studies show that soy’s two main estrogen-like compounds – genistein and daidzein –create this resistance to testosterone. They block your sex hormones, called androgens, from reaching their androgen receptors.1

Soy appears to have three ways it does this:

1. Soy interferes when testosterone wants to bind to its natural hormone receptors.

Genistein and daidzein bind so strongly to androgen receptors that they take the place of testosterone in your body. When researchers looked at how this affects development in boys, they found that it can wreak havoc on sexual development.2

2. Soy Increases SHBG.

Why is SHBG (or serum hormone binding globulin) so important? Because it regulates your sex hormones. When you have too much, it lowers the amount of free testosterone you have, and your hormones go out of whack...which can lead to impotence and low libido.

Japanese researchers gave healthy men only 60 mg of soy for three months. Their SHBG jumped, and their free testosterone went into free-fall.3 For women the effects are worse. In addition to diabetes, low SHBG levels can cause infertility, polycystic ovaries, acne and uterine cancer.

3. Soy lowers the amount of testosterone your body produces.

In a study investigating ways of reducing testosterone for prostate cancer patients, researchers discovered a surefire way to lower total testosterone in men: soy.

They fed animals less than 1 mg of soy and found that their testosterone levels dropped like a stone.4

To avoid testosterone resistance, my advice is that both men and women should avoid all soy products.

The problem is it’s not always easy to tell what has soy in it and what doesn’t.

Here are two ways to help you avoid hidden soy so you can keep your sex drive alive, have lots of energy and stay happy:

Step 1. You probably don’t like to read labels, but it’s best to be aware of how much soy you’re consuming, given the potential health hazards. Avoid these ingredients in your food. They are all usually made from or contain soy:

• Albumin
• Bulking Agent
• Carob
• Emulsifier
• Glycerol monostearate
• Guar gum
• Gum arabic
• Hydrolyzed plant protein
• Hydrolyzed vegetable protein
• Lecithin
• Liquid smoke
• Mixed tocopherols
• Mono- and di-glyceride
• Monosodium glutamate
• Natural flavorings
• Protein
• Protein concentrate
• Protein extender
• Protein isolate
• Smoke flavor
• Stabilizer
• Textured vegetable protein
• Thiamine mononitrate
• Thickening agent
• Vegetable broth
• Vegetable gum
• Vegetable oil
• Vegetable shortening

Step 2. Soy isn’t just hidden in your food, it’s hidden on your food – like fruits and vegetables.

To make them look shiny and delicious on store shelves, and to seal in moisture, produce is sprayed with a waxy coating. You may already know that these waxes can be made from petroleum, but what you may not know is that most are not.

Many waxy coatings – including officially organic-approved food-grade coatings made from vegetable, beeswax, carnauba wax or lac resin – use soy protein to thicken the wax so it sticks to the produce.

The government puts these coatings in their “generally recognized as safe” category, which is good enough for the big food manufacturers. Unfortunately, many people in the organic food business consider anything made from soy “natural,” meaning good for you, even though it’s anything but.

That’s why fruits and vegetables are one instance where organic isn’t good enough. I buy what I like to call “better than organic” – fresh, local produce. I love shopping at the farmer’s market near my house. It makes me feel good to know where my food is coming from.

To Your Good Health,

Al Sears, MD

MooPig's Activism Channel :: "To Save Chesapeake Bay"

The Plan is to make Multistate effort to Restore one of the World's Biggest Estuaries
Retrieved for Ed Purposes by Pat Darnell using no Football Metaphors

Chesapeake Bay "remains overburdened by pollution despite a three-decade, multibillion-dollar effort to reverse the tide. (SOURCE)"
"The bay, as a system, is definitely improving," said Will Baker, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's president. "The bad news is that, as a system, it's still dangerously out of balance."
How many organizations are "dedicated solely to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers?" It seems the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, CBF, is along with the Sierra Club. "To achieve its mission, CBF seeks to reduce pollution, restore habitat and replenish fish stocks, and educate and engage constituents to take action for the Bay through blogs and other activism."

Note: MooPig wants to throw in its blogadacious self as a activist Chesapeake Saver Blog.... yeah!

The only problem is that it is not proceeding as quickly as it might. The CBF grades the estuary each year and this year it only gets a D+ grade. Oooops. "Activities such as agriculture and sprawl ... contribute to the bay's crippled environmental health. (AP . NOV 29, 2010 . SOURCE) "

"Virginia and the bay states can have clean water and a growing economy," Jennings said. "Overwhelming majorities of Virginia voters understand that investments in clean water are investments in our economic future and our children's future. (AP . NOV 29, 2010 . SOURCE)"
Virginia submitted its revised plan to do its part to restore the bay ... sent to the Environmental Protection Agency as part of its plan to put the estuary on a "pollution diet."
There has been improvement because last year's report card was a D- [D minus].
"The report [grade] compares the bay at its current state to the one encountered by John Smith in the early 1600s. It examines fisheries, habitat and pollution ...
" ... The foundation found improvements in ... most notably blue crabs, the bay's popular crustacean whose population has nearly tripled since tougher fishing laws were enacted in 2008.
" ... [S]ubgroups — wetlands protection, shad restoration, and reducing nitrogen and phosphorus discharges — declined or showed no improvement since the last report.
Unfortunately for cleanup efforts, legislation was not passed in the "lame duck session of Congress" just before Christmas. " ... [T]he Chesapeake Clean Water Act, failed to pass in the lame duck session of Congress. The act would have made law — not just an Obama administration priority — but also, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's accelerated bay cleanup plan. ... " Guess who the biggest opponent to this legislation was?
" ... [N]otably the American Farm Bureau Federation, mounted an effective opposition campaign. ... "

Conclusion:
"The Chesapeake Bay was once one of the most productive and profitable estuaries in the world, but pollution now threatens to kill the golden goose," Ann Jennings, the [Chesapeake Bay Foundation]'s executive director, said in a news release. "Dirty water is a job killer. Bay pollution is not only an ecological disaster; it's an economic one, too. (SOURCE)"
