MooPig GWOT Department :: "WTF?"
Writing is a daily exercise. If I don't write for a few days I find I get squirrel-y. Also, writing regularly in a blog I get real adept at writing a short-short, but as soon as I miss a few days, I get raspy on the short-short.
I have written 3517 blog posts, 251 of them are unpublished drafts. They are the orphans. Here is one of those drafts that talks about GWOT, the Global War on Terrorism.
The Worldwide Network of US Military Bases | Global Research: "Twenty years later, US strategists, in an attempt to justify their military interventions in different parts of the World, have conceptualized the greatest fraud in US history, namely “the Global War on Terrorism” (GWOT). The latter, using a fabricated pretext constitutes a global war against all those who oppose US hegemony. A modern form of slavery, instrumented through militarization and the “free market” has unfolded. Major elements of the conquest and world domination strategy by the US refer to:
1) the control of the world economy and its financial markets,
2) the taking over of all natural resources (primary resources and nonrenewable sources of energy). The latter constitute the cornerstone of US power through the activities of its multinational corporations."

MooPig Brain Industry :: "Call me Crazy, but is that Brain Abuse?"
"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Mish-mashed articles by Pat Darnell | May 4, 2014 | Bryan TX

Up until recently, self awareness was our 'key' to being human. Now we consider Orcas and Honey Badgers as self-aware. Your pet ferret is probably as self-aware as Senator Boehner, which is not saying much. Humans have tagged themselves with a badge that is not earned.
Humans have mustered energies into creating themselves as monsters. In two ways we humans have missed the boat: 1) by not embracing human imperfections, 2) making imperfections our standards of success.
Greed, avarice, self-image, ego, or any of the seven deadly sins are what money changers and their ilk depend on for their trade. Humans feed off other humans by passing judgment on each other. I really don't want to proselytize any reader of this, rather I want to save people with "mental conditions" some of the anguish they encounter at the hands of predators.
In other words, if it sounds right, chances are it is right, regardless of how we have been led to believe. Savvy? No? The opposite is also true: if it sounds wrong, it probably is wrong. Here following is an opposition article about mental illness that might open some corridors:
Non-Conformity and Creativity Now Listed As A Mental Illness By Psychiatrists | Collective-Evolution: "“The nail that sticks up will be hammered down.” – Japanese Proverb
"...Is nonconformity and freethinking a mental illness? According to the latest addition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, it looks that way. The manual identifies a mental illness labelled as “oppositional defiant disorder, or ODD. It’s defined as an “ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior.”
"...It’s also included in the category of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The manual is used by psychiatrists to diagnose mental illnesses, and it seems that with each new issue a new, made up mental illness is added to the list. This isn't something new, in the Soviet Union, a systematic political abuse of psychiatry took place and was based on the interpretation of political dissent as a psychiatric problem. Mental illness has been used for political repression, those who were/are non-conformant and do/did not accept the beliefs of authority figures (like government agencies) face labels that do not represent them at all, and have no scientific backing what so ever..."

Brain specialists still do not know very much about how our brain works; thus, those same brain doctors have even less knowledge of how all the brains in God's animal kingdom function. A Washington Post article observed that, if Mozart were born today, he would be diagnosed with ADD and “medicated into barren normality (Andrew, Oct 8, 2010. LINK) ...”
Considering the fragility of the brain itself, in that it is not surrounded by muscle, cartilage, or massive bones, how can we go on battering it around, until it is bruised and dysfunctional? Your brain must be the control center for the senses as eyes, ears, nose, taste, tactile pick up stimulus. With newer brain scanning equipment that shows brain activity over time, we have some idea of how involved our brains are. We don't use only 10% of our brain as is commonly thought. Our brains keep busy, using as much processing capacity as it can to get us through our modern days and nights.
The writer of the referenced article, Arjun Walia, says:

So brain doctors are toying with brain performance enhancements, but can they define a baseline human brain? Call it Brain Industry, or call it Transhumanism, Human+, elevating the human condition; it will make no difference because we don't know yet what to enhance, and predator humans will continue to develop even stranger methods using the seven deadly sins to control outcomes. I call it brain abuse.

" ... Simply put, transhumanism is the process of consciously improving oneself, or a group of people, beyond the limitations of "baseline" humanity, and thereby create a new, post-human species. Without that conscious desire to exceed humanity, one is neither a transhumanist nor a transhuman. One can be a technophile, or a cyborg, or genetically enhanced, but unless that is coupled with the goal of moving beyond "humanity", it is not transhumanism. There is a reason that a common transhumanist symbol in the early days was (H. JUNE 1, 2013. LINK)

MooPig Re-Reading Old Posts Department :: "From 2012 -- Obama's new way of war"
Military Budget Round Three
mashed articles by Pat Darnell | Mar 1, 2014 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK]
USA has been at war for all my natural life. We are somehow designated world police, and therefore also designated scapegoat for all our hapless allies. We invade and occupy countries in the name of human rights, and are called upon by those of the oppressed groups to help them avoid genocide, terrorist attacks, expulsion, injury and death by their oppressors. I read that there were 2.2 million refugees out of Syria in their last civil/religious/factions/insurgents war.
"War ... I hate War," said FDR once. But I am beginning to think the USA loves War. Even when we cut war chest budget and soldiers go home, we still as a nation go on killing with new war toys -- like remote controlled drones. I think we will reinvent ways to kick everyone's ass for a long time, even if war resembles video games.
In light of today's "cut backs" in military budget, we find the roots of this in the recent past.
Barack Obama's new way of war 2012 | MyFDL: "In the main article, Bacevich describes three phases of the War Formerly Know As The Global War On Terror (WFKATGWOT): the shock-and-awe (conventional forces) phase, the COIN (counter-insurgency) phase, and finally “Round 3: Assination”, which he describes as follows:
“True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.”
[State of the Union Address in January 1944. Reported in: "The Public Papers and Addresses of Franklin D. Roosevelt: Victory and the threshold of peace, 1944-45", p. 41]
“Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.” [The public papers and addresses of Franklin D. Roosevelt: with a special introduction and explanatory notes by President Roosevelt (1941), p. 538, "A Message on Education for American Education Week, September 27 1938"]
“We must scrupulously guard the civil rights and civil liberties of all our citizens, whatever their background. We must remember that any oppression, any injustice, any hatred, is a wedge designed to attack our civilization.” [Greeting to the American Committee for the Protection of the Foreign Born, Washington, D.C. (9 January 1940)]
For the past 80 years what FDR says in his speeches is what we are fighting for, and what Americans have been voting for -- an implied social contract. It is perceived that we are the greatest civilization to ever exist, mostly perceived by ourselves about ourselves, and that all civilizations append their archaic systems to be Democracies like the USA.
According to FDR, and all who believe him, USA fights for ... "economic security and independence, ... [t]he real safeguard of democracy...education .... [and] scrupulously guard[ing] the civil rights and civil liberties of all our citizens ..."
I don't think military budget cuts now in 2014 will amount to much of anything. USA will forge ahead in its safeguarding and providing security all over the world at whatever cost.

"...The United States is finished with the business of sending large land armies to invade and occupy countries on the Eurasian mainland. Robert Gates, when still Secretary of Defense, made the definitive statement on that subject. The United States is now in the business of using missile-armed drones and special operations forces to eliminate anyone (not excluding U.S. citizens) the president of the United States decides has become an intolerable annoyance. Under President Obama, such attacks have proliferated."'via Blog this'
" ...Rather than setting out to clear, hold and build thousands of tiny, primitive villages scattered across the Afghan countryside, such a strategy should emphasize three principles: decapitate, contain and compete. An approach based on these principles cannot guarantee perpetual peace. But it is likely to be more effective, affordable and sustainable than a strategy based on open-ended war.
"... Decapitation — targeting leaders for elimination — provides the means to suppress immediate threats to our safety. The violent jihadists who pose those threats are vicious but relatively few in number. They possess limited capabilities. Their aspirations of uniting the world’s Muslims into a new caliphate are akin to Sarah Palin’s or Dennis Kucinich’s presidential ambitions — unworthy of serious attention. They are rank fantasies (Andrew Bacevich. September 2009. )..."CONCLUSION

MooPig Evolving Budget Department :: "The Military Budget Deal"
How to Spend a Couple of Hundred Billion in an Afternoon
Mashed MoJo articles by Pat Darnell | Dec 15, 2013 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK] Awase Meadows Golf Course was built in 1948 by the U.S. Army and was most recently operated by Marine Corps Community Services. It was closed in February and turned over to Japanese control in June as part of a 1996 agreement to return 21 percent of the U.S. military property on the island.
Mother Jones Magazine has been around for about 40 years. I was on Trinity University campus "on its inception in 1970-1973, Mother Jones operated with an editorial board, and members of the board took turns serving as managing editor for one-year terms." They had a unique way of marketing; they gave free monthly copies away the first year to all us students in the dorms. Mother Jones would show up in my mail box each month. It also littered the mailroom floor as many students just threw their free copies there. Since then I have subscribed to Mother Jones once. But now I can read it online, HERE. MoJo tells me it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we rely on YOU to support our fiercely independent reporting.
TIME and NEWSWEEK were also pushed on the student body during my years at college. I also subscribed to them at the student rate, 19 cents a copy. I also subscribed to Mother Earth News during that time.
As MoJo is reporting military spending, Young Turks network also reports "the pentagon has apparently misplaced or can't account for 8.5 trillion dollars in the last decade and a half ..." in this youTube HERE.
The Budget Deal Is a Big Win for the Pentagon | Mother Jones: "Until Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) rode to the rescue this week, Pentagon brass and their allies had been issuing dire warnings about the nation's military readiness: The armed services were being decimated, they said, by sequestration—the automatic budget cuts that were set to trim $1 trillion from the Pentagon budget over the next decade. "It's one thing for the Pentagon to go on a diet. It's another for the Pentagon to wear a straitjacket while dieting," grumbled Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.). The message got through: The House overwhelmingly approved the Ryan-Murray plan just two days after it was introduced."
'via Blog this'
Like everything else, if I think too hard about this subject, I will get dizzy and feel old. The Pentagon has re-framed the military budget again just recently with a unanimous YES vote in Congress. Both parties saved military budget cutbacks with emergency legislation, right before they go for their own month and a half holiday break. Said MoJo: "... The House overwhelmingly approved the Ryan-Murray plan just two days after it was introduced ..."
Our military can not abide a "sequestration" so they are let off the hook again this year by our lawyer leaders of the Legislature, Courts, and Executive Branch ... no audit, no accountability, just systems normal: all fouled up, SNAFU.
CONCLUSION
NEXT WEEK: ...Now if the US military is SNAFU, what is the condition of all the other nations' military?

Like everything else, if I think too hard about this subject, I will get dizzy and feel old. The Pentagon has re-framed the military budget again just recently with a unanimous YES vote in Congress. Both parties saved military budget cutbacks with emergency legislation, right before they go for their own month and a half holiday break. Said MoJo: "... The House overwhelmingly approved the Ryan-Murray plan just two days after it was introduced ..."
" ... The Department of Defense expects its total 2014 budget, including supplemental war funding, to be more than $600 billion. (MoJo. 12/2013. HERE)..."Recently, the government had resorted to the action of taking legal possession of assets until a debt has been paid or other claims have been met. This is called sequestration. The entire legislature is run by lawyers. Every Senate and Congress Person and every intern has a law degree. And they also therefore are officers of the courts. [Even Michelle Bachmann has a law degree]. So, every thing those government types do is always "lawyerly." There is no bigger cock blocker in the world than a high powered lawyer politician, believe you me. There are no beekeepers, pharmacists, MBA's, nor doctors in government. If there are other non-lawyer types in government by popular election, they end up being labeled "whack jobs."
" ... According to Lawrence J. Korb, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, the Pentagon could reduce its budget by $100 billion a year without undermining its readiness. The sequestration cuts for 2013 amounted to $37 billion. (MoJo. 12/2013. ibid) ..."[Graphic LINK]
Our military can not abide a "sequestration" so they are let off the hook again this year by our lawyer leaders of the Legislature, Courts, and Executive Branch ... no audit, no accountability, just systems normal: all fouled up, SNAFU.
" ... David Vine who teaches at American University in Washington D.C. who has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Guardian, attempted to find out himself the cost of the more than 1,000 U.S. military bases outside of the United States and is currently completing a book on the subject."The 2009 U.S. military budget accounts for approximately 40% of global arms spending. The 2012 budget is 6-7 times larger than the $106 billion of the military budget of China, and is more than the next twenty largest military spenders combined.(Ken Hanly. Dec 16, 2012. ibid.)..."
Vine talked to budget experts, and both current and former Pentagon officials, among many others in his attempt to gather relevant data. Many interviewed said that Vine's task was hopeless because of the huge number of bases involved, the secrecy of Pentagon budgets and the often fictional nature of Pentagon figures. The Department of Defence Vine notes is the only federal budget yet to pass a financial audit. (Ken Hanly. Dec 16, 2012. HERE)..."
CONCLUSION
- The Pentagon employs 3 million people, 800,000 more than Walmart.
- The Pentagon's 2012 budget was 47 percent bigger than Walmart's.
- Serving 9.6 million people, the Pentagon and Veterans Administration together constitute the nation's largest healthcare provider.
- 70 percent of the value of the federal government's $1.8 trillion in property, land, and equipment belongs to the Pentagon.
- Los Angeles could fit into the land managed by the Pentagon 93 times. The Army uses more than twice as much building space as all the offices in New York City.
- The Pentagon holds more than 80 percent of the federal government's inventories, including $6.8 billion of excess, obsolete, or unserviceable stuff.
- The Pentagon operates more than 170 golf courses worldwide.
NEXT WEEK: ...Now if the US military is SNAFU, what is the condition of all the other nations' military?

MooPig Budget Department :: "How many US Overseas Military Bases are There"
Trillion Dollars? It's "Penta-gone"
Mashed articles by Pat Darnell | Dec 1, 2013 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK]
Op-Ed: How many bases does U.S. have globally and what is their cost?: "David Vine who teaches at American University in Washington D.C. who has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Guardian, attempted to find out himself the cost of the more than 1,000 U.S. military bases outside of the United States and is currently completing a book on the subject."
'via Blog this'
MooPig Budget Department has been looking around for models to fashion its department around. The editors found this bit of malaise surrounding the US Military Budget. It is totally f**ked up, SNAFU, murky dismal. The military is our number one embezzler of taxpayer money. YIKES!
Safe to say, MooPig Budget Department won't be copying the Pentagon's creative accounting; or will we? If they can get away with it, hey, ....
" ... The Pentagon must each year produce an "Overseas Cost Summary" that calculates the total price on overseas military activities. This includes costs of construction, repairs and maintenance. There are about one million U.S. military and Defence Department personnel and families abroad. This calculation for the 2012 fiscal year ending September 30 documented $22.1 billion in spending. But that is only part of the story.
Congress conveniently ordered the Pentagon not to include the more than $118 billion spent in 2012 on wars in Afghanistan and other places throughout the globe. Even if you added this amount in, it does not come close to economist's Anita Danc's estimate of about $250 billion. Even without including war spending, Danc's estimate comes to about $ 140 billion, not even close to the Pentagon figures. (Ken Hanly. Dec 16, 2012. LINK) ... "

MooPig Good Questions Department :: "Keep those Hard Questions Coming In"
Questions with No Answers
Collected by Pat Darnell | Nov 30, 2013 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK]
God love me, I ask a lot of questions. MooPig Good Questions Department is not the first link to making a list of good questions. There are about 260,000 hits on Google for "tough questions to answer." I can't count how many times people have gotten away from me by saying just that: "That's a good question..." and walking away; their strategic retreat.
For instance referenced below are some sites that ask a lot of good questions. But some questions still cannot be answered by searching the Internet, which after all, is a detailed compendium of 12,000 years of human written history ... right? The real key to asking good questions is when you turn a statement into a query.
Here is our first ever set of good questions:

Here is our first ever set of good questions:
- If there are 1077 overseas US military bases, why is it so hard to find out how much is spent on maintaining all our bases?
- When I am so tired why do I feel sick to my stomach, and unable to talk?
- Why do ferrets shit and piss always in the corners?
- When you have a tumor in your head do you bleed from your ear?
- Why hasn't the Federal Reserve Bank ever been audited?
- Why do workers embezzle money from their employers?
- Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend?
- Why is it not possible to know the truth without challenging it first?
- Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous?
- Why does my husband sneak off and eat all my ice cream?
- If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake?
- Is reaching our highest potential directly related to our willingness to act in the face of imperfection?
- Why does Nature hate a vacuum?
- Why can't a man or woman serve two masters?
- Could a war breakout over a typo?
- Why is a grudge a heavy thing to carry?
- Does the Pope really have a catholic case for shitting in the woods?
- And, why do I love to hear my wife singing while she makes the coffee?

MooPig Complaints Department :: "Ten Formal Complaints in Six Months"
Of Course Not about Us, Everybody Loves Us!
Snagged by Pat Darnell | June 25, 2013 | Bryan TX
Ten Formal Complaints in Six Months: "Apparently after receiving three, you are meant to have some kind of formal meeting between the parties involved but this never happened. According to the rules, if there are five complaints, an external mediator has to be bought in. This didn't happen either and I was quite disappointed. I don't really have anything against Simon apart from the fact that he likes the band Nickelback and I have no idea what his problem with me is, as I'm pretty sure I am an absolute pleasure to work with.
I brought in donuts once, which is pretty nice. I found them in a bin and left them near Simon's desk. When he asked, "Who brought these donuts in?" I replied, "The girl from the shop across the road brought them in because they have too many" and watched him eat four, complaining between mouthfuls that they weren't very fresh. He would have eaten them all but stopped after finding a dead cricket in the box."

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s regulation at Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1614.102(b)(2) requires Federal agencies to establish or make available an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program. The ADR program must be available during both the pre-complaint stage and the formal complaint stage of the equal employment opportunity (EEO) complaint process.
ADR is a range of problem-solving approaches used for resolving conflict in lieu of more formal and/or adversarial processes, such as court litigation. ADR approaches may be used to resolve a portion of, or an entire claim. Such approaches usually involve the use of a neutral third party who works with the parties involved in the dispute to help them find mutually acceptable solutions.

Probably the most "insidious" method of mind control is the practice of conscripting youth into the fascist and hive mindsets... commonly used by regimes that are less free than the West. But as a nation who spouts grandiose about our freedoms, we are closing in fast with our own fascism similar of others.
Yet, in America we have a "dumbing down" in our educational institutions that has no rivals. We have limited our youth to a life behind the veil of half-truths, or no truth at all. Click on this LINK to see a pdf of The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America.

MooPig's Home School :: "The Alternatives"
Working Stiffs At Age 15 | Blogs | Industrial Maintenance and Plant Operations:
'via Blog this'
Here's my deal about this education conundrum. The bottle neck is the workforce. Without a prepared and capable workforce there is no industry. And, 300 million Americans in the Service or Entertainment Industries is afoul of everything we as a nation stand for.
EXCERPT | " ... The issue here is the lack of knowledge and experience of a high school student. Students are not equipped to choose a career at age 15. Just 7 years earlier, they probably wanted to be a doctor, teacher, firefighter, mail man, and astronaut all at once, while becoming a rockstar in their free time. My interests have had many different ebbs and flows since my days in high school, and I’m sure yours have too. A broad exposure to subject areas and the challenges within them is incredibly important in both high school and college, so why pick a profession at 15? ... "I suggest you get rid of Middle Schools as they are organized today, and make them all into farms. You put a 14 year old on a farm and he or she will get the most liberal arts schooling known to this earth. Then you implement apprenticeships in those schools so that by the time the student is in decision mode later in high school, he has some experience in industry. SCREW the system, it sucks so bad it resembles a Hoover.
Besides how is anyone going to afford all those Services and Entertainments that a leisure-tronic society so desperately holds on to? We need workers who are unafraid, and privy to what it takes to "work." Education is the key to an internal lock mechanism in each boy and girl. If not properly turned, that key can lock up a person for his entire life.

Pentagon used psychological operation on US public, documents show in Military Industrial Complex
Figure in Bush propaganda operation remains Pentagon spokesman
In Part I of this series, Raw Story revealed that Bryan Whitman, the current deputy assistant secretary of defense for media operations, was an active senior participant in a Bush administration covert Pentagon program that used retired military analysts to generate positive wartime news coverage.
By Brad Jacobson
Raw Story | A months-long review of documents and interviews with Pentagon personnel has revealed that the Bush Administration's military analyst program -- aimed at selling the Iraq war to the American people -- operated through a secretive collaboration between the Defense Department's press and community relations offices.
Raw Story has also uncovered evidence that directly ties the activities undertaken in the military analyst program to an official US military document’s definition of psychological operations -- propaganda that is only supposed to be directed toward foreign audiences.
The investigation of Pentagon documents and interviews with Defense Department officials and experts in public relations found that the decision to fold the military analyst program into community relations and portray it as “outreach” served to obscure the intent of the project as well as that office’s partnership with the press office. It also helped shield its senior supervisor, Bryan Whitman, assistant secretary of defense for media operations, whose role was unknown when the original story of the analyst program broke.
“It’s hard to think of a more blatant example of propaganda than this program,” Farsetta said.
Cull said the revelations are “just one more indication that the entire apparatus of the US government’s strategic communications -- civilian and military, at home and abroad -- is in dire need of review and repair.”
A PSYOPS Program Directed at American Public
When the military analyst program was first revealed by The New York Times in 2008, retired US Army Col. Ken Allard described it as “PSYOPS on steroids.”
It turns out this was far from a casual reference. Raw Story has discovered new evidence that directly exposes this stealth media project and the activities of its participants as matching the US government’s own definition of psychological operations, or PSYOPS.
The US Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command fact sheet, which states that PSYOPS should be directed “to foreign audiences” only, includes the following description:
“Used during peacetime, contingencies and declared war, these activities are not forms of force, but are force multipliers that use nonviolent means in often violent environments.”
Pentagon public affairs officials referred to the military analysts as “message force multipliers” in documented communications.
