Your main answer is a compilation of very interesting if not useful insights into each of the headed areas you've outlined. The problem here lies in the fact that you've selected to use a pile driver to slay a gnat.

The purpose of this Discussion Board was to make sure that non-IT students with a most probable lack of technical computer exposure will understand some simple organizational concepts in class.

These consist of knowing how to zip files and folders using, at a minimum, Windows XP utilities, know that organizing information into one or more folders each has its advantages for sending information to the virtual classroom. That's all. So please use the tool to fit the job and never lose your ability to perform research. (Grade: 15/25)
