What? We've Run Out of Lambs?

MooPig Compares the Kippenberger Sculpture hanging at Bolzano Contemporary Art Museum with the very contemporary "pop art" that showed up this morning on our Niles Center Road Office Building in Norridge, IL.

MOOPIG art appreciation divulges the unique:
The 1990 wooden sculpture shows the crucified frog nailed through the feet and hands like Jesus Christ. The frog, eyes popping and tongue sticking out, wears a loincloth and holds a mug of beer and an egg in its hands.

An art museum in Italy refused Thursday to remove a 3-foot-tall sculpture displaying a green frog nailed to a cross. Both Pope Benedict XVI and officials in the city of Bolzano have objected to the controversial artwork...

continue displaying a sculpture portraying a green frog nailed to a cross that has angered Pope Benedict XVI and local officials.
The board of the foundation of the Museion in the city of Bolzano voted to keep the work by the late German artist Martin Kippenberger, the museum said in a statement. [clik HERE to continue article]

"With humor and a tragicomic sense, which belongs to art since the times of Greek tragedy, Kippenberger ... faces his condition of suffering, which he expresses in many works, also, for example, in a video in which he crucifies himself," the museum said in a statement.

Hang Down Your Head, Pope Benedict..
Hang Down your Head and Cry
No one's listening to you
That frog's an idol in their eyes!!

Questions Anyone?? Yes you in the back there by the smudges on the wall...

If this is art, then the museum people can start putting dung on their faces, feces on their lips and tell their visitors it's art.

They can wear urine as perfume and call it art. They can replace a frog [for] Jesus, the center of Christianity's faith and call it art.

I wonder if these museum cognoscenti can treat Mohammad, revered by Islam, just like that.

That's how cowardly they could be. Fohgeddaboudit! (Ammnewyork)
