Remember famed reader, it is only two more days till Beijing Orympics says Syonara to its guests. At this point in the Games, there is a medal count easily accessible on satellite and internet showing each country's winnings in gold/siver/bronze.
The USA has a total of 102 medals with an almost even spread of 31 gold, 36 silver and 35 bronze, plus or minus. This total will change over the weekend. Sunday Night the big "So long and thanks for all the medals," from Beijing will end the medal chase till 2012, when it resumes in London.

At this time there are 839 total possible medals, gold, silver and bronze, given out. Each country will have a percentile of "Medallions" when it all ends. This is used to find how many people in that country could have possibly earned a medal at the Olympics. These numbers begin to stagger the mind of mortals like us at MooPig Wisdom Head-Quarters!
Are you a Capita? Well the governances of the human species thinks you are. This gold medal that comes home with a teenager is worth so much in conspicuous material consumption that the carbon footprint must be akin to: Sasquatch, who by the way turned out once again to be a rubber suit in a freezer box Hoax. *groan*
