MooPig Inventor Minute Department :: Dean Kamen--An Inventor’s Unconventional Life

This Machine is Designed to Make 1000 Liters of Clean Water a Day...
Mixed Mashed Article by Pat Darnell  |  Nov 29, 2014  |  BryanTX

"...'The myth of invention,' he said, 'is that innovators like Kamen “snap their fingers and things happen. The reality is that it can take 20 years to make something happen.”

"...What Kamen does differently from other entrepreneurs or business people, and what makes him successful, Lazarus said, is that he looks at a problem from the bottom up, rather than the top down. And he doesn’t take “no” for an answer (Nicola Smith. Friday, August 8, 2014.  LINK)..."
"... One of the great things about Dean is how childlike he can be. He’s non-cynical, and non-biased, which helps you to break through to seeing things differently. My admiration for him is how much of that he retains,” Lazarus said. (ibid. Nicola Smith) ..."

An Inventor’s Unconventional Life | Valley News: "Kamen has spent his life coming up with ideas for how to make life better for people — better dialysis machines, better wheelchairs, better heart stents. He’s probably best known for inventing the Segway, a motorized scooter that he hoped would reduce our reliance on cars for transportation. Although it generated enormous press, the Segway didn’t quite take off the way Kamen anticipated it would. What becomes clear as the 93-minute film progresses is how little Kamen cares about doing things the conventional way"
'via Blog this'
"...There is a eureka moment when Kamen realizes that there is one multi-national corporation that gets its product into the remotest of places, and that is the Coca-Cola Co. So Kamen goes after Coca-Cola to team up on distributing the systems, and persuades company officials to sign on. Even so, that’s hardly the end of the story.

“There are 206 countries with 206 different solutions. Nothing you do in Ghana applies to Ecuador and nothing you do in Ecuador applies to Mexico,” Lazarus said. (ibid. Nicola Smith)..."

CONCLUSION
Dean Kamen has the ability to think from the bottom up on problems of catastrophic proportions. A billion people worldwide without clean water sparks his ingenuity. He then invents, designs, and builds a solution.

MooPig Solutions Department :: "Water Underground"

More Water than all our Oceans, all Underground
Mixed martial articles by David Darnell and Pat Darnell  |  June 17, 2014  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK] "...Blue planet: Ringwoodite minerals reveal hints of what things might look like deep within the Earth..."

Waters from the deep is a common way to describe mysterious deposits of water underground. How deep? Well this referenced article claims 400 miles deep in the Earth's mantle is a vast deposit of water.

"...This water is not in a form familiar to us — it is not liquid, ice or vapour. This fourth form is water trapped inside the molecular structure of the minerals in the mantle rock. The weight of 250 miles of solid rock creates such high pressure, along with temperatures above 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, that a water molecule splits to form a hydroxyl radical (OH), which can be bound into a mineral's crystal structure (Kounteya Sinha, TNN | Jun 13, 2014. LINK)..."

Massive underground reservoir of water, ‘three times’ the size of Earth’s oceans, located - The Times of India: ""Melting of rock at this depth is remarkable because most melting in the mantle occurs much shallower, in the upper 50 miles," said Schmandt. "If there is a substantial amount of H2O in the transition zone, then some melting should take place in areas where there is flow into the lower mantle, and that is consistent with what we found."

"...If just one percent of the weight of mantle rock located in the transition zone is H2O, that would be equivalent to nearly three times the amount of water in our oceans. "

CONCLUSION
"...The Quest of science is far from over and nature has abundant resources yet to be discovered and used for needs of humanity. All that is needed is to inspire our scientists for genuine research and keep sufficient funds for them to use (Tejinder Sidhu-- CHANDIGARH. LINK)..."

How to get 400 miles deep into Earth's mantle is what we will be Googling for our next segment. I suggest Chilean miners go because they are the best.

MooPig Tech Coroner :: "Reality of no Water"

Under the Glacier
Mashed articles by Pat Darnell  |  Feb 1, 2014  |  Bryan TX

" ... Friday's action came after Gov. Jerry Brown made an official drought declaration, clearing the way for state and federal agencies to coordinate efforts to preserve water and send it where it is needed most. The governor urged Californians to reduce their water use by 20 percent. (Juliet Williams of Associated Press. 1/31/2014. LINK) ..."

Amid drought, California agency won't allot water: "SAN FRANCISCO — Amid California's most crippling drought of modern times, state officials on Friday announced they will not allocate water to agencies that serve 25 million people and nearly 1 million acres of farmland. Related: Could California be facing a century of drought? The announcement marks the first time in the 54-year history of the State Water Project that such an action has been taken. State Department of Water Resources Director Mark Cowin said the action was taken to conserve the little water that remains behind the dams in the state's vast system of reservoirs."

The Organic Approach: Billboard in Peru Produces Water out of Thin Air: "It works like this: the billboard is designed the way that it captures moisture from the air and puts it through a reverse osmosis system, turning it into drinking water which is then stored in 20 liter tanks. It is capable of providing drinking water for hundreds of families per month."

Um, lets get this straight, you're not paying for a natural resource when you pay your water bill, you are paying for the company and infrastructure that is delivering the water to you. In this video, a company has decided to pay the price so the community (which is unable to purify their water) has safe drinking water. Its a really cool thing. I think that solutions to huge problems are often discovered quite by accident. Radio waves and salt water ... not even sea salt ... just water with Morton's salt in it, will cause saltwater to burn with intense steady flame. Internal combustion is a great possibility, and an end to non-renewable energy sources is plausible.

According to the referenced article -- "It should be noted, however, that the process is not yet considered a practical method of generating energy ... According to a PESWiki article on the subject, the radio-wave generator consumes more energy than can be produced by the burning salt water. Some of the more enthusiastic reports on the invention tend to gloss over this fact. "

Did somebody sneeze? We will try to find out more about this one. I hope someone is out there with a thinking cap on.

MooPig Water Department :: "Potentially Drinkable Water"

Thirsty?
Conjoined articles by Pat Darnell  |  June 9, 2013  |  Bryan TX

[Picture LINK]

Pretty soon we will have to book a flight to Mars to get a drink of fresh, unadulterated, water.

Recently on Mars, the ten year old mission record breaking NASA's Opportunity, discovered what "Scientists believe ... a lot of water once flowed through these rocks through some sort of fracture, leaving an unusually high concentration of clay. (Agence France Presse. Jun. 8, 2013. LINK)"

In a temperate climate, on Earth, adequate intake of water for males is about 13 cups, and for females it is about 9 cups a day. Water makes up 60% of the adult's body weight. To keep your eyes, ears, and, throat moist, like they are supposed to be, requires adequate intake.

So at an average of 10.5 cups per human times 7 billion, ... [cursor blink, blink, |...|...|...] ... That's 73500000000 cups of water a day across Earth.

A note from USGS web page: "...Data compilation for the report Estimated Use of Water in the United States in 2010 had a delayed start in Fall 2011. Report completion and data availability are not expected until 2014. ... "

Potentially Drinkable Water Found On Mars - Business Insider: ""This is powerful evidence that water interacted with this rock and changed its chemistry, changed its mineralogy in a dramatic way," said principal investigator Steve Squyres of Cornell University. He described the research as "some of the most important" of the decade-long mission because it showcases a very different chemistry than most of the previous discoveries about water on Mars, which is now quite dry."

It makes evidence for the argument that there was water on Mars with balanced ph, "water that you could drink" about a billion years ago. But from this rock formation Opportunity has found "prebiotic" water, moisture that could support life forms.
"Opportunity and its twin rover Spirit launched in 2003 and landed in January 2004 for what was initially meant to be a three-month exploration. Both discovered evidence of wet environments on ancient Mars. (Agence France Presse. Jun. 8, 2013. LINK) ..."

CONCLUSION
No water; no life.

The most pristine body of water on Earth is a lake in Australia. Scientists claim it is untouched by climate change for the last 7500 years. (Weather Channel. Jun 5, 2013. LINK)
" ... Blue Lake on Stradbroke Island, which lies off the south Queensland coast of Australia  ... The water here is so pure that the bottom of the nearly 33-ft.-deep lake is visible from the surface. ... "
Earth's population would drink that lake dry in one day, okay maybe in a week ... but you get the drift. Again, no water; no life.

MooPig Report from the Middle :: "Infrastructure"

Report Card for Texas Infrastructure 2008 / 2012, a dismal "C"
Retrieved by Pat Darnell and Assid Reflux  |  Mar 19, 2013  |  Bryan TX

Every 4 years, the American Society of Civil Engineers releases a Report Card for America’s Infrastructure that depicts the condition and performance of the nation’s infrastructure in the familiar form of a school report card by assigning letter grades to each type of infrastructure.

PART ONE: Local, Texas
There are twelve categories in America's report card:
  1. Schools
  2. Drinking Water
  3. Waste Water
  4. Dams
  5. Solid Waste
  6. Navigable Water Ways
  7. Roads
  8. Bridges
  9. Aviation
  10. Transit
  11. Flood Control
  12. Energy
Focusing on the report card for Texas, let's pick on one tiny part of this assessment, Modernizing Our Schools:  per National Education Association (NEA), Texas has a "D-" for Schools, which has not improved from 2008.
" ... From 2000 – 2010, the population of Texas grew 20.6% according to the U.S. Census. In 2010, 19.5% of the population in Texas was school age, a percentage that has remained relatively constant. These figures indicate a current increase in school populations of just about two percent per year. Texas enrollment is the fastest growing for the 15 most populous states over the last decade. ... "
Compare to a 50-state estimate of the need for school modernization in the United States along with recommendations: Key findings show the total funding needed for public school modernization is $321.9 billion, and that total funding needed for public modernization varies dramatically across states, ranging from $50.7 billion (New York) to $333 million (Vermont).

Texas spends just $8,908 per student each year, which is well under the national average of $11,463, according to the National Education Association. Per student annual spending dropped $500 after the Perry education budget was approved by lawmakers.

" ... In Texas, the gain in jobs from 2009 to 2011 has been a loss for the Texan student. During those same three years average spending per enrolled student declined 10.4%, while nationwide, the same measure increased 3.7 % over the same period, according to the Dallas News. ( Alex Rogers. Feb 05, 2013. LINK) ... "
" ... The conservatives of the Texas legislature are about to try again to fool the state's taxpayers into funding private schools with a voucher program. The Republican argument, which falls apart under scrutiny, has been that no child should be condemned to attend a failing public school. No conservative wants to talk about why the public school system might be troubled, however, nor do they contemplate the even greater long-term damages to be wrought by school choice. (James Moore. 1.06.2013. LINK) ... "
So, by deductive reasoning, Texas schools will stay at the substandard level of "D-" for a long time here after. Political fervor to not spend on public education will cause stammer in any attempt to pass bonds for education, or attract Federal funding for our ailing public schools. We think as the public schools go, so will the private schools. Let's call it "Dismal," a D-, for Texas school children. And Texas ends up with inadequate public schools.
' ... State Senator Dan Patrick (R), who promises to push a repackaged vouchers bill in the 2013 legislative session, portrays himself as the champion of parents wanting to free their children from the prisons of public school ignorance and failure. He is, instead, a lost horseman leading a misguided herd off of a cliff into a far canyon. Vouchers will create even greater disparities in educational quality and new forms of segregation. (James Moore. 1.06.2013. LINK) ... "
Question for you; let me know in the comments if you understand this "State funding" statement:
" ... State funding to support school districts with debt principal and interest expenditures related to public school facilities is provided through the Instructional Facilities Allotment and the Existing Debt Allotment. These programs ensure equalized funding related to the Interest and Sinking (I and S) tax effort at rates of $35.00 per penny per student in ADA. The EDA assistance is limited to 29 cents of tax effort, a limit that does not apply to IFA. Higher property wealth school districts rely upon local tax property taxes and receive no state aid from these state aid sources. (ASCE Texas Section. LINK) ... "
So, in Texas, State funding for schools comes from property tax? Is that all they are saying? And the richer the community, the less that community receives for schools?
" ... If less money comes from Austin to local districts, those schools simply have to make cuts or find new ways to raise revenue, which often occurs through increased property valuations on homeowners... (Moore, James. 1.06.2013 LINK)... "
Here is the entire Texas Infrastructure Report Card:

PART TWO: The Nation
What will it cost to bring up our Nation's rating?

In context of our "federal" ailing infrastructure, we hover around a "D" grade overall. Proposed “key solutions” in the 2009 report, included:
  • Increasing federal leadership
  • Promoting sustainability and resilience
  • Complementing a national vision
  • Addressing life-cycle and maintenance costs
  • Improving infrastructure investments from all stakeholders
How much? It will cost the United States of America $2.2 to $3.2  trillion: "the report estimated that $2.2 trillion is the required five-year investment to increase the infrastructure’s condition to “good.” ( Melanie Wong. May 7, 2012. LINK) ... "

TABLE: Estimated 5-year Investment Requirement in Billions of Dollars. Source: ASCE Report for America’s Infrastructure, 2009

CONCLUSION, more of a RANT:
The Rothschild's are worth about $700 trillion. (LINK). Bill Gates Net Worth: a measly $67 Billion as of March 2013 -- Harvard Drop Out -- (LINK). Current Governor of the state of Texas and Republican Presidential primary candidate Rick Perry has a net worth of $3 million. He's accumulated that net worth largely through his family's fortune, and his numerous published books... (LINK)

As we lie awake at night, with gurgling stomachs, and 3 AM beckons us to nervous paranoia ... our imaginations are taxed, and we perceive our children sleep in an unsure state of being.

What socio-pathic government morons are doing at this hour? I can only suspect they are sleeping the sleep of the evil damned. Their home life is not thwarted by their own "denial" and cock-a-mania "conservative agendas." Their children sleep in the throes of voucher privilege. Their infrastructure is covered by the government check they receive, and government vehicles they are given. Yes, given ease of living by us generous folk out here.

Those others, the sleeping rich guys, are born on third base, and never get the pleasure of gutting out a real life struggle to just get on first base, like us. Their idea of work is flying a jet airplane.

It always sounds like sour grapes from us at MooPig Enterprises. What it really is, is acid reflux. So, next time your State votes on education bonds, be sure you are on the right side of that matter.

And that's our Report from the Middle; Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children are hopefully above average.

MooPig 12 Days of Doom Prep :: DAY TWO "Climate Refugees"

Doomed due to Climate, and other Algore-rhythms
By Pat Darnell | Dec 9, 2012 | Bryan TX
[Picture LINK] "...Back on April 11th, 2011, Gavin Atkins of Asian Correspondent asked this simple question: What happened to the climate refugees?..."

Seventy percent of the earth is covered by water. Most of the land is carved by water and wind to be watersheds. Eighty percent of world's population lives near coastlines. This correlation of humans living by the water ways is producing a new class of people worldwide: "Climate Refugees."

There is nothing much more scary to witness as 'rising water.' When it rises, it comes in 'volumes' most of us are unwilling to accept as possible. Water seeks its own level, so it fills up all void space, corner to corner, bottom to top. Rising water knows no boundaries, as it erodes coast lines, or bulwarks, with ease and rapidity. It 'sweeps' away your domicile.

Water, can't live without it, can't live on it.
" ... "Climate Refugees," people who are displaced by climatically induced environmental disasters. Climate change, both incremental and rapid, is resulting in increased droughts, desertification, sea level rise, and the more frequent occurrence of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, cyclones, fires, mass flooding and tornadoes. (Burkle Center for International Relations, UCLA International Institute, November 17, 2010. HERE) ... "
Incremental and rapid change in waterways is forcing people to move away and this is causing border conflicts everywhere it is happening. So much so that " ... The Pentagon now considers climate change a national security risk and the term “Climate Wars” is being talked about in war-room like environments in Washington D.C. ... "

Most Americans make catastrophic decisions, but make few decisions about catastrophes. We depend on others to gather information for us so that we can make up our own minds. Then we do something, or brush it under the rug. The UN is just about the same as all that: headline from 2011, 'The UN ‘disappears’ 50 million climate refugees, then botches the cover-up...'

The problem here is that the UN made a boo boo. What they had advertised is that there would be 50 million refugees by the year 2010.
" ... In 2005, the United Nations Environment Programme predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010. These people, it was said, would flee a range of disasters including sea level rise, increases in the numbers and severity of hurricanes, and disruption to food production. (Anthony Watts. 04/16/2011. HERE) ... "
That has been updated to be 50 million 'Environmental Refugees' by the year 2020. " ... When people are not living in sustainable conditions, they migrate," she [University of California, Los Angeles professor Cristina Tirado] continued, outlining ...how climate change is impacting both food security and food safety, or the amount of food available and the healthfulness of that food. (Karin Zeitvogel (AFP) – Feb 21, 2011. LINK) ... "
" ... [O]ften it's just poor people saying 'I've got to survive, I've got to eat, I've got to feed my family' that ignites things." (Michigan State University professor Ewen Todd)... "
Where are the "Climate Refugees," or, "Environmental Refugees," depending on which Algore-rhythm you follow...? "What we saw in Tunisia -- a change in government and suddenly there are a whole lot of people going to Italy -- this is going to be the pattern," says Ewen Todd. It has been food shortages that put people into 'refugee mode.' Africans have moved to Spain, and Germany, and points along the mediterranean.

"... These are people who can no longer gain a secure livelihood in their homelands because of drought, soil erosion, desertification, deforestation and other environmental problems, together with the associated problems of population pressures and profound poverty, ... says Norman Myers of Oxford University ... "In their desperation, these people feel they have no alternative but to seek sanctuary elsewhere, however hazardous the attempt." ..."

CONCLUSION
MooPig Bombast Watch Department thinks that this issue is not very well funded. "We don't see a money trail for the '2.2 million deaths in developing countries that are caused each year by food and water-borne diseases.'" It doesn't seem to be a priority among nations who have surplus food, to help Climate Refugees.

The UN is powerless to do anything in a material sense, because of this under-funding trend. So, we just sit back and wait until we experience rising water.

Food and Drugs, Fresh Water, and Healthcare: Global South

Healthcare Reform -- a Colossal Waste of Resource .... !
by Pat Darnell

8th Visit today -- but seriously, ... Making it a Law???

Also, not to be a thorn in your [....] nor a practitioner of tangential mechanics to divert attention... no, not even trying to be cute; here is a different kind of interview transcript you might find applicable:
http://www.democracynow.org/2010/4/23/bolivian_president_evo_morales_to_president

"Bolivian President Evo Morales on President Obama: 'I Can’t Believe a Black President Can Hold So Much Vengeance Against an Indian President' ”
HERE

I feel the problemo is three sided. Yes, One is applied science of health care; Two is fresh water supply; Three is food and medicine, as in FDA. ?? No?

Let me make this personal:
Looking back I have never been able to afford healthcare in any form. Even with ample group health insurance I have gone into debt almost every time we needed extensive medical attention for any of our immediate family of eight. Six children from birth to adult hoods, what a nightmare to provide logical, affordable, health care...

And, at 87 my father and mother, God love them, are anxious about "out-living the money."

I don't know anyone today in my circle of family and friends who can honestly say: "I am covered and my family is covered in the event of longterm medical emergency or so on.."

Bureaucrats like Hillary and Barry, on the government payroll, with cushy pensions are no judge to any kind of healthcare reforms. They are simply idiot savants, without the savants, if you catch my drift.

They can dance all they want to. Dance like Mick Jagger.. (referral: God, History and You, -- HERE)

[blah blah blah blecch! wretchedness. FLAP!!!]

They can waltz, all I care.

They can spin like draedals...

... And the AMA can spend trillions to persuade bureaucrats to dance to their tune, it is out of my hands... out of my league, always was, always will be.
_________
This interview has mention of the Global South... that means food producers... go on and tell me cost of healthcare cannot be lowered worldwide with proper diet, and plenty of fresh water? Go on try to convince me.

Flowers rock; and so do forests; and you too, MooPigsters everywhere.

I think it's the Water

You are what you Drink
by Pat Darnell

Sometimes I have to remind myself where I live. If I lived anywhere other than central Texas, I would be harassed about water, utilities, energy, state taxes and weather: just about everything that I take for granted in Brazos Valley.

Not everyone has the leisure to expect better times ahead. Brazos Valley will never be out of water. Heck, Texas will be always clean and a lush place, and hydrated with cool clear water until the end of mankind.

My Dad is 85 today. He is from Sweetwater, Texas. Growing up he was treated to mineral water straight from the under-ground aquifers of this wondrous state. He moved his family around a little bit, but most of his years have been in Texas.

Testament to Texas sweet water, Dad is what he drinks. Today still, his favorite drink is a Bourbon and branch-water. His favorite pastime is cogitating, and speculating. He is past President's Cup champion with a 12 handicap. He has started yet another business enterprise.

And his favorite girl is his wife who graciously gave him all those who followed in the stream of life.

Now it remains true: blood is thicker than water, but you need good water to give your livestock so we can change water into good nourishing blood. And I believe that is the secret to long lives and sunny dispositions of octogenarians of Texas.

Dear George Bush: (either one)

Open letter to the commander-in-chief and the Prince of Elements of the cowboy republic formerly known as the USA:

Re: CCD, WMD and Big Dicks of Texas and surrounding states, water and Prince of the elements

cc: H. Clinton "Beware the leaven of Men"

Dear George Bush, either one:
CCD is the real enemy of this country; we are not hit men for the Saudis.

The Department of Justice should put some of its resources into fighting the microbes of Cascading Colony Disorder, CCD, and save some bees before looking for WMD, weapons of mass destruction.

Let me explain: since you are a rancher, it is in your best Geo Bush interest to control the forces of nature. That Katrina mess should have given you a clue.

Item One: You have the technology and the purpose, and the funds to make it rain in Iraq, Iran and all those screwed up mid-east countries.

  • Seed the atmosphere like you have been doing here in Texas

Make it rain hard in the desert

  • Iraqis have no experience with water and will surely have a revolutionary reaction

  • Water will bring "flowers to the desert."

Item Two: Moslem's and Arabians have been living centuries in a region where they have no water. They therefore develop from childhood with less water and green vegetation than the rest of the world. Having little water makes a population smaller, and weaker. Most evident is a lack of zinc in the diets of arid domiciled populations. It turns out:

No zinc in diet results in smaller average penis size
  • Smaller male genitals makes males less able to please females

  • Males must resort to extreme repression to hold onto their females

Now I thought every big dick Texan knew this. Especially the Bushes, since they are such big Texans. Or are they? Either way it is in the Commanders' best interest to make rain in Iraq, let those hapless people in on the secrets of happiness: Cool Clear Water, and normal, functional sexual activity, with big, water filled, strong women like Anna Nic-Smith.

Poor women of Arabia... I feel their pain!! (could have been said-- Sen. H. Clinton)

Once you have put water into sheep dip hideouts for despots, latrines and hovels... maybe the culture will discover chairs and quit eating off dirt floors that are becoming damp. Just ask your untapped constituency west of the Allegheny mountains, and East of the Rockies:

Midwesterners are sick of going into police actions in 700+ countries and trying to remedy the eating, hygiene and sewer problems with police action. Our troops have become sitting ducks for the last time, Mr. President... oh, you are a lame duck yourself, sorry forgot.

More water, more rain, just spray the stratosphere with the stuff you have been putting in the sky above Texas and Midwest. I guess I am trying to say as your peer George: Don't be such a fool -- scripture says the enemy is subdued by the Prince of Elements... so seize the day and make it rain on those poor bastards. You are the Prince of Elements, and you don't even know it?

Remember if you don't take care of the CCD in bee colonies soon, you won't have any Angus on your dinner plate. And if I find out you are a drugstore cowboy, who doesn't know the condition of his own pasture sod, I might have to ask my fellow Texans to consider censure on your doings. I get the feeling you don't realize Bonanza was a fictitious TV show.

Yours, with warm regards,
