We have been awaiting your return..........
Oh, as for your unilateral efforts to reach into your kids' world and remain
relevant...uh.... how do I say this... You may understand their generation better
but they still don't understand you, nor do they want to, nor did they ask you
to, nor are you even close to being cool.
That said, the miracle is this: unawares, you have blessed a bunch of us in a
thousand ways by catching us in your Web and making us think again like we
hadn't done in years.
You forced us to see the reality of the speed & chaos that characterizes
our internet-driven world. Some of us really didn't know what had
happened while we were busy working, paying the bills and raising little ones!
And, you gave us all an outlet for our screams, our weird old funny bones, our
political queries and peeves and our spiritual groans.
Bless your blond hairs, bless your Buddha belly and bless all of your good
intentions. You have succeeded and done a great good.
